Six minutes into Australia’s thrilling victory over Argentina 28-24 in the rugby championship, Angus Bell scored a stunning winning try from the opening hooter.

In the 79th minute, Juan Cruz Mallia had given Argentina a 21-21 lead before Bell went over the line after the Wallabies turned down three chances to equalize with a penalty.

“We could have gone for goal there and taken the draw,” said Australia captain Harry Wilson, whose side rallied from a 22-5 deficit to defeat South Africa 38-22 last month.

“Everyone believed that we would succeed,” the statement read. We might as well support boys if they want to win.

We weren’t at our best, but it’s a real credit to the boys for coming up against such a top-notch opposition.

Following their first home victory over New Zealand in their previous game, the Pumas made the trip to Queensland.

And despite a Nic White try for Australia, they were able to put them 21-7 up thanks to three penalties from Santi Carreras and tries from Mateo Carreras and Bautista Delguy.

Before the late drama gave the hosts a 21-21 lead, Joseph Suaalii’s two tries gave Australia a 21-21 lead.

According to Pumas skipper Julian Montoya, “It was far from a good performance.”
