With its gingerbread-scented perfume, Avon just released the ideal festive scent. It’s a great, affordable substitute for Jo Malone’s Ginger Biscuit, which costs almost £100 less.
The festive season is all about those warm, cosy and inviting scents, and there’s no reason the same shouldn’t apply to your perfume. A rich and spicy fragrance is a must for the Christmas season, and we might have just found the perfect one to add to your perfume collection.
Ginger Blaze, one of Avon’s newest scents, joins Bamboozie Cocktail, Choco Tuberose, and Peppery Peaches in the company’s Perfect Nonsense fragrance line. If you’ve been wanting to buy Jo Malone’s London Ginger Biscuit Cologne but aren’t quite ready to spend the money, it’s also a great alternative.

The Avon Ginger Blaze costs only £13 for 50ml compared to Jo Malone’s cologne, which costs just £128 for a 100ml bottle. If you bought two bottles, which would be a whopping £102 less than Jo Malone, the bottle would only cost you £26.
The Avon scent was created by combining ingredients that shouldn’t necessarily work together, which eventually gives off a distinctive, spicy scent without smelling like a candle. For an unexpectedly excellent pairing, it combines the sharp warmth of ginger with earthy, calming hay notes.
Avon also provides a bundle that bundles the scents together, which help layer the scent up and make it last longer. Both products come in the same scent. It’s simple to purchase the Ginger Blaze online or through Avon representatives.
Prada’s Infusion de Gingembre Eau de Parfum, which costs £120 less than its current £150 price at Boots, combines ginger and musks for a deep, earthy scent. Other great spicy scents for the holidays include this. Another splurge is Goldfield &’s Banks Ingenious Ginger Eau de Parfum, which has notes of ginger, vanilla, and jasmine and retails for £140 on LookFantastic.
For a more affordable pick, Marks & Spencer’s Warmth Eau de Parfum is just £12 for 50ml, with notes of cardamom, cinnamon, cedarwood and sandalwood. One reviewer said: “Lovely fragrance, very similar to a far more expensive La Labo one. This doesn’t last quite as long but at this price point you can spray with gay abandon.”
Ginger Blaze, on the other hand, has yet to garner any positive reviews because it is a relatively new launch. However, other Avon fragrances have received praise for their long-lasting qualities, with one customer describing the Perfect Nonsense Choco Tuberose Eau de Parfum as “I love the scent of this perfume. It is very long lasting.
Another person described this perfume as gorgeous. It is a big selling point because it lasts longer than many other designer perfumes on me. My new go-to perfume is a beautiful scent, too! I’ll be re-ordering and also trying the other two.
However, one reviewer claimed that because the perfume doesn’t smell expensive, it is appropriate for the price. It has a more conventional, affordable scent.
