Shortly after the announcement of his not-guilty verdict, AAP Rocky hit the stores.

The rapper, 36, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was a relieved man as he walked free from a court in Los Angeles on Tuesday. As the verdict was read out, he jumped into Rihanna’s arms. After being accused of shooting Terrell Ephron in an altercation close to a hotel almost four years ago, he was facing a potential sentence of 24 years in prison.

The rapper repeatedly denied the allegations, and almost a month after the trial started in late January, a 12-person jury found him not guilty. “Thank y’all for saving my life”, Rocky gratefully expressed to the jury upon his acquittal in Los Angeles, adding “You’re making the right decision”.

Now, just a day after his trial ended, the star took to Beverly Hills for a shopping spree. He is said to have purchased a Rolex and some new clothes for his long-term partner while wearing a white hoody and baggy blue jeans.

Following the court hearing, Rihanna and Rocky have agreed to give their next child their name. The duo, who already have sons RZA, two, and 18-month-old Riot, said they wanted to make a show of gratitude to his attorney Joe Tacopina. Joe told Extra: “They grabbed me and they said, ‘ Listen, our next baby A $AP Joe. ‘ I said, ‘ I’m gonna hold you to that! ‘”

The lawyer noted his famous client had “said some very nice things” to him, adding: “He told me he loved me and we’re family”.

Following the verdict, it’s thought Rocky’s plan to buy out Tranmere Rovers, an English football team, is now getting closer. Although he had a lawsuit against him, he was in a relationship with an investment firm that was interested in buying the League Two team.

Now, however, it appears as though the Tranmere Rovers acquisition is firmly back in play and set to progress imminently. The rapper’s group is reportedly approaching a 80% share purchase of Tranmere. According to estimates, the transaction, which will take place from Mark and Nicola Palios, will be worth about $15 million.

Despite the expected change in majority ownership, Tranmere’s Indonesian backers, Santini Group, are expected to hold onto their stake and still be a part of the proceedings at Prenton Park even post-takeover.
