Benson Boone suggests ‘super valid’ reasons to hate him as he hits back at critics

The singer and songwriter, who was nominated for 2025 Grammys as the best new artist, claimed it was because people “loved” him but it “feels right” to him.

Benson Boone criticizes who claim they “hate him” for no “good reason” and “for no particular reason.”

Benson Boone has hit out critics for saying they hate him without any “good reason”. The US singer-songwriter, 22, who recently performed with Queen guitarist Sir Brian May at the California festival Coachella, had the world ’s best-selling digital single of 2024 with Beautiful Things.

He has also been nominated for best new artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards after the release of his debut album Fireworks And Rollerblades last year.

He posted a video of himself on TikTok with the statement, “If you hate me or my music, at least have a good reason for it.” He said this in response to comments made by others who claimed they were unsure of Benson Boone’s motivations but it “feels right.”

Boone continued, “Like what!!” How can I get better now that I’ve read that sentence? Then, he suggested, “He lowkey just flips everywhere, can he doing anything else?” or even “I just don’t like his songs despite the fact that I base my opinion on the one I’ve heard repeatedly” (super valid)).

He was also alleged to be “literally giving you ideas” to post hateful messages to him, according to the post.

Boone, who was born in Washington, won the global single award for 2024 for the most popular track across digital formats after topping the UK singles chart in February.

He defeated Billie Eilish, Birds of a Feather, Teddy Swims, Teddy, and Sabrina Carpenter, who finished second with Espresso and Shaboozey, who finished fifth with A Bar Song (Tipsy).

After giving an appearance as suspended in the air while playing a golden piano, Boone won the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) for his best new act in November.

This month, his Coachella set featured Sir Brian May on a rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. Sir Brian, 77, called him “a truly golden 22-year-old prodigy”, and said he was “proud and happy to say we are now officially pals” on his Instagram.

Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975 and is one of the best-selling UK singles of all time. It has also earned the extremely rare accolade of being crowned the UK’s Christmas number one twice, first in 1975 and again in 1991 when it was re-released alongside These Are The Days Of Our Lives, following Mercury’s death. Freddie died aged 45 in 1991 following health complications relating to Aids.

Boone’s second album, American Heart, will be released on June 20. His flashy dress sense has also become a pop culture phenomenon, with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg wearing a tear-away suit to reveal a sequinned blue jumpsuit similar to the one Boone wore at the Grammys.

When he performed as Boone, Zuckerberg was celebrating his wife’s birthday. Your wife only turns 40 once, he wrote in the February post! Thanks to @bensonboone for the new single and jumpsuit.

Celebrity Big Brother fans fume as ‘disrespectful’ Chris Hughes kisses JoJo Siwa

Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa sparked major chaos in unreleased footage from the Celebrity Big Brother livestream after sharing a private moment in the hot tub at the home.

Celebrity Big Brother fans were left buzzing after unseen livestream footage captured a steamy moment between Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa in the show’s secret hot tub hideaway.

While ITV viewers didn’t get a glimpse of the scene during regular broadcasts, eagle-eyed fans tuning into the 24/7 feed caught Chris, 32, and JoJo, 21, looking extra cosy as they soaked in the bubbles alongside a few housemates.

This flirty exchange comes on the heels of earlier footage showing the pair sharing another intimate moment. In the latest clip, Love Island star Chris gently wraps his arm around JoJo and presses two kisses to her forehead as she leans comfortably against him – a sweet gesture that quickly made its way onto social media – but not everyone is pleased.

Taking to X and Reddit to share their thoughts on the pair’s bond, viewers didn’t hold back. “I don’t care what anyone says anymore!!!! Chris and JoJo’s relationship and how they act with one another is so inappropriate. Imagine JoJo’s girlfriend watching this. She’s not going to be okay with this behaviour,” one fumed.

Another fan insisted: “Chris knows exactly what he’s doing and it’s just f***ing weird at this point.” Someone else echoed: “What I don’t understand is how the rest of the housemates are not deeply uncomfortable with that behaviour. Chris kissing JoJo on the forehead and her basically being on top of him in the hottub. I know that would really p**s me off.”

After JoJo spotted rubbing Chris’ leg during a previous hot tub session, which has fueled even more rumors about their relationship, the chemistry between them has become a hot topic online.

In a heartfelt conversation with Drag Race alum Danny Beard, JoJo, who is currently dating non-binary actor Kath Ebbs, recently revealed her evolving identity. JoJo admitted to feeling so queer about Danny and confided in him. I’ve never told myself I’m a lesbian, which I believe I’ve always done. I believe that being here has made me realize that I am not a lesbian and queer.

She exclaimed, “I think that’s really cool, I’m switching letters! I switched to the Q baby after removing the L! That’s what I enjoy most about sexuality.

Danny, who uses the pronoun “they/them” in response, jokingly said, “And you know what British people love more than anything” “to queue”

JoJo had previously come out as pansexual in 2021, but more recently described herself as gay in interviews. Speaking on Paul C Brunson’s podcast We Need To Talk before entering the Big Brother house, she reflected: “One I’m still on for sure. I never thought twice about anything.”

Some viewers are confused by JoJo’s evolving labels and her blossoming friendship with Chris. The pair have always been linked, and housemates frequently accuse them of isolating themselves from the group.

When Daley Thompson exited the show, he suggested their tight-knit bond might be a calculated move to snag more airtime. Fellow evicted housemate Ella Rae Wise went even further, accusing Chris of cozying up to the Dance Moms alum to tap into her massive social media influence, which boasts over 80 million followers.

Chris hit back emotionally, slamming the accusations as unfair. In a teary moment in the Diary Room, he shared his frustration: “I’m exhausted in this house to be honest. I think I’m too normal and lead a stress-free life. If people have things to say just say it and air it.”

He continued, “I detest toxic things in life. I detest obnoxious energy. You are only made worse by it. When energy shifts, you can feel it. Although I don’t want to be sad or emotional, there are times when you just can’t stop crying.

Celebrity Big Brother will continue tonight on ITV at 9 p.m.

Prince Harry’s ‘bitter’ reason for UK security battle – and ‘it’s not to bring family here’

One expert thinks there is another big factor to why Prince Harry is at the center of a legal dispute over the safety of bringing his children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK.

Prince Harry is still waiting in limbo for the outcome of a legal battle he has described as his most important. The Duke of Sussex was at the Court of Appeal earlier this month for the latest stage of a legal battle with the Home Office over the level of taxpayer-funded personal security he should receive when visiting the UK.

In February 2020, the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) decided he should receive a different degree of taxypayer-funded protection when in the country after quitting as a working royal. He is appealing against a High Court ruling dismissing his case against the Home Office over the decision last year.

At the heart of the case, Harry says he cannot bring his wife Meghan or children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK as it is not safe for them. He has previously argued that he wants his children to know their British heritage but coming to the UK without police protection is too dangerous.

However, according to royal expert Jennie Bond, the battle is also about proving a point, rather than Harry wanting to bring his children to the UK.

The former BBC royal correspondent told the Mirror: “I think Harry is sincere when he says he wants his children to know and understand their heritage. And he has said publicly that he wants his father and his brother back in his life.

“But we now also know that this issue of security is like a red rag to a bull for Harry. He says it is more important than any of his other legal battles. He has a deep-rooted sense of injustice – he believes there was some kind of conspiracy to keep him ‘trapped’ within the Royal Family and to prevent him and his family from leaving the UK. And he seems intent on proving that to be the case.

“I don’t believe that his wife and children are really the object of our discussion,” he said. More to his ire is due to his disdain for the way he perceives himself.

The duke requested protection after being threatened by terrorists, according to a summary of some of the evidence that was presented in private during Harry’s appeal case last week. The Appellant confirmed that al-Qaida had threatened to harm him, the document read. With “additional layers of racism and extremism,” Harry has previously claimed that his late mother and him are more vulnerable than her.

He claims that al-Qaida has called for his assassination and that his family is “a threat to the international community.” Ravec’s decision, shared on February 28, 2020, stated that Metropolitan Police protection would no longer be appropriate following the Sussexes’ departure from the UK and that they should be given a different level of protection while they are present.

Instead, The Sussexes would be required to give a “bespoke” security service, with each visit being evaluated for threat levels and need for protection. This would be done by giving them 30 days’ notice of any plans to visit the UK.

The issue of security has also reportedly proved to be a thorn in the side of the relationship between Harry and his father King Charles. People magazine reported that the divide between the pair has widened, with their last face-to-face meeting taking place in February 2024 after Charles announced his cancer diagnosis.

According to sources close to Harry, the King is reportedly keeping his distance to avoid getting involved in security discussions, despite the King’s calls and letters remaining unanswered. After some private witness testimony, the duke claimed that “people would be shocked by what is being held back” and that the appeal outcome would be discussed with The Telegraph.

Jennie continued, “Harry must now realize that he has placed his father in a very difficult position: suing the King’s own government.” And that makes it very difficult for Charles to have any conversations with Harry, even in the most difficult situations.

I wonder if Harry was aware of how difficult communication with his father at the beginning of this case. After the appeal judges’ decision is rendered, it will likely be time for everyone concerned to reevaluate the situation and assess the potential for improvement of family relations.

“But don’t hold your breath; Harry hasn’t made things any easier by urging the court to take this case to the highest level.”

Women’s schedule must change for player safety – Miedema

Images courtesy of Getty

Vivianne Miedema, a forward for Manchester City, has criticized the women’s football schedule and demanded that the calendar’s administrators put a premium on “players’ physical and mental safety.”

The 28-year-old is recovering from a hamstring injury that could have ended his season while he was playing for the Netherlands on international duty at the beginning of April.

In her final two seasons at Arsenal, she only made eight Women’s Super League (WSL) appearances after torn her left knee in December 2022, while earlier this season she was sidelined for more than three months with a knee injury.

Miedema wrote on Instagram, “It took me a few days to recover from being injured once more and to find the motivation to begin rehab.”

I’ve been extremely impatient and want things to move more quickly, but maybe that’s because I finally felt like myself again and enjoyed playing on the field despite the pressure of games.

Manchester City’s recent schedule has gotten them busy, playing eight games in 29 days over the course of March in four different competitions.

After playing for the national team for four days, she injured herself during the Netherlands’ Women’s Nations League game against Austria on April 8th.

Manager Nick Cushing’s side has nine first-team players injured, including Miedema, or have only recently returned to training after lengthy absences.

However, Manchester City is not the only city concerned with the schedule and player safety.

In order to accelerate research into reducing ACL injuries in women’s football, the players’ union Fifpro and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) collaborated with Leeds Beckett University in April 2024.

Women’s football has two to six times more of ACL injuries than men, and about two-thirds of them occur when there is no physical contact. However, it is unclear how to cut down on their frequency in the professional game.

Meanwhile, Fifpro and other top European leagues filed a lawsuit against world champion Fifa last July over its “abuse of dominance” in the game.
