Police Confirm Death Of Two Officers In Kaduna Police Station Attack

The Zonkwa Divisional Police Headquarters in the state’s Zango Kataf Local Government Area was attacked, and the Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed that two officers were killed.

On Friday, the gunmen reportedly invaded the police department by opening fire on officers while they were on duty in an effort to free some gang members who have reportedly been arrested and detained at the station by breaking unfenced perimeters and opening fire on them.

Two police officers on duty, DSP Monday Madaki and Inspector Bin Magaji, were shot to death, according to the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, who was later confirmed by doctors.

He continued, “The gunmen fled right away after the attack,” before the DPO of the Zonkwa Division’s mobilization of additional policemen and military personnel arrived on the scene.

The police spokesman added that the attackers had made more efforts to apprehend the fugding gunmen because no weapons or prisoners had been taken during the assault.

The Zonkwa Divisional Police attack was criticized and described as vile and deplorable by the Kaduna South Senator, Sunday Marshall Katung.

The senator remarked in a statement that such a criminal assault on the country’s security forces is wicked, barbaric, and reproachable, and that it deserves a condemnation absolue.

Trossard Strikes Against Fulham As Arsenal Go Three Points Clear

Leandro Trossard’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday gave Arsenal the lead, three points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

At Craven Cottage, Belgian forward Trossard scored his first league goal of the season in the second half.

That extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run to eight games and secures their fifth successive victory in every competition.

After Liverpool lost two straight games, Arsenal was declared the bookmakers’ favorite to win the Premier League.

After falling to Everton earlier on Saturday, Manchester City moved just one place clear of Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, the residents of north London won back with a strong, if unspectacular, performance along the River Thames.

“It’s a really difficult place to move,” he declared. In recent years, we have seen that. We invested a lot in it. In the first half, there were some giveaways, but we stayed in the lead throughout the entire contest,” Arteta said.

They have known how to adapt because they have been married for a long time.

This season, Arsenal are chasing their first English title since 2004 by winning six of their eight league games.

When Harry Wilson’s reverse pass reached Raul Jimenez, Fulham threatened an early lead, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya pushed the Mexican’s effort away.

Wilson curled a curler past the far post after Gabriel Magalhaes misplaced his pass.

Riccardo Calafiori believed to have given Arsenal the lead early in the second half, but after a VAR check, the defender’s sweet strike was flagged for offside.

Before Josh King’s cross forced the “keeper to tip the ball over his bar, Wilson almost slammed a low drive past Raya from the edge of the area.

As the Arsenal striker’s goal drought reached seven games, Viktor Gyokeres was denied by a good save from Fulham’s goalkeeper Bernd Leno when he ran onto Bukayo Saka’s pass.

Declan Rice fired wide on the stroke of half-time after Calafiori had already fouled from 18 yards.

As Arsenal’s frustration mounted, Trossard’s deft shot from close range was followed by Timothy Castagne’s goal-line clearance moments later.

When Wilson lashed a fierce volley just over the bar, Arteta’s men almost made up for those misses.

However, Mick Jagger, a well-known Arsenal fan, was standing and the Gunners were finally satisfied in the 58th minute.

Arsenal’s set-piece skill was crucial when Gabriel scored from close range and Trossard converted from Saka’s corner.

Since the start of the 2023-2014 campaign, Arsenal has now scored 37 goals from corners in the Premier League.

Saka slalomed through Fulham’s defense to force Leno into a wise stop, and the momentum was with the Gunners.

Before referee Anthony Taylor had to overturn his decision after VAR showed the Brazilian’s tackle made contact with the ball, Arsenal were initially denied a penalty for Kevin’s challenge on Saka.

Gyokeres has just three goals for his new club despite scoring 97 times in 102 matches for Sporting Lisbon.

His troubles didn’t seem to come to an end when he shot straight at Leno with the goal at his mercy before scoring, but Arsenal already had a title shot in.

Sunderland bucking the trend, but how bad is it for Wolves?

The Stadium of Light’s full-time emotions were palpable.

Sunderland moved up to seventh place after winning their fourth game out of eight in their Premier League debut.

Wolves, in contrast, haven’t won any games yet and are still rooted to the bottom of the table.

Wolves have had their worst Premier League season, while Regis le Bris’ side have had their best start to the season.

Sunderland’s excellent “tough journey” begins.

Sunderland fans might be forgiven for feeling uneasy about their return to the Premier League in light of the club’s turmoil over the past ten years.

The Black Cats have endured back-to-back relegations and spent four years in League One, which has been a long way back to the top division.

Even the dramatic promotion from the previous season.

Sunderland overcame the odds to defeat Sheffield United in the play-off final with a last-gasp winner at Wembley after finishing 16th the previous season.

Sunderland’s revival, however, has had more than just good fortune.

After the Black Cats made 14 first-team signings this summer, there was concern that Le Bris’ side might lose the group that helped them advance.

However, this season’s momentum has more than stayed the same.

Sunderland have had a Premier League campaign that has been at their best since 1998 with 14 points from eight games.

Le Bris, the manager, doesn’t mean to overlook anything.

He told BBC Sport, “It’s just a question of the next game.”

It’s a difficult and long journey, the author says. It boosts our confidence if we can win points early.

The Black Cats have scored 10 of their 14 points at the Stadium of Light, which is just behind Arsenal’s record-setting start.

Sunderland’s recent success may be attributed to their recent opposition to the trend of promoted sides.

After eight matches last season, Southampton, Leicester, and Ipswich, who were all promoted last season and were all relegated, managed just 14 points. By themselves, Sweden has already matched that figure.

Sunderland’s points total is the highest from a promoted team since Wolves in the 2018-19 campaign.

Wolves given toothless punishment for an attack

Wolves may be far more successful than they were last season, but Saturday’s trip to the North East has few positives to offer.

They are currently five points away from safety, in danger of being cut short, and have the division’s worst goal difference despite only eight games remaining.

It is the 14th time a team has scored less than two goals at this point, with eight of the previous 13 going to be relegated, and they have also failed to score in four of their eight games so far.

In fact, only one of the last five campaigns saw Wolves fall from that position.

Even though Vitor Pereira praised his players’ performance after a mediocre opening 45 minutes, they still struggled against League One rivals from three years ago.

Pereira said, “I don’t recall good moments when I look back at the first half.”

“We corrected our moments in the second half, and in my opinion, we played 30 minutes of top-notch football with three or four chances to score.

You can’t lose these moments in the Premier League. We ultimately accept, though. We stopped playing with two strikers in the final fifteen minutes, and we started playing the long ball, which is not our style.

Given that their situation has only just begun to improve, Pereira’s signing of a new contract comes exactly a month after four straight Premier League defeats.

Another significant problem is Jorgen Strand Larsen’s lack of top-flight goals this year.

Over the course of his career, the Norway international has scored on average every three games.

And it is presumed that he played a key role in the club’s success this season when they turned down offers for him in the summer of £50 million and £55 million.

‘Sport must adapt’, says Draper after Rune injury

Images courtesy of Getty

After Holger Rune became the most famous player to end his season prematurely, British tennis legend Jack Draper says the tennis calendar needs to be changed.

Rune, a Danish 22-year-old who had already reached the semi-finals of the Nordic Open in Stockholm, was forced to retire with an injury after defeating Frenchman Ugo Humbert by a set.

Aneke, Rune’s mother, later claimed that medical professionals had informed her that her son’s injury was “very bad.”

She continued, “They are undoubtedly certain that it is a torn Achilles tendon, so it’s obviously very bad.” Holger has been completely devastated. They claim to be able to see it with their eyes.

On X, Draper wrote that “injuries are going to happen… we are pushing our bodies to do things in elite sport.”

I’m proud to be a part of the tour because we currently have so many incredible younger men.

After stumbling to his chair, Rune, who was suffering from a hamstring issue at the time of the match, recognized the extent of his injury and was emotional as he underwent treatment.

After jumping to hit a ball at the back of the court, he pulled up in pain, leaving Rune with a serve lead of 6-4, 2 and the match level at 40-40.

Humbert responded, “It wasn’t the way I wanted to win.” I’m so disappointed in Holger, but I’m hoping he’s alright.

I wish him a quick recovery. I’m so sorry for Holger, even though he was playing a little bit better than I was.

After struggling with injuries and illness at last week’s Shanghai Masters, Novak Djokovic also retired on Saturday after losing the first set of his third-place play-off against Taylor Fritz at the Saudi Arabian exhibition event.

Naomi Osaka, who had a leg issue before her quarter-final on Friday, was the most prominent player to withdraw from a tournament due to injury.

Iga Swiatek, a former world no. 1 for women, complained in September that the China Open is “too long and intense” despite a string of player injuries.

After being forced to retire from her two previous matches due to illness, British number one Emma Raducanu called it quits on Thursday.

‘Devastated’ Rune latest to have season cut short

Holger Rune, the 11th-ranked player, became the most famous tennis player to have his season prematurely ended due to a broken leg at the Stockholm Nordic Open.

The Danish 22-year-old was forced to retire when leading Frenchman Ugo Humbert by a set and hoping to make it back to the top 10.

Aneke Rune, his mother, later reported to Danish newspaper BT that medical professionals had informed her that her son’s injury was “very bad.”

She continued, “They are undoubtedly certain that it is a torn Achilles tendon, so it’s obviously very bad.” Holger is, of course, completely devastated.

They claim to be able to see it with their own eyes.

I’m so sorry for Holger, but it was a great match because he was playing a little bit better than I was.

Novak Djokovic retired later on Saturday after losing to Taylor Fritz in the first set of his Saudi Arabian sixth-ranked play-off.

Naomi Osaka, who had a leg issue before her quarter-final on Friday, was the most prominent player to withdraw from a tournament due to injury.

Iga Swiatek, a former world no. 1 for women, complained in September that the China Open is “too long and too intense” amid a string of injuries suffered by players.

EastEnders Max Bowden and Katie McGlynn confirm romance with steamy display

Max Bowden, a former EastEnders actor, and Katie McGlynn, a Coronation Street actress, kept it civilized by confirming their romance with a steamy kiss.

Soap stars Katie McGlynn and Max Bowden were spotted sharing a passionate kiss, following the revelation of their romance. The duo, who have been co-starring in the touring play Murder at Midnight, have been seen growing closer during nights out.

It was revealed how the pair, Katie, 32, and Max, 30, were often seen hand-in-hand during pub outings. One photo captured the couple sharing an intimate kiss, while another showed them strolling hand-in-hand, clearly displaying their affection for each other.

Katie, known for her role as Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street, and Max, famed for his portrayal of Ben Mitchell in EastEnders, have both had their fair share of romantic entanglements.

In pictures obtained by The Sun, the pair dressed down as they walked hand-in-hand, with Max opting for a pair of joggers and a sweater, which he paired with trainers. Meanwhile, Katie embraced the colder weather, wrapping herself up in a long coat, while adding an extra layer with a hoodie and trainers.

Max is no stranger to dating co-stars, having previously been linked with EastEnders’ Shona McGarty, who played Whitney Dean, and Danielle Harold, whom he secretly dated for over a year before parting ways.

The couple recently hit the headlines when it was revealed they were no longer on speaking terms and had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Max’s most recent relationship was with actress and director Tori Allen-Martin, which ended after six months.

A telly insider once said, “Max just can’t help himself when it comes to his co-stars.” He has that vivacious energy that the ladies seem to adore.

Additionally, Ricky Rayment, a former member of The Only Way Is Essex, and Katie recently broke up. According to a source, “Katie and Ricky’s romance has ended. They’re still friends and want to stay friendly, but it’s unquestionably over in terms of a romantic relationship.” Even though they lived miles apart from one another, it was difficult for them to date, they continued, “But ultimately it wasn’t meant to be.”

Just six months after the pair started dating, it became clear that Max had broken up with Tori Allen-Martin, his girlfriend. Their romance, according to reports at the time, “fizzled out.” After working together in the musical Midnight Cowboy, the pair quickly developed a close relationship and eventually became “inseparable.”

After the pair began working on the Murder at Midnight touring production, Max, 30, is said to have reportedly grown to know Katie, 32. Although it is thought that the two have known each other for a while, their road trips have reportedly sparked a romantic chemistry.

According to a source, “they were in the soap world for a while, where everyone is known.” They continued, “They have a lot in common and both have found themselves single while touring.” They get along well and have been together for some time; it’s obvious they have feelings for one another. Who is aware of what lies ahead?

Max and Tori have previously dated several co-stars. He had a romantic relationship with Whitney Dean, who was his former EastEnders coworker. Later, he and Danielle Harold, who played Lola Pearce, started dating, but it’s claimed that the pair are no longer speaking up.

A source earlier this year claimed that Diane and Max had been dating for a while. Everyone in the EastEnders cast, however, thought it was sweet together, and it was well known. They have even unfollowed one another on Instagram, which is unacceptable. Their relationship hasn’t been ended in the best of terms. After being friends, coworkers, and romantically involved for so long, there are many emotions.

Fans of the BBC One soap opera Max recently made a dramatic comeback to Walford, sparking a furore among them. His final appearance on the show, which aired on March 28, 2024, was his last appearance on the show, which was Lola’s cancer treatment. Ben was imprisoned after he allegedly cheated up money in the US in an attempt to raise money for her.

However, it was speculated that Bowden would return for a number of episodes after Chris Clenshaw, the show’s previous boss, left. Producer Ben Wadey reached out to Bowden later to confirm this. The actor’s scheduled return for just two episodes was made public in August.

Max and Katie’s representatives have been in touch with The Mirror.
