The star explained how he’s been forced to “curb” a particular habit in his debut podcast interview about the New Year’s resolution he made at home.
Ant McPartlin has admitted that he has had to “curb” a particular habit at home, as he keeps getting “told off” by his other half, Anne-Marie Corbett. In what Fearne Cotton revealed was Ant and Dec’s first-ever podcast appearance this week (January 19), Ant shed light on a New Year’s resolution he’d made at home involving his young son.
In the episode, since the TV treasures were “podcast virgins”, Fearne informed them that this format had “no rules” like television and even invited them to “do a swear”, but Ant declined.
Dec explained that the reluctance to swear had “gone into” his TV partner’s resolutions. Ant, who has a son named Wilder with wife Anne-Marie, noted that he was “getting told off a lot” for the habit.
My little one is 19 months old, so he’s starting to speak slowly, and I’m getting heckled a lot for swearing a lot in the house, so I have to cut back.
He continued, “Fearne, what I’m not going to do is start swearing on a podcast.” Yes, I do need to, but I also need to.
Fearne then revealed that the lack of constraints meant they even kept the “C-bomb” in, much to the surprise of the Geordie icons, disclosing that “loads of people” had used it on the podcast.
She then described it as a “juicy one” and urged the duo to feel free to swear if they felt the “need”. Ant conceded that once he becomes “animated”, all his resolutions could “go out the window”.
Back in November, the presenters offered fans another rare insight into their lives during an appearance on I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked. In a chat with hosts Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers, Ant and Dec were quizzed on their respective nightly routines.
I should go to bed earlier, but probably by midnight, according to Ant in comments referring to Wilder. With a baby, it’s late. I’ll start getting stuck in a box set once I’ve been honest with you, but it’s a little too late.
Dec, who has two children, Isla and Jack, and Ali Alstall, revealed that he goes to bed much earlier.
He stated, “It’s around nine o’clock.” We’ll have something to eat while Ali and I sit on the couch. We’ll watch TV on the couch before going to bed and say, “We could be watching this.”
He continued, “just go up” and watch the news before going home for the night.
