According to media reports, an avalanche that swept through a camp on Mount Yalung Ri caused at least seven fatalities, including five foreigners.
The team of 15 people were hit by the avalanche as they climbed the 5, 630-meter (18, 471-foot) mountain of Yalung Ri, according to a report from The Kathmandu Post on Tuesday, citing local officials, and only four survivors are still standing.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Kumar Mahato, “The avalanche buried everyone on the slope.” The difficult weather delayed an immediate response, and we received the information late.
According to Mahato, the incident claimed the lives of three French climbers, two Nepalis, and one Canadian.
Four Nepalese climbers who sustained injuries have been evacuated, and four others, all of whom are also from Nepal, are still missing, according to the Kathmandu Post.
One of the injured climbers claimed they had called for assistance but had been waiting for hours.
The unnamed climber pleaded for assistance, saying, “We yelled and cried, but no one could reach us.” After four hours, a helicopter was scheduled to arrive, but several of our friends had already left.
In northeastern Nepal’s Rolwaling Valley, climbers encounter a mix of rock, ice, and snow.
According to the Kathmandu Post, the valley had been dealing with persistent snow and bad weather for several days prior to the tragedy on Monday.
A helicopter could not be flown in the area due to heavy snowfall and clouds, according to Mahato, the police officer, but a plane eventually arrived on Monday evening.
He added that there have also been foot rescue teams in the area, and that Tuesday morning’s search operation will start.
Nepal welcomes hundreds of climbers and trekkers every year, including Mount Everest, which is one of the 14 highest peaks in the world.
Due to the shorter, icy days, snowy terrain, and narrow summit window, less popular are the Himalayan expeditions in October and November than the busy springtime months of April and May.
Trekkers and tourists stranded on well-known Himalayan trekking routes after heavy rain and snow fell last week in Nepal.
