Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye’s enthronement as Soun of Ogbomosoland has been confirmed by the Ibadan Court of Appeal.
The lower court’s decision, which had earlier annulled the kingmakers’ selection and enthronement of Ghandi, was overturned by the appeal court.
A three-member panel of justices, led by Justice Yargata Nimpar, was established to adjudicate on the ten grounds of appeal.
Due process was not followed in the selection and subsequent enthronement of Oba Olaoye as the Soun of Ogbomosoland, according to Justice Adedokun’s earlier ruling regarding the petition filed by Prince Kabiru Laoye.
