According to officials, tornadoes and violent storms raked  throughout the central United States on Saturday, killing at least 33 people and injuring dozens more.
As forecasters warned of additional tornadoes this weekend, local news reported roofs being torn off homes and large trucks being flipped.
In Kansas, according to local police, there were eight fatalities in a collision involving more than 50 vehicles due to “severe dust storm” caused by poor visibility.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified 12 storm-related fatalities and provided images of boats piled on top of one another in a marina that had been completely destroyed by the weather.
The state police reported damage to buildings, power lines and trees, as well as “tornadoes, thunderstorms, and large hail” in some areas.

The governor of the state said in Mississippi that three people had gone missing late on Saturday and that six deaths had been reported.

According to officials in the state of Arkansas where the storm occurred, three people died and 29 were hurt.
In response, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she had spoken with President Donald Trump and declared a state of emergency.
Following last night’s tornadoes, Sanders wrote on X: “He said to tell the people of Arkansas that he loves them and that he and his administration are here to assist us with whatever we need.”
More tornadoes are forecast for the area.
