Cunha Scores First Man Utd Goal In Win Over Brighton

As Ruben Amorim’s revitalized side rolled to a 4-2 victory against Brighton on Saturday following Matthew Cunha’s first goal for Manchester United.

After moving from Wolves to start paying off his £62.5 million ($83 million) transfer fee in the first half, Brazilian forward Cunha scored in the first half to start paying his £62.5 million ($83 million) transfer fee. He has now played eight games without scoring in all competitions.

Before the break, Casemiro doubled United’s lead, and Bryan Mbeumo scored the winning goal.

For Brighton to salvage a point, it was a late goal from Danny Welbeck against his former club and a stoppage-time effort from Charalampos Kostoulas.

Under Amorim’s successor Erik ten Hag, Mbeumo scored a third successive Premier League victory at the death to give United three straight victories for the first time since February 2024.

United’s confident display was in line with their momentum from last weekend’s win over Liverpool and Sunderland, which were their first victories at Anfield since 2016.

Much-Needed Boost

After a difficult start to the season, Amorim had a much-needed boost thanks to that team’s 2-1 victory over the Premier League champions.

Now that United have won the Premier League, they are now in fourth place ahead of the rest of the weekend’s fixtures.

In all competitions, Brighton had won in six of their previous eight games against United and had won in three of those three games.

Despite the absence of Harry Maguire, the match-winning hero, in the injured lineup, United put an end to that shocking sequence.

The Portugal midfielder should have scored the opening goal of the game when Bruno Fernandes, who is now in his 300th game for United, should have signaled the occasion.

Unmarked from close range, United’s captain Fernandes dragged his header wide with the only goal available.

United Clinical

In the 24th minute, Fernandes and Casemiro scored a sweet strike that gave Bart Verbruggen no chance as it raced into the far corner, paying tribute to Amorim’s team’s early barrage.

More than any other Premier League player in any other division has scored seven goals outside of the area since the start of the current season.

In the 34th minute, Casemiro added his Brazilian counterpart to the score sheet.

Casemiro needed a little luck to net for the second time this term if Cunha’s goal was superbly crafted and finished.

Verbruggen was caught wrong-footed as it spooked Brighton’s Yasin Ayari with a wicked deflection from Casemiro’s shot as it scurried uncontrollably over the line.

After posting their worst top-flight performance since 1973-74 last year, United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe recently announced that the under-fire Amorim would receive three years to regain control of the organization.

While some questioned Ratcliffe’s commitment to his word if United kept struggling, Amorim would have been happy to see his employer cheering and clapping as the hosts took control.

At halftime, United had a 2-0 lead at Old Trafford, which is never a Premier League loss.

Mbeumo ensured that statistic would continue when the Cameroon forward scored in the 61st minute to Brighton’s dismay, who claimed Luke Shaw had a foul in the build-up.

Mbeumo’s fourth goal came after his close-season move from Brentford, keeping the momentum up from his previous effort against Liverpool.

United’s nerves began to jangle when Welbeck delivered a superb free kick in the 74th minute.

After James Milner’s corner came in the final few seconds, their hearts began to race even faster.

Mbeumo, however, sprinted onto Fernandes’ pass and fired home via the crossbar with the final kick to quench the growing anxiety.

The Flamingos, one of the best losers, won with a brace from Queen Joseph, one from Azeezat Oduntan, and one from Shakirat Moshood, who added one more to their overall record.

Prior to Group D’s clash with Samoa, Coach Bankole Olowookere’s girls lost to Canada and France in their opening two games.

Nigeria had to score at least two goals against the Oceania side to advance to the next stage.

They did it in style, with Joseph, who was only 13 minutes into the game when he found the net.

Moshood scored the West Africans in Morocco two minutes before the half-hour mark.

After a VAR review, she converted from the spot and fired the wrong way at Samoa’s goalkeeper.

By the time it was 34 minutes, Tabitha Terlumu had provided a brilliant assist to finish Joseph’s brace.

Just two minutes into the second half, Moshood would have scored her brace.

Grace Ae, a Samoan goalkeeper, saved her penalty in the 47th minute, though.

However, in the 68th minute, Oduntan made a stunning strike that sent the ball into the top corner.

The Flamingos put forth a fifth goal attempt on numerous occasions.

But they were able to advance to the Round of 16 by winning the game by 0-4. With a +3 goal difference, Nigeria came to an end.

With a 2-1 victory over France, Canada took the lead in Group D, placing Nigeria third.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Vicky Pattison in tears as she makes candid confession

Vicky Pattison, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, opened up about her experience on the show, which she claims is making her a “better version” of herself. She was left in tears as she spoke openly about it.

Vicky Pattison’s emotions poured out during Strictly Come Dancing’s icons week. The former Geordie Shore star, 37, reflected on the person she used to be and who she is now before she transformed into Cheryl Tweedy for an impressive routine.

As the pre-dance video rolled, Vicky said: “I first started out in this industry at about 21 and I made some bad decisions. I just don’t think at that age I had the tools to navigate that space I was in. Now I do my best to be a better version of myself – someone I can look in the mirror and feel alright about.”

She continued, “You can achieve things with determination and a little self-belief,” as she had previously said. The Girls Aloud star’s song Fight for this Love, which she opened up about this week, is tearfully stated in the opening line: “It is a very important song to me. the notion that a setback is more important than a comeback.

You can live the life you want, he says. The narrative can be altered. Using the past to define who you are, you can be who you want to be. That is really powerful, in my opinion. I worked on myself, and now I’m in a wonderful place, and I’m finally a woman I’m proud of.

Vicky’s personal message and her idol sent her a personal message following her dance left her speechless. Cheryl, a reality TV star who had been informed that she had been monitoring her progress, couldn’t help but gasp and jump around as she appeared on camera.

Cheryl thanked her fellow Geordie and said she was honored and humbled to have chosen her as her icon. Because you’re a Geordie, Cheryl continued, “I know you’ve got it in you.”

“So proceed and leave that place. I’m scheming to send you lots of love if you fight for your place. From home, I’ll be rooting for you. Vicky joked that Cheryl didn’t even realize who she was as she continued to flaunt her disbelief at the message.

Ellie Goldstein received a personal message of her own earlier on the program. Emma Bunton surprised her with a touching message after dancing a salsa to a song by the Spice Girls dressed as Baby Spice.

And fans spotted the sweet moment Ellie’s dance partner Vito Coppola moved to make sure she was okay. After staring down at the star, Vito appeared to wipe away a tear from her eye as the judges gave the duo positive feedback following their routine.

One user gushed, “Vito checking on Ellie and wiping away a tear,” on the former Twitter account X. They also included crying emoji faces in their commentary, #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.

Newcastle United’s passing was quickly approaching.

The hosts were preparing to draw 1-1 against Fulham at St James’ Park with 90 minutes remaining.

However, Bruno Guimaraes, the captain, maintained his convictions.

The Brazilian was trying his hardest to influence the outcome with his mentality and fitness.

When visiting keeper Bernd Leno was unable to parry substitute William Osula’s shot into the path of the midfielder, Guimaraes lashed the ball into the net in front of the Gallowgate End, the crowd was in wistful.

He said, “We can’t play the game the way it always will, but we must find the three points,” and we succeeded in doing this. “We fight until the very end, Newcastle,” I recall.

After being the target of late sucker punches against Brighton, Arsenal, and Liverpool this season, Fulham’s players appeared understandably disoriented, and their counterparts are aware of this.

However, Eddie Howe’s team rallied on Saturday to take all three points with a stunning victory.

Bench has a significant influence

Other people stepped up this afternoon.

In the Premier League, Nick Woltemade had scored four of Newcastle’s previous five goals.

However, his team did not have their record-keeping printed on the scoresheet when they won their first top-flight game this year.

The forward was Newcastle’s biggest threat in the first half when he opened the scoring, scoring his first of the campaign.

In the opening moments, he struck the post outside, but Leno had better have doubled the lead when he had been knocked down.

Howe had the luxury of turning to a stacked bench right away following Sasa Lukic’s equalizer, but Newcastle’s failure to capitalize on Murphy’s opener might have cost them.

The arrival of energetic forwards Anthony Elanga and Osula late on followed a triple change, sending on Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, and Fabian Schar for Lewis Miley, Murphy, and Sven Botman, who had to go off with a cut.

Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, was forced to hold his hands up in the absence of a number of injured players.

He claimed that they began to take greater risks. They “pressed us higher,” they said. They worked hard on the frontline. All three of the frontline players were able to be replaced.

“Belief that you have players who can choose games”

In the lead up to Newcastle’s winner, Elanga and Osula ultimately played significant roles.

Before feeding Osula out to the right, Swede Elanga dispossessed Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon.

The Danish frontman drove forward before cutting inside and letting fly from the edge of the area as he matured into a player capable of playing games at this level. He scored against champions Liverpool earlier this year.

Guimaraes knocked in the rebound when Newcastle desperately needed their captain, despite Leno making the initial save.

Michael Carrick, a Match of the Day pundit, made no mistake when Guimaraes played 90 minutes of his team’s match against Benfica on Tuesday night.

According to the former Manchester United midfielder, “He always provides that leadership on the pitch.” He serves as the stadium’s talisman and adds that extra energy when the fans are turned up. For Newcastle, it has a big, big goal.

Newcastle moved up to 10th place as a result of that goal.

Of course, that’s not where they want to go, but this still felt significant.

In addition to claiming three victories, three draws, and three losses in the Premier League last season, Newcastle also qualified for the Champions League, putting an end to a 70-year search for a significant domestic trophy.

And Howe believes that “the best is still in store for us.”

When you score late goals, “we have seen many times historically, it’s not just the game you’ve won,” he continued.

There’s more faith that you can find a winner, that you have players who can decide games, in our opinion, if the mood, even the attitude are changed once more while we’re in that position.
