As part of extensive election reforms, 16-year-olds now have the right to cast ballot in all UK elections. Supporters claim that the young generation is already engaged in issues like climate change, education, and the economy, and that this change will modernize democracy. However, opponents claim that 16 is too young to make such important political decisions and warn that it could undermine the electoral system’s validity.
