Portugal’s wheelchair basketball player Luis Domingos has been named to the England national performance squad for the national competition in wheelchair rugby.
One of three uncapped players in a 17-strong squad hoping to qualify for an Australian tour of Australia is Domingos, who plays club rugby for Castleford Tigers in the Wheelchair Championship.
Josh Edwards of Hull FC and Finlay O’Neill of the Halifax Panthers, along with Domingos, are two of the eight players added to the initial list of eight players chosen in May.
Head coach Coyd will select a final group of 10 players for an October four-game tour of Australia.
On October 30 and November 2, 2018, the tour will feature a two-test series against Australia in Gold Coast.
They’ll play two matches against state rivals, Queensland on the Sunshine Coast on October 24 and New South Wales on October 24 in Sydney.
Domingos scored the winning try for Castleford in their victory over North Wales Crusaders in April’s Wheelchair Challenge Trophy, which was awarded to second-tier clubs before switching to basketball. Domingos then returned to Leeds and scored the winning try.
After playing basketball for Portugal, Coyd said, “He’s a really exciting athlete in his chair and is now eager to test himself in wheelchair rugby league once more.”
O’Neill helped Halifax defeat London Roosters in the Wheelchair Challenge Cup final last Saturday, and all three uncapped call-ups made an impact in two recent University of York trials.
Nathan Holmes and captain-coach Wayne Boardman, both of Halifax’s cup-winning side, are just two players added to Coyd’s squad.
Sebastien Bechara (Catalans Dragons), Mason Billington (London Roosters), Wayne Boardman (Halifax Panthers), Jack Brown (Halifax Panthers), Josh Butler (Leeds Rhinos), Nathan Collins (Leeds Rhinos), Joe Coyd (London Roosters), Chris Haynes (Sheffield Eagles), Lewis King (London Roosters), Tristan Norfolk (Hull FC), Finlay O’Neill (Halifax Panthers),

Victoria Beckham wasn’t in the mood to let her family feud affect her personal ventures and showed it was business as usual on her latest stateside trip. It’s thought that while the former Spice Girl, 51, was putting on a show in New York, eldest son Brooklyn remained in Los Angeles.
The family feud has recently become known, with Brooklyn, 26, shunned his father David Beckham’s lavish 50th birthday celebrations, with the latest update coming out today. Before there was any Father’s Day message, Brooklyn blanked his family even after the former England football captain was given the knighthood.
But despite the frosty family scenario, Victoria headed stateside to focus on work. Taking to her Instagram Stories, the singer-turned-fashionista reshared a post from Victoria Beckham Beauty.

Again, the entire event was labeled “gorgeous evening” and the night was “gorgeous evening.” Scallops were the first seafood dish on the menu, which appeared to be a large selection. Additionally, there was miso and tuna soup.
Posh thanked everyone who showed up at the extravagant event. She wrote, “Thanks to everyone who joined us,” and then added a message of gratitude with a flawless Victoria Beckham Beauty background.
Victoria celebrated Cruz’s most recent career move with pride at the occasion. The 20-year-old budding musician hopes to establish his own successful career in the same field as his mother.

“Love you,” she added to the picture. The also uploaded a snappe of Cruz standing alongside his grandparents, Jackie and Anthony Adams. She captioned the follow-up: “Proud Nana and Papa.”
The rest of the Beckham clan continue to declare their love for one another in public despite the ongoing family feud. On Father’s Day, David from Brooklyn’s other sons gushed over the former sports star despite the absence of a public display of affection for him.

Additionally, David himself wrote a sweet post about his family’s love. David apologized in response to his joke about the nickname he still demands people call him. He continued by saying, “No matter what, he will be there for his kids.”

Former luxury real estate agent, Sara Burack, who was known for her appearance on Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House, died Thursday after being struck in a hit-and-run in Hampton Bays, New York. Sara was just 40-years-old at the time of her death.
It has been reported the driver fled the scene and has not yet been identified. As of Thursday evening, the investigation remains ongoing.
Burack’s body was discovered shortly before 3 a.m. on Montauk Highway near Villa Paul Restaurant. A 911 caller reported seeing a woman lying in the road. Officers arrived to find her unconscious, with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. She was taken to hospital but died later that day.
Burack had once been part of the high-end property firm Nest Seekers International, which operates in both Manhattan and the Hamptons. Her time with the company included being featured in the Netflix series that followed a team of ambitious young brokers chasing multimillion-dollar listings in the competitive Hamptons market.

Although she left Nest Seekers over a year ago, Burack remained in contact with former colleagues. “Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends,” said Geoff Gifkins, the firm’s Hamptons regional manager. “Please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends.”
Real estate agent Paulette Corsair, a longtime friend of the Burack family, shared heartfelt memories of Sara’s compassion and commitment to her community. “She was an amazing person who really cared for people,” Corsair told Newsday. “She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family.”

Before turning to high-end real estate, Burack spent years working in her family’s commercial construction and materials business. In an interview with Hamptons.com, she spoke about her path into the luxury market.
“I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent,” she explained.
Ahead of Million Dollar Beach House’s release, Burack described the show as a window into a glamorous world. “Viewers will be taken into the world of the Hamptons where they will see not only beautiful multimillion-dollar beach homes and estates, but will be shown summer in the Hamptons,” she told Hamptons.com.
Tributes have poured in for Sara(Image: Instagram)
“With scenes from broker open houses, polo games, yacht life and more, there is sure to be an awww from viewers!”
As police continue searching for the driver responsible, friends and former colleagues are left mourning the sudden loss Sara.
There have been a lot of new features at the Club World Cup, regardless of whether you like them or not.
The new 32-team competition format has been popular, from player walk-ons to the eight-second goalkeeper rule.
Walk-ons for players
Before each Club World Cup game, every starting player had a personal walk-on.
Because of how long it takes, Shamoon Hafez, a reporter for football news at the tournament, claims this is the most notable innovation to date.
Romeo Lavia, the midfielder for Chelsea, is a fan.
He continued, “I believe it to be something unique and fresh for us. It was enjoyable to me. Why not play in the Premier League?
It’s a little showbiz-related, isn’t it? It really appeals to me. The only difference is that if we did it in the Premier League, we might get a little cold because you have to wait for the other players before playing.

Ref cam
DAZN
Ref cam displays live footage from referee bodycams before and during games, in the tunnel, during the warm-up, and during the coin toss.
Nothing will appear during the game, unlike rugby union, and nothing that is controversial or offensive, such as a player getting a nasty injury, will be shown. However, goals and moments of skill will be delayed.
The video assistant referee (VAR) will have access to the images, but that is not the point of the innovation.
Rico Lewis was shown the video of the challenge that caused the team’s opener against Wydad Casablanca, but the red card had already been broadcast.
Pierluigi Collina, a former international referee, claims that the technology is primarily a form of entertainment.

Goalkeepers’ eight-second rule

As Al Hilal goalkeeper Yassine Bounou became the second goalkeeper to concede a corner after failing to release the ball within eight seconds, commented DAZN co-commentator Michael Brown.
It could have cost the Saudi Arabian club a lot if it had been a 1-1 draw with Spanish giants Real Madrid in the 96th minute.
The new eight-second rule is being used for goalkeepers for the first time at the Club World Cup.
A corner kick is awarded if a goalkeeper controls the ball with their hand or arm for more than eight seconds before releasing it, as per the International Football Association Board (Ifab) rules.
The referee will determine the ball’s possession during the eighth and final five seconds of play and will visually count down those five with a raised hand.
Ronwen Williams, the Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, was the first to break the law after being penalized in the final ten minutes of his team’s 1-0 victory over Ulsan Hyundai.

The on-pitch referee will inform stadium supporters of VAR decisions and their justifications, as in previous Fifa tournaments.
Fans of the game will first be able to view the officials’ replays for the first time.
The VAR hub discussions will still not be broadcast, though.
Collina pleaded for patience for those who are unable to comprehend why rugby, cricket, and all other major American sports are still using commonplace techniques.

faster offside choices

Officials are using an accelerated semi-automated offside technology that will prompt them to immediately halt play if a player is more than 10 cm offside touches the ball.
It aims to cut unnecessary delays.
As is the case with semi-automated offside (SAO) systems used in most major leagues, assistant referees will immediately be notified rather than having to wait for the technology to check positions and distances.
On April 12, SAO was introduced to the Premier League.
Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for Nottingham Forest who suffered a serious abdominal injury against Leicester City, was the subject of the enhanced SAO.

Between minutes 60 and 88, via FIFA+, voting is open.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich), Vitinha (Paris St-Germain), Pedro Neto (Chelsea), and Phil Foden (Manchester City) have all so far received the Superior Player Award at the Club World Cup.

At the 2022 World Cup, the nickname “Man of the Match” was changed to “Player of the Match.”
After a promotional stand in a Cardiff store offering a chance to meet the England women’s football team, Tesco has apologized.
Just before Wales take on England at Euro 2025 in Switzerland, customers were horrified to see a Lucozade display featuring the Lionesses in the front and center of the store’s entrance at Western Avenue.
Noel Mooney, the Football Association of Wales (FAW)’s chief executive, shared their anger on social media, calling him “Cymru.”
As Wales women prepare for their first major tournament appearance, one customer called it “deeply offensive” and demanded that Tesco “read the room.”
“I don’t understand how this occurs, really. They argued that “someone somewhere must have thought it was a bad idea.”

Walking in Tesco and seeing the England women’s team “must be lovely for our Welsh women footballers,” according to another user.
Tesco claimed in a statement that the display was “incorrectly” placed in the store.
A training camp for the Senegalese women’s basketball team in the US has been scrapped, with the West African nation’s prime minister saying he cancelled it because some of the squad were denied US visas.
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko said the team would now train in Senegal’s capital, Dakar, “in a sovereign and conducive setting”.
It comes amid reports that the US plans to impose fresh travel restrictions on 25 more African countries, including Senegal.
It remains unclear why the Senegalese athletes were denied visas, as the US Embassy is yet to publicly comment on the matter.
“Informed of the refusal of issuing visas to several members of the Senegal women’s national basketball team, I have instructed the Ministry of Sports to simply cancel the ten-day preparatory training initially planned in the United States of America”, Sonko said on Thursday in a statement shared to social media.
Reports say five Senegalese basketball players and 13 team officials were travelling to meet other members of the squad and their coach who were already in the US, to warm up for the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Ivory Coast next month.
But their visa applications were not approved.
Senegal has one of the best women’s basketball teams in Africa – consistently reaching the final four in AfroBasket tournaments and boasting players from top leagues in the US, Europe and Egypt.
The visa refusals are raising eyebrows because, according to the recently leaked diplomatic cable containing details of the extended travel restrictions, targeted countries were given up to 60 days to address the concerns raised by the US.
These reportedly include people overstaying their visas, lack of co-operation with deportations, links to terror attacks in the US, antisemitism or what it termed “anti-American” activity.
Following the reported new travel restrictions, Senegal’s foreign ministry urged nationals to comply with their permitted periods of stay in the US.
Although it did not directly comment on Senegal’s possible inclusion in the latest list of restricted countries, the government statement underscored that diplomatic and consular services were working in close collaboration with the US administration.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Yussuf Tuggar said the expanded travel bans could impede possible energy and rare earth mineral deals which West African countries can offer the US.
