Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, two well-known Geordie hosts and presenters of I’m A Celebrity, have just released their new podcast series, Talking about Some Plans for 2026.
Declan Donnelly will be ditching the Saturday night takeaways – thanks to his new year’s resolution.
The 50-year-old, one half of TV duo Ant and Dec, revealed he will be hitting the gym to try to stay fit. He revealed the plan as the pair launched their new podcast. He also admitted he was trying to do Dry January but unlike his teetotal partner did not last very long. Dec said: “I’ve only made one, it’s the one I make every year. I’ve got to get fit and healthy in 26.”
He continued, claiming that he was attempting to avoid alcohol throughout January. He stated, “I was having a dry January.” I was the one who knew how it was going. I lasted for a week. That was pretty good going, in my opinion.
“I had a very stressful day with the kids. Very stressful day. They’ve been feral since New Year, and they went back to school for that first week of back at school, and I thought, oh, it’s good a bit of discipline and a bit of routine is back in their lives, It’s going to be lovely. They were feral all week and then the weekend was a disaster. So I was going to do dry January, in the end, Saturday night, put them to bed and opened up all the wine.”
Wow, well, well, well, well done, Ant jokingly said. You deserve my best wishes. I’m very proud of you as someone who has been sober for almost eight years. Your eight days are a success, I think.
Dec responded, “Of course, I’m not currently experiencing dry January, but I’m still going to get fit and healthy in 2026.” Yesterday, I took a plunge and an infrared sauna. “It was cold before hot.”
Ant, in contrast, claims that his plan to expand his vocabulary for 2026 is to start working on it.
He explained: “Wilder is 20 months now and he’s starting to say a lot more words rapidly, day by day. He learned the word bumble the other day, which is good, it is the name of one of our dogs.
“But he said that, and I thought I really need to stop swearing,” he continued. So I need to at least increase my vocabulary. Consider other methods for disciplining him and cursing. I then download an app that gives me daily word answers. Word of the day is what it is.
The duo, who are renowned as Ant and Dec, first gained notoriety when they were a teenager on the children’s television program Byker Grove but have since grown into presenting stars and parents. They’ve hosted programs like I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here and Saturday Night Take Away. Additionally, their test is called Limitless Win.
Isla, a daughter of seven years old, and Jack, a son of three, are his parents.
Wilder and Daisy, both of his sons, were brought up by his wife Anne-Marie during her previous marriage.
In December the pair signed a new ITV deal thought to be worth around £30 million which will keep them at the channel until 2028 marking 30 years with the broadcaster.
