A state lawmaker was attacked by an angry mob in Dansadau town, in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, on Wednesday over allegations of poor performance and disregard for his constituents.
When he and Governor Dauda Lawal traveled to the troubled community, Kabiru Mikailu, a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, was allegedly assaulted by residents.
The angry residents claimed that the legislator has been ignoring the area since winning the election and that he hasn’t been to visit or speak with constituents at major events.
Some residents claimed that the lawmaker never went to the town’s Sallah celebrations or made an appearance to say goodbye to nearby bandit-afflicted families.
