
Anthony Joshua, the former world heavyweight champion, reportedly flew back to Britain after the fatal car crash that claimed the lives of two of his close friends in Nigeria.
The boxer flew in a private jet to London’s Stansted Airport on Friday evening, according to The Sun newspaper.
Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, was charged with dangerous driving causing death by police in Nigeria after he made his return. On January 20, he will make his court appearance.
On a busy highway connecting Lagos and Ibadan in southwest Nigeria on Monday, Kayode and Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami were rammed into a stationary truck by the Lexus SUV they were driving.
Joshua and Kayode suffered minor injuries, according to the police and Ogun state officials, while Ayodele and Ghami passed away at the scene.

Joshua was taken to the hospital and discharged on Wednesday.
According to British media, Ghami and Ayodele were Joshua’s long-term strength and conditioning trainers.
According to reports, Joshua, 36, had already left the country before Ghami and Ayodele’s funerals were to be held.
Following his victory over Jake Paul in Miami on December 19, the 2012 Olympic champion, who has family roots in Nigeria, was on vacation there.
