After The Ray Summers’ lead singer, Andrew Ure, tragically passed away after going for a walk after celebrating his birthday and failing to return home, tributes have poured in.

Andrew Ure, the lead singer of Falkirk band The Ray Summers, has died. Tributes have flooded in for the late Scots star after he died after he went out hillwalking. It has been reported that the father of two, who celebrated his 41st birthday just last week, had gone out to try some new walking gear but never made it home.

The Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team thanked his brother in a statement. Andy was excited about what 2026 had in store for us, he said on Hogmanay, before going on a hillwalk in all of his new birthday outfit. He unfortunately did not arrive home. The family is truly indebted to the Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team, who are incredibly generous.

He continued: “So many people have lost a part of their world, as he meant so much to many. For me, I’ve lost my wee brother, my best pal, my business partner, my sounding board, and the daily reason I used my phone. Heartbroken doesn’t even come close.”

The Ray Summers, who had a tribute to their bandmate online, had an original lead singer named Andrew. Andy was not only the rock in our band, but also the rock in our lives, they wrote in a heartfelt message. This is so painful. Linsey and his two young children, his family, and all those who were so fortunate to know him receive our entire love and support.

The band previously supported Paolo Nutini and Doves, and they had a successful career. Andrew was a professional singer at the Wee Whisky Shop in Linlithgow, West Lothian, as well.

In Andrew’s honor, the shop’s social media page also published some encouraging words. They stated, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our directors, Andrew Ure, on December 31, 2025. Words cannot adequately express the grief this loss brings, and our thoughts are with Andrew’s family during this very difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who has already sent condolences and kind messages.
