Further praise comes from this customer, who raves: “2 in 1 straight to curl, best thing I’ve ever ordered, curls lasted over 24hrs, and my hair doesn’t hold curls, easy to use, but I YouTubed it.”

One buyer does share one gripe, writing: “Hoped for more but not that good as straighteners go, these are at best average.”

But the accolades pour in from plenty of others, as this 5-star rater exclaims: “Literally the best product I’ve every bought! They come in a cute box in a bag with the glove, mat and 2 clips. Got them tonight and gave it a whirl and I have very thinning hair but they worked a dream especially for a girl thats not very good at anything beauty wise!!! Will save me loads of time! Stephen Fry’s childhood home up for sale, and people are amazed by what it looks like

The actor, writer, and comedian moved to the house with his family in 1965 when he was eight years old. According to his autobiography, he was so fond of the home he kept a photo of it in his wallet.

A stunning seven-bedroom home, complete with a two-bedroom annexe, in the beautiful English countryside, which was the childhood home of a true British icon, could be yours. Booton House is a three-storey detached home in Norfolk, roughly 13 miles from the centre of Norwich, and has come onto the market for £1.3 million.

And it has an added pedigree – it was the childhood home of actor, comedian, and writer Sir Stephen Fry, who wrote about his fondness for it in his 1997 autobiography Moab is my Washpot. The Blackadder actor was eight years old when he and his family moved to the house in 1965.

Sir Stephen wrote that he was so fond of his childhood home he had kept a “tattered and torn” photograph of it in his wallet. Pictures of the house, which is being marketed by property agents Jackson-Stops, on Rightmove, show its location in the beautiful countryside.

It features a gated entrance into a large private courtyard, in a generous-sized landscaped garden, with trees and bushes throughout. Pictures of the inside of the home show stunning large wooden doors and window frames throughout, and many rooms on the ground floor have fireplaces.

All the rooms are of an impressive size, with the huge kitchen featuring a large central island with its own sink, and wood beams can be seen in the ceiling. The bedrooms are all of a generous size too, with one, presumably a young child’s bedroom, featuring a pretty Beatrix Potter-esque mural on the wall.

The property listing reads: “Booton House is a fabulous seven-bedroom period property offering approximately 7,000 sq ft of accommodation set over three floors in the main house, along with a separate two-bedroom annex. The house enjoys a prominent position in the rural village of Booton and stands in just under one acre of landscaped gardens and grounds, complete with ample off road gated parking to the front and side.”

It adds: “Booton is a small village in the Broadland district of Norfolk, located just to the east of Reepham and west of Aylsham. The city of Norwich is with easy driving distance as is the Broads network and the North Norfolk Coast.

“The well-known actor and comedian Stephen Fry grew up in Booton House, which is mentioned in his autobiography. The property is located within a short drive of the NDR (Norwich Northern Distributor Road), which now provides very easy main road access around the city and the county.”

People on Reddit were amazed by the home. One said: “That’s a lot of house for the money.”

Another wrote: “I know nothing of the area, but that seems like remarkably good value. Replying to this, someone else said: “It’s a guide price, it’ll be interesting to see what it actually sells for.”

Another user replied: “Lovely area as well, about a 30-40 minute drive to Norwich. As the below person said, I fully expect that this goes for a lot more. Unless there’s some kind of big problem with it that’s putting the price down to that.”

A different user said: “You sure he doesn’t still live there? That’s almost exactly the sort of house I could imagine Stephen Fry living in.”

And someone else said: “That’s the dream house for me right there! Good location too, 30-40 minutes from both Norwich and the coast. Pretty damn perfect!”

Kate Middleton sends fans wild with ‘iconic’ arrival at glitzy event in four inch heels

The Princess of Wales has received floods of praise online for her down-to-earth manner as she jumped behind the wheel to get herself to Windsor Castle – all while wearing stilettos

Princess Kate has delighted royal fans with her humble way of getting to an important royal engagement at Windsor Castle. The Princess of Wales met with the World Cup-winning Red Roses England women’s rugby team, with the venue close to her Forest Lodge home

Kate, who is patron of the Rugby Football Union, hosted a reception at the castle for the national team to celebrate their September 2025 victory – the team’s first World Cup win since 2014. And now a video of the princess arriving at the castle has since gone viral and garnered much attention from royal fans, showing Kate pulling up in a black car she was driving herself.

After arriving at the royal venue, Kate was recorded stepping out as a man stood waiting to hand the mother-of-three an umbrella to shield her from the rainfall. Kate gracefully stepped out of the car before walking with the man, holding the umbrella to protect them both from the rain.

The clip prompted a major fan reaction online, with one post on X saying: “The Princess of Wales drove herself to Windsor Castle this afternoon to host a reception for the England Women’s rugby team – in an Alexander McQueen suit and stilettos. Iconic”.

Another added: “So amazing she doesn’t require people to drive her and can easily do it herself.” Another impressed fan wrote: “Driving in stilettos – respect right there!”

A third person commented on Kate’s actions, saying: “I love the fact that she’s holding her own umbrella.” A fourth agreed, saying: “I love it that she took that umbrella from him, and she carried it!”

Inside the royal engagement, Kate shared a candid admission about her eldest child Prince George, and how she often avoids him, as he grows into a teenager, when playing sport at home.

While mingling with the players and their coach, Kate – who is patron of the Rugby Football Union – praised their win and hailed the “amazing achievement,” telling the world champions: “You’ve really inspired all the new generation (that) perhaps might not even have thought rugby was for them.”

Kate added: “I think it really showed how accessible rugby is to so many types of girls, in different parts of the country.” When asked if her daughter played the sport, the princess replied: “Charlotte is playing rugby but at home with the family, so she isn’t yet at school, and I was asking how many schools are actually incorporating (rugby).

“Rugby is so accessible, Louis is playing touch rugby and it’s such a great game. Actually, they shouldn’t necessarily push boys and girls in particular sports too early.”

Kate then had the rugby team in stitches with her candid comment about Prince George, as she said: “Obviously as they get physically stronger – George now, if we play at home, I do not want to get tackled by George – but, up to a certain age, I think it’s great.”

Wu demolishes Xiao to reach last four of Masters

PA Media

Wu Yize produced a devastating exhibition of potting to thrash an out-of-sorts Xiao Guodong 6-0 as he progressed into the semi-finals of the Masters at Alexandra Palace.

The 22-year-old opened the match with a superb 112 break and followed up with a 93 and 60 as he established a commanding 4-0 lead over his Chinese compatriot at the mid-session interval.

It was a far from faultless display from debutant Wu, who won his first ranking title at the International Championship in November.

However, he was aided considerably by the performance of his practice partner Xiao, who looked a shadow of the player that defeated Mark Selby 6-2 in the first round.

World number 11 Xiao had opportunities in the first frame but when he missed a routine blue to the middle and split the pack for his opponent it set the tone for the entire match, with some terrible misses and poor safety contributing greatly to his downfall.

Wu constructed a break of 84 as he took the fifth frame and rounded off a comprehensive victory with a run of 97.

“It is definitely a dream stage for me from since I was a little kid,” Wu told BBC Sport.”

“I just told myself to enjoy every moment of this match and give my best and obviously it is a great performance.”

The campaign group Palestine Action, which has since been banned by the government, said it was behind the incident.

Lewie Chiaramello, Jon Cink, Amy Gardiner-Gibson, Daniel Jeronymides-Norie and Muhammad ‌Umer Khalid appeared on Friday at London’s Old Bailey ‌court by videolink from prison.

They pleaded not guilty to damaging property for a purpose ‌prejudicial to the interests or safety of the United Kingdom. Their trial is due ‍to start in January 2027.

No applications for bail were made, despite it having been one of five key demands put forward by the activists. The others included the right to a fair trial – which they say includes the release of documents related to “the ongoing witch-hunt of activists and campaigners” – ending censorship of their communications, “de-proscribing” Palestine Action and shutting down Elbit Systems, which operates several UK factories.

Palestine Action launched in July 2020 and describes itself as a movement “committed to ending global participation in Israel’s genocidal and apartheid regime”. The UK parliament voted in favour of proscribing the group on July 2, 2025, classifying it as a “terrorist” organisation.

More than 1,600 arrests linked to support for the proscribed group were made in the three months following the ban’s introduction. The ban has been challenged in court.

Hunger strike

This week, Chiaramello was one of three activists allegedly linked to Palestine Action who ended their hunger strike in prison, according to campaign group Prisoners for Palestine.

Chiaramello had fasted every other day, as he is a Type 1 diabetic, for 46 days.

Cink and Gardiner-Gibson – the latter now known as Amu Gib, also took part in a hunger strike in detention.

“We have never trusted the government with our lives, and we will not start now. We will be the ones to decide how we give our lives to justice and liberation,” Gardiner-Gibson said in a statement issued by the group on Wednesday.
