Smilla Holmberg has been given a long-term contract by Arsenal.

After graduating from their academy and making 96 appearances, the 19-year-old joins Swedish side Hammarby IF.

In 2023 and 2025, the right-back won both the league and cup victories, respectively.

Holmberg was a member of the Sweden squad that advanced to the Euro 2025 quarter-finals, winning nine caps.

For my family and I, this is a very special moment.

It’s also about enlisting in a club with the highest standards and a vibrant winning culture. I want to help win silverware here because my goals align with the club’s.

The length of Holmberg’s contract has not been made public, but she will be wearing the number 31 shirt.

Manager Renee Slegers remarked, “We’re thrilled to welcome Smilla to the club.
