Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips shows off 5 stone weight loss as she sizzles in pink bikini

This Love Island star showcased her incredible weight transformation to fans, as she revealed she looked back on her weight loss and vowed to bring her routine back

A Love Island star has wowed fans as she showed off her weight loss transformation – after losing previously five stone.

Former Love Island contestant Shaughna Phillips, 31, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a throwback before-and-after video showcasing her remarkable five-stone weight loss journey, before she got pregnant with her second child. The reality TV star looked stunning in a vibrant pink bikini as she placed two clips of herself before and after next to one another. In the initial clip, Shaughna is seen posing from the front and side in a bandeau bikini, revealing to her followers that she previously weighed 97kg (15st 2lbs).

The second clip sees Shaughna confidently modelling a halterneck bikini top with matching bottoms, proudly flaunting her slimmed-down figure after dropping to 61kg (9st 6lbs). The 31-year-old – who gave birth to her baby girl, Sofia Phillips-Webb, on Halloween last year – has now said she’s using the throwback clip as motivation to get her back into her old routine after giving birth late last year.

She announced in the caption of her post: “I NEED this in my life guys! Which is why … we’re bringing it BACK!!”

“After telling you all I was kickstarting shred it again for myself, I was blown away by how may of you wanted to join me, so consider the doors to the Shred It Plan club WIDE OPEN. As you probs remember, I managed to get into the best shape of my life last year following this plan – losing FIVE and a HALF STONE f**!”

The mum added: “It was NOT a quick fix – it took over 14 months to get there. So after dropping 5 dress sizes and deciding to add to my girl squad – here I am ready to shred like I’ve never shred before.”

However, the reality star recently admitted she is experiencing issues with postpartum swelling. Shaughna uploaded a video of her severely swollen feet to Instagram, joking: “The flip flops are staying for a while longer it seems”.

In the clip she rested her foot on a baby chair and wiggled her toes to show how puffed up they had become. Postpartum swelling is common as the body works to flush out excess fluids from pregnancy. While it eases up for most new mums within a couple of weeks, in some cases it can last up to six.

Shaughna announced Sofia’s birth in an emotional Instagram reel where she revealed that her daughter weighed 7lb 4oz, gushing: “Our littlest love has completed us in ways I didn’t even know was possible. The dreamiest experience for our perfect girl.”

She shared a photo of herself, her boyfriend Billy Webb, and their newborn, adding: “So many amazing photos to share with you all and I cannot get over how magical that experience was. I’ll have 20 more please!”

In another post, she revealed that November 6 had been her daughter’s actual due date, writing on a sweet snap of her sleeping baby: “Happy due date my darling”. She later debuted a gold necklace engraved with both her daughters’ names.

Sofia is Shaughna’s second child with her partner Billy. The pair also share a daughter called Lucia, who is two.

Sudan food aid at risk of running dry, UN warns

Food aid to war-torn Sudan could run out within months unless hundreds of millions of additional dollars are pledged, the United Nations has warned.

Marking more than 1,000 days of the country’s civil war, the UN’s World Food Programme on Thursday issued a plea for $700m to fund its work in Sudan. The money is needed to prevent what it says is already the world’s worst hunger and displacement crisis from getting worse.

Three years of brutal war between the military government and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have killed tens of thousands of people and displaced 14 million.

Repeated attempts to broker a peace deal have failed to bring the fighting to an end. Meanwhile, aid efforts are challenged by a sharp drop in funding – led by an ideological drive by President Donald Trump in the United States – and competing demands from numerous other conflicts across the world.

“WFP has been forced to reduce rations to the absolute minimum for survival. By the end of March, we will have depleted our food stocks in Sudan,” Ross Smith, director of emergency preparedness and response, said in a statement.

“Without immediate additional funding, millions of people will be left without vital food assistance within weeks,” he added.

The $700m in funding that the programme is requesting would keep its operations in Sudan going through June.

The WFP says more than 21 million people in Sudan, nearly half of the population, face acute hunger. Famine has been confirmed in areas where months of fighting have made access for aid workers largely impossible.

While visiting northern Sudan on Thursday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk called for an “all-out effort” by the international community to help aid groups “provide the much-needed humanitarian assistance that is required under the circumstances”.

Efforts led by the US and regional mediators – Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, known as the Quad – to secure a ceasefire have failed as the government and RSF continue to wrestle for territory. Both have been accused of war crimes.

The RSF is suspected of atrocities, including indiscriminate killing and mass rape, over recent months, as it razed a trail of destruction through the western state of Darfur and central Kordofan region following its retreat from the capital, Khartoum.

A meeting on Wednesday in Cairo brought together officials from the Quad countries as well as the UN, European Union and regional organisations to try to revive peace efforts.

Lithuania charges multinational gang of Russian-directed sabotage attacks

Lithuanian authorities accused Russia’s GRU military intelligence service ‍on Friday of ‍masterminding attempted arson attacks on a plant that supplies radio wave scanners to Ukraine’s army.

Six nationals of Spain, Colombia, Cuba, Russia and Belarus had been arrested and charged over the 2024 attacks, and each faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted, senior prosecutor Arturas Urbelis told reporters on Friday.

“The crimes were coordinated, and orders were issued to the perpetrators ‍by a group of people living in Russia, who are connected with Russia’s GRU,” the deputy chief of Lithuania’s criminal police, Saulius Briginas, said at the same event.

There was ‍no immediate reaction from Russia, which has repeatedly denied accusations that it has stepped up sabotage and other attacks in the region since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The group that coordinated the attack was made up of Colombian and Cuban citizens living in Russia, and had attempted similar arson attacks in Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic, Briginas said.

They had targeted oil infrastructure in ‌Romania, construction warehouses in Poland and buses, a post office and a cinema in the Czech Republic, he said.

Lithuania has issued international arrest warrants for three more people, and was trying to ‌extradite a fourth who has been arrested in Colombia, he added.

All of the six arrested people had links ‌to Russia, where they studied, travelled or had acquaintances, Briginas told the news conference.

They were paid 5,000 to 10,000 euros ($5,800 to $11,600) for their actions, Urbelis said. “The perpetrators were mainly motivated by money.”

Last year, Lithuania blamed Russia for an attempted arson attack on an IKEA ‌shopping centre.

Polish prosecutors last month charged a Russian in absentia with directing a group of saboteurs and spies as part of a suspected campaign to undermine Warsaw’s strong ‍support for Ukraine.

Dermot O’Leary reveals surprising connection to Traitors star after recognising her on TV

Dermot O’Leary has spoken out about his connection to a Traitors star, and was surprised when he saw her on television in Claudia Winkleman’s hit BBC series

Dermot O’Leary has revealed his surprising connection to a Traitors star. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the hit BBC series is currently enthralling viewers with its latest run of episodes as contestants battle it out to win a potentially six-figure prize pot in the mysterious game.

During Friday’s edition of This Morning, Dermot was joined by Alison Hammond in their usual slot as they provided relief cover for regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, when they were joined by actress Sarah Parish, and conversation turned to the nation’s favourite game show.

Sarah, best known for her starring roles in dramas like Peak Practice, Bancroft and Stay Close amongst a host of others, is back for another series of Piglets, the ITV sitcom all set at a police training college, which is currently airing every Thursday on ITV.

Sarah features alongside Mark Heap, Rebecca Humphries and Maddy Smedley, who competed on the very first series of The Traitors when it aired in 2022, and has since gone on to carve out a career as an actress. Speaking about her co-star, Sarah admitted: “She’s incredible, she’s so natural, she’s brilliant!”

It was then that Dermot revealed that he actually knew Maddy, because her sister worked as his runner when he was the host of The X Factor in the late 2000s. He said: “I used to work with her sister, Rosie, on The X Factor. She was my runner. And I remember meeting her when she was just a young actress starting out and then I watched her on Traitors and thought ‘Hang on, I know her.'”

Sarah then admitted that she has never actually seen The Traitors, and struggles to watch most television when people are made to feel “uncomfortable” on camera, as she joked that she cannot even stand to watch the infamously acerbic judge Craig Revel Horwood on Strictly Come Dancing.

She added: “I’ve never watched Traitors, though. I’m the only person in the world. I’m just not very good with anything that makes people feel uncomfortable, I don’t like it. I can’t even watch Strictly Come Dancing, as soon as Craig comes on, I have to switch over!”

Just last week, Maddy made her debut on long-running medical drama Casualty, playing a patient who sustains severe burns after falling asleep in the sun.

Announcing the role on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly before the episode went to air, Maddy told her followers: “Meet Bethany Chimes tonight on Casualty at 8:45pm BBC 1 or on iplayer now – she’s addicted to a sun tan cos she’s lonely.

“Sad story really and hope it raises awareness of melanoma and how bad the sun can really be. @bbccasualtyofficial #casualty love working again at casualty x.”

Maddy was one of the original stars on BBC One’s The Traitors, rising to fame after becoming one of the few Faithfuls to correctly suspect Wilf Webster of being a Traitor. While she made it to the final week, she was banished just before the last episode.

The reality star , who was an actress before signing up to the Traitors, has appeared in a number of shows since leaving the reality competition. She originally appeared on Casualty back in 2022, playing Jasmine Madbury.

Maddy also played the role of Faye Fuller in Hollyoaks, Sally in Big Boys and appeared as Dilys Shaughnessy in two episodes of Call the Midwife. Meanwhile, she made her film debut in 2023 in the film Unicorns.

Love Island bombshell has steamy three way snog in tonight’s episode

Love Island All Stars bombshell Scott van-der-Sluis will enjoy a steamy three-way snog in tonight’s episode after branding Sean Stone the ‘worst Islander ever’ on ITV2

Scott van-der-Sluis is set to leave the villa gobsmacked tonight as he takes part in a sizzling three-way kiss with two Love Island All Stars beauties. The Islander made his presence felt on the ITV2 show last night when he made his entrance as the first bombshell.

He instantly butted heads with Sean Stone after labelling him the “worst Islander ever”. However, in tonight’s episode, the drama escalates as Scott engages in a steamy three-way smooch.

The third series of All Stars finally hit ITV2 screens last night (January 15) following delays caused by wildfires in the close to the South African villa. Presenter Maya Jama once again welcomed back recognisable faces from the programme’s decade-long history, all seeking another shot at romance.

No sooner had the contestants readjusted to villa life than a major curveball arrived in the shape of Love Island’s

Scott van-der-Sluis, who stormed back onto screens as a bombshell entry. Host Maya herself described it as a “spicy entrance” as Scott declared that fellow Islander Sean was “one of the worst Islanders” he’d witnessed.

A Love Island source revealed to The Sun: “Scott gets to choose two girls to enjoy a cheeky two-on-one kiss with, and he picks Belle and Leanne. It’s part of a steamy game and grabs everyone’s attention. It confirms that Scott’s explosive entrance last night where he targeted Sean was not a one-time thing. He’s in the villa to make an impression and find a connection, and he’s going to continue stirring things up.”

Last night, Scott made his debut as the first bombshell after all the couples had already been matched by the public. It was then Scott’s turn to survey the new pairings.

However, he quickly stirred up trouble in the villa with his remarks. When host Maya Jama asked which boys were “no good” for their girls, Scott responded: “It is an All Star girl line up but in the end couple I can only see one All Star there.”

Scott was referring to Belle and Sean and maintained that Sean was one of the “worst Islanders” he had ever seen. Sean was left stunned as he retorted: “How many finals did you make?” To which Scott replied: “How many shows have I been on?” Sean shot back: “That is irrelevant.”

He then added: “I have never even spoken to you before.”

“I’ve never even spoken to you before,” was the retort. Scott defended his stance, stating: “You were that far up Joey [Essex} a***, you were naming his organs after candies!”

Sean didn’t hold back, labelling him as “crazy” during their heated exchange.

Scott made his debut during series 10 of the popular ITV2 romance show. Following his departure, he jetted off for Love Island USA and has also competed in Love Island Games.

Now he’s returned to stir things up, and viewers flocked to social media to voice their reactions. Series 12 contestant Yasmin Pettet declared: “THIS IS THE CHAOS I WANT.”

One viewer echoed the sentiment, writing: “FINALLY SOMETHING TO WATCH.”

Another chimed in: “He did way too much but like we needed the entertainment that episode was boring.”

Discussing his motivation for returning to the villa, Scott revealed to ITV : “Since my time on Love Island 10, I think I’ve been on a journey for the last two and half years and I’ve always had in my head that All Stars is the final chapter of that journey.

“That’s all I’m missing so it would be nice to find something real and find someone to care about.”

Love Island All Stars continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

The Traitors’ Stephen Libby in tears as he reacts to huge mistake

The Traitors star Stephen Libby has taken to social media and become emotional as he reflected on a very awkward scene from an episode of the programme which aired this week

Stephen Libby was left in tears after his awkward The Traitors blunder. Earlier this week, Stephen slipped up in a scene that could have easily gone unnoticed by viewers.

In a scene with fellow Traitor, Rachel, Stephen went back on his deal to recruit Matt as a Traitor. The pair were left wondering whether they should take Jessie, Matt and Faraz out and murder them, meaning they would leave the castle.

But in a very awkward scene, Stephen was heard saying, “Throw the cat amongst the chickens,” rather than the correct term, “throw the cat amongst the pigeons.” Reflecting on the scene, Stephen shared a video on Instagram which showed him appearing to cry over the awkward gaffe.

“I don’t think we had pigeons growing up on the Isle of Lewis,” he captioned his upload. The comment section was soon flooded with messages from fans who found the situation amusing. One said: “Another brilliant episode!!! It’s become like my newest soap opera!!”

“Was waiting for Harriet’s very dramatic Cat amongst the pigeons,” said a second. Meanwhile, a third commented: “I heard it’s actually chickens in some cultures, so you’re just more worldly than others.”

Tensions have been rising for the traitors as Jessie poses a threat to the group, having repeatedly pushed to banish Stephen – a danger which rises as fewer contestants remain in the game.

The pair also discussed Matthew as an option, after last Friday’s episode saw the faithful granted the opportunity to ask the traitors two questions, and he asked if the traitors would recruit him. Rachel said: “He’s dangerous, isn’t he?”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

Stephen agreed: “He’s dangerous.” The pair also considered Faraaz, and Stephen said: “Now that Sam’s out of the picture, I think he’ll come for me next.” The episode closed with Rachel saying she hopes they make the right decision for both of them, leaving viewers guessing whose name they wrote down.

Prior to the episode airing, fans had been waiting to find out what came of Matt’s encounter with Stephen and Rachel. Both of the Traitors kept their identities hidden in a confession booth, while Matt demanded that they eliminate Jessie, skip the next murder and recruit him into their team in the turret. Elsewhere, Sam was banished from the castle.

His fellow contestants believed him to be the murderer in their midst after his suspicious behaviour during the day’s task. The account manager has said he got “overwhelmed” and “frustrated” from the challenge the day before, and says he thinks his actions “looked weird” to the other players, leading to his departure from the show.

Sam was deemed suspicious during the day’s challenge after he went for the only shield available to grant him protection from that night’s kill. The episode also saw builder Adam become the traitors’ latest murder victim.

Following his departure, the 34-year-old said: “I feel like I was done at that particular time.” He added: “It was so exhausting trying to understand and read people and every little movement.”

Adam said he blamed fellow faithful James for his murder after he revealed he took a shield in Wednesday’s challenge without telling the other contestants.
