After being ruled out for at least two weeks, Michael Arteta claimed Bukayo Saka’s persistent hamstring injuries are a “big concern.”
In the second half of Arsenal’s win over Leeds last weekend, Saka was forced off, and he will miss Sunday’s trip to Liverpool, the Premier League champion.
The 23-year-old might be able to play again next month, but Gunners boss Arteta is concerned about his star forward’s ongoing injury cycle.
Following surgery on his right hamstring in December, Saka missed three and a half months of last season.
In his first game of the season, he made his second appearance since returning in April, where he played 13 games before suffering the most recent hamstring problem, this time in his left leg.
He doesn’t require surgery, he says. It isn’t as bad as the previous one. He will be out for a few weeks because he felt something, Arteta told reporters on Friday.
But it is a big concern, especially when a sprinter and a football player who frequently enters that zone need that burst, that change of pace to be as threatening as possible.
He will become stronger and we will discover why it happened once more. Unfortunately, accidents are a part of a career. To be fair, he hasn’t played many games since he was his age, but we want to end it. ”
For Arsenal’s opening game of the season against title rivals Liverpool at Anfield, Arteta might be without up to seven players.
While Martin Odegaard, Christian Norgaard, Leandro Trossard, and Ben White are all out, Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz are all gone.
INCLUDE Bellingham Apologises For ‘Repulsive’ Blast, according to Tuchel.

This week, Havertz had a minor surgical procedure performed on his knee, according to the club.
Odegaard might return for the win over Leeds if he awkwardly slams his shoulder.
Arteta of Havertz, who missed three months of last season with a hamstring injury, called it “very unfortunate and very sad for him.”
He recovered from the previous one incredibly well. He has never previously been injured. And then something unexpected occurs.
We will obviously lose another significant player for a number of weeks. But doing it was the right course of action. He was ultimately very convinced and given the doctors’ advice that this was the quickest and most effective way to solve the problem. ”
Arne Slot’s side finished last season as second only to Liverpool, falling 10 points behind.
When questioned about whether Liverpool is the favorite to win the title, Arteta responded, “The favorite is always the one that won the previous year.
Someone needs to come in and take their crown, so we’ll make an effort to do that. Better than them is the goal. ”
