Rodney Parade Date: Sunday, April 20th Kick-off: 5:00 BST
Wales’ penultimate Women’s Six Nations game against Ireland will be played on Sunday under the direction of Alex Callender.
The 24-year-old back row has been one of Wales’ standout players in recent years, but she has not yet played in the campaign due to a foot injury sustained against Harlequins.
As Wales attempt to capture their first victory in 2025 and a first under new head coach Sean Lynn, Callender makes his debut in the top eight-minute slot.
Kelsey Jones is preferred as the starting hooker while Georgia Evans moves to the second row.
Lleucu George, who was unavailable for the defeat in France, is named as one of the replacements, while Kayleigh Powell maintains her position at fly-half.
As Wales attempt to improve their physicality in the middle, Courtney Keight once more partners captain Hannah Jones in the center.
Wales, which has lost to Scotland, England, and France, is currently at the bottom of the Six Nations table, while Ireland, who have won only once, are third.
With a 36-5 victory over Ireland in Cork, the two teams’ final meeting will be decided as favorites for Rodney Parade.
We need to keep improving our performances and focusing on developing our play style and what we want to achieve as a squad, according to Wales head coach Sean Lynn. This is our final game at home in the Guinness Six Nations.
The players have grown to accept the attacking tactic we are using, but we need to work harder for one another and use the pressure points we are putting forth.
Ireland has demonstrated their quality throughout the tournament, and we are aware of what they will bring.

Former Rochdale midfielder Joe Thompson has died at the age of 36.
He was diagnosed with cancer for a third time in April last year, five years after he retired from playing.
Thompson was found to have stage four lymphoma – a type of blood cancer – which had spread to his lungs after twice recovering from the disease during his playing career.
The Bath-born player began and finished his career with Rochdale, and had three spells with the club.
Rochdale said they were “devastated” and that he had passed away peacefully at home on Thursday with his family by his side.
“We first knew Joe primarily as a talented footballer, but we would soon grow to adore his loving, infectious personality,” Rochdale said.
“He faced every battle head-on, both on and off the pitch. His journey and indomitable spirit have been an inspiration for everyone who has been touched by his story.
“Above all of that, Joe was a loving husband to Chantelle and an incredible father to Thailula and Athena Rae.
Thompson was first diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2013 and again in 2017.
But, after twice being given the all-clear, he notably went on to score the goal which saw Rochdale avoid relegation from League One in 2018.

Thompson came through Manchester United’s academy from the age of nine before going on to join Dale, where he spent the majority of his 13-year career.
He also played for Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Southport and Bury.
He was first diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma while at Tranmere in 2013 and was given the all-clear the following year.
After being diagnosed with cancer again in March 2017 during his third spell with Dale, he was able to return to football during the 2017-18 season after being told he was in “complete remission”.
In his finest moment for Rochdale, Thompson scored against Charlton Athletic to secure their place in League One for another season, describing his goal as “written in the stars, fate, destiny”.
Following the end of his playing career, Thompson worked in the media as a pundit as well as mentoring and as a motivational speaker.
In October 2024, he took part in a 21-mile fundraising walk in order to raise awareness of cancer treatments following his third diagnosis.

Tributes to Thompson poured in following news of his passing.
Manchester United described him as “a man who epitomised our club’s values,” before adding: “We are saddened to share that Joe Thompson has passed away.
“A warm personality who had a deep connection with our club from a young age, our thoughts are with Joe’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Tranmere said: “The club sends its condolences to his wife Chantelle, children Thailula-Lily and Athena Rae, his family and friends.
“Joe was an inspiration to all those who knew him. The Club asks supporters to join in a minute’s applause starting on seven minutes of today’s home game against Doncaster Rovers.”
A statement from Carlisle said: “Everybody at Carlisle United is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former player Joe Thompson. Joe was an inspiration to all those who knew him.

Bury said: “We are saddened to hear the passing of former Shaker Joe Thompson. Joe made four appearances for the club during the 2014/15 season. Our thoughts are with Joe’s family and friends at this sad time. RIP Joe – Once A Shaker Always A Shaker.”
Southport said: “We are devastated to learn of the passing of former player Joe Thompson. We send our deepest condolences to all of Joe’s friends and family at this tough time.”
In 2019, Thompson received The Sir Tom Finney Award at the annual EFL Awards ceremony, an honour presented to a player who has had an outstanding career and contributed an exception amount to The Football League and game in general.
The EFL described Thompson as “an inspiration to so many” and added: “The EFL is deeply saddened by the passing of Joe Thompson. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and former clubs at this very difficult time.”
Chesney Hawkes shocked Celebrity Big Brother fans with his surprising sex club confessions and stripping off for TV. Now, his wife, Krissy, and daughter, Jesse, sit down to exclusively reveal what the star is like behind closed doors – and their emotional response to the headlines he’s made…
In an exclusive interview, Chesney Hawkes’ wife has issued a surprise update on his sex club confession on Celebrity Big Brother(Image: Mike Marsland/WireImage)
He’s been making waves since he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house with his shock confessions and penchant for wandering around in the buff. Pop star Chesney Hawkes has been married to Krissy since 1997 and as we catch up with his wife – as well as their 21-year-old daughter, student Jesse – it’s clear they couldn’t be prouder of the One And Only singer, who is also dad to Casey, 23, and Indi, 19.
Here, Krissy and Jesse talk about what fans would be surprised to know about 53-year-old Chesney and what Krissy really makes of his saucy confession to housemates that they had once been in a sex club where he was whipped by “a very muscly butch guy in a thong” – and then by her!

So, what’s it been like watching Chesney in the Celebrity Big Brother house?
Krissy: Chesney is Chesney. What you see is what you get.

Jesse: He really is just himself.
What would surprise people most about him behind closed doors?
Jesse: Definitely how clumsy he is.
Krissy: My mum actually bought us these “unbreakable” plates from the States, but Chesney still manages to break them regularly. There’s also a classic story in our family, from when we got married in Indiana. We were playing wiffle ball in the backyard, Chesney ran to catch a
ball, looking up at the sky and crashed right into a tree – snapped it clean. From that day, he was nicknamed Tree Breaker.
Jesse, you were there when he entered the house. What was that experience like?
Jesse: Surreal. I’m at uni so I don’t see him that often. Seeing him walk up that stage was very emotional.
What did you think when he said he was doing the show?
Krissy: It was definitely a surprise. But one thing about Chesney is that he loves a challenge. Also, a close friend of his who passed away in January had told him, “Just say yes to things,” and that really inspired him to go for it.
Jesse: He was unsure at first, then he really went for it. I was proud of him for saying yes to something so out of his comfort zone.
Has anything surprised you about what he’s up to so far?
Krissy: The dad dancing. I always say he’s an amazing singer – but dancing is not his strong suit.
Jesse: Yeah, very much “dad dance” vibes.

Let’s talk about Chesney stripping naked for TV…
Jesse: Good for him. It’s a little weird for me as his daughter, but it’s his thing. He’s just really free. I can’t be biased just because I’m his kid.
Krissy: It comes from a place of, “I’m 53 and – in his words – f**k it! I don’t care what anybody thinks.” But, he’s not going around the house naked, he’s not a nudist – he just enjoys feeling free and being in nature. It’s about not taking yourself too seriously.
Krissy, Chesney dropped a bombshell about you whipping him during a sex club visit…
Krissy: OK, let’s clear that up… it wasn’t a sex club per se. It was a bar in LA with a little area upstairs – we popped up there for a second and thought, “Why not?” It was a one-off, spontaneous moment – not something we’ve got booked in the calendar regularly! For us, it’s all about fun and spontaneity.

Do you think he could win?
Jesse: I mean, part of me wants him to be evicted so I can see him again. Jokes aside though, I want him to go far. He seems really happy.
Krissy: Yeah, he’s loving the experience. He’s someone who wants to see things through once he’s started something.
What do you think he’s found hardest about being in the CBB house?
Krissy: Being away from us. We’re a close family and talk all the time.
Jesse: Even when he’s touring and loses signal for a day, he struggles. This is the longest we’ve gone without speaking. He brought a jacket from each of us to wear in the house – really sweet.
Who has he bonded with most in the house?
Krissy: He’s very genuine, so I believe any connection he’s made is real. I saw him taking tea and facemasks to Danny [Beard] and Angellica [Bell], and chatting with JoJo [Siwa] too.
Jesse: I don’t think there’s anyone he couldn’t have a good laugh with.
Chesney’s family say he could have a laugh with anyone – but they weren’t fans of Mickey Rourke(Image: ITV)
Anyone in there you’re not so keen on – or Chesney might not be?
Jesse: There was – Mickey Rourke. I wasn’t a fan.
Krissy: No one specifically, but if anyone’s being disruptive – like keeping people up at night – that would wind him up.
Mickey made a controversial comment to JoJo about her sexuality. Jesse, given that your dad had mentioned you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, how did you feel seeing that?
Jesse: When Mickey said that thing to JoJo – and my dad had previously mentioned that I, his kid, am part of the community – a lot of people got mad at him for not speaking up. But you don’t see everything. You see 45 minutes out of his 24-hour day and he’s the type of person who would have stepped in if needed. He would’ve spoken up. I really don’t like people saying bad things about my dad on that topic or saying I’d be disappointed in him – because I wouldn’t. It was making me upset seeing those comments because they don’t know what happened in there.
Jesse shares that it was upsetting to see people suggest he wasn’t standing up for JoJo in the house (Image: WireImage)
If you could sneak a message in, what would it say?
Jesse: That I’m so proud of him – and I’m stressed about my dissertation!
What do you miss most about Chesney?
Krissy: I miss our conversations and that connection – his hugs and the physical touch.
Which housemates are you looking forward to meeting?
Jesse: JoJo because we’re the same age.
Krissy: Donna [Preston] and Angellica seem fun – and Danny.
What‘s the first thing Chesney will do when he gets home?
Article continues below
Krissy: Sit on the stairs and let the dogs climb all over him. We have two – a big one called Finn, who he says is the love of his life, and a little one, Mischief.

Considerably capable, do you think he will prevail?
Jesse: I mean, part of me wants him to be evicted so I can see him again. Jokes aside though, I want him to go far. He seems really happy.
Yes, he’s enjoying the experience, Krissy. Once he’s started something, he wants to see things through.
What aspect of the CBB house, in your opinion, has he found the most challenging?
Krissy: I’m far from home. We have a long, friendly conversation.
Jesse: He struggles even when he’s on tour and has a day’s worth of signal loss. We haven’t spoken in a while as of this point. We each received a jacket from him to wear in the living room, which is really sweet.
In the house, with whom has he most bonded?
Krissy: Given that he is very real, I think any connection he makes is real. I witnessed him chatting with JoJo Siwa and Danny [Beard] and Angellica [Bell] and consuming tea and facemasks.

The band’s drummer Nick Mason has dubbed a newly restored version of the groundbreaking 1972 film Pink Floyd “moving and entertaining.”
From April 24th, Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII has been re-mastered with enhanced audio, enhanced audio, and heads to theaters and IMAX® worldwide. Mason, however, discussed the movie and its impact during a special VIP screening on Thursday night.
He continued, “Over the years, looking back at something like this, I must say, I found it quite moving and entertaining.
One of the things about the movie is how few cuts, roll backs, and drop ins are there. Adrian Maben, who actually came up with this idea, should be mentioned. We were blatantly unaware of this at the time! Adrian worked really hard to get us to travel to Italy and produce this film.
“This film was very much put together by outsiders, by Adrian, unlike most of the things we did,” he said. The thing about it that worked was that he had an audience-free live performance that we didn’t and did not see. Even without the audience, this arena and amphitheater had the vibe of a full-fledged concert.

Additionally, the movie includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from Abbey Road Studios’ beginning of The Dark Side of the Moon.
Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon
The project that followed this one became a favorite of the fans and the biggest album ever. Nick Mason remarked on why Pink Floyd fans adore this time period, saying: “
“I don’t know,” I believe it’s a case of people getting hooked into something that’s completely different from what used to exist. The scene in studio two of the movie, which I recall watching, is one I recall watching. We were able to enter the small glass box at the top of the studio and watch the Beatles in that same room three years prior. You might be thinking, “Okay, things do move along, don’t they?” at this point.
The Dark Side of the Moon was released before Pink Floyd At Pompeii. The movie documents Pink Floyd’s exploits before it dominated the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic, where their music continues to be cherished today.
This unique and immersive film, which takes place inside the hauntingly beautiful Roman Amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy, captures Pink Floyd giving a private performance without audience. The performance, which was released in October 1971, features the storied “Echoes,” “A Saucerful of Secrets,” and “One of These Days,” which was Pompeii’s first live concert. The magic of the performance is enhanced by the amphitheatre’s captured images both during the day and at night.
The original 35mm cut negative was found in five obscenely labeled cans within Pink Floyd’s own archives, and the movie has been meticulously restored, frame by frame.
May 2 will see the release of a live album to accompany the movie.
Over 50 years ago, this groundbreaking discovery revealed the exact movie that was projected through the cameras in those scorching days amid the ruins of Pompeii.

The upcoming theatrical release features the definitive version of this groundbreaking movie, which was digitally remastered in 4K from the 35mm original footage and enhanced audio that Steven Wilson had recently mixed.
