Arianna Grande addresses the dangers of making body-related comments about other people’s looks and the criticism of her body.
Over recent weeks, Ariana Grande’s appearance has been under scrutiny as she promotes the release of the second instalment of Wicked. The singer, 32, has always maintained a silence despite continued speculation around her weight.
But now, the star has finally hit back about the emotional impact the conversations around her weight has had on her. This weekend she shared an interview where she tearfully spoke about her weight-loss to Instagram.
She captioned the post saying: “Resharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all.” Fans saw Ariana sat with her beloved co-star Cynthia Erivo during the emotional interview.
She then went on to openly state that the comment section sent a “dangerous” message to everyone who was familiar with her appearance.
She stated in a statement to the television program Oui Oui Baguette, “I think it’s really dangerous to comment on other people’s looks, appearance, what they think is going on in the background, health, or how they present themselves.”
While Ariana discussed the drawbacks of being in public, viewers spotted Cynthia holding her hand in support of her close friend.
Ariana continued, “I’ve been doing this in front of the public and as a specimen in a petri-dish since I was 16 or 17.” No matter what scale you’re experiencing it on, it’s difficult to protect yourself from that noise.
Contrary to some, Ariana expressed gratitude for having a strong network of supporters who reflect who she is as a person.
She concluded, “I’m really lucky to have the support system I have, and I know and trust that I’m beautiful.”
Fans took to social media to express their concerns about Ariana’s altercation since she began the film’s promotional tour last year, which has since caused her to become sober.
Taking to X on the back of seeing her on the red carpet for the SAG Awards earlier this year, one fan wrote: “For real tho. Is Ariana Grande ok? She so thin and talks so slow now. Im actually worried.”
Someone else remarked, “Someone have to intervene with Ariana because something is not going on with her.” Being a fan, it’s so depressing because she’s too thin and appears to be fakeing a smile.
“I hope Ariana Is healthy,” was written by a third author. I hope she puts on some pounds. healthy . Women shouldn’t sacrifice their bodies for their health. I want to see that women who are attractive and well-weight are seen. not “Rose thin”
She took to Twitter in 2023 to post a three-minute video after the general public had compared her to when she was younger.
There are many different ways to look beautiful and healthy, she said at the time. And personally, I thought my current body was the least healthy version of my body, as you have compared it to.
She continued, “At the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you would think I was healthy, but that wasn’t my healthy.”
