Alejandro Garnacho will be allowed to join a new club this summer, according to Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim.

After both he and his brother posted messages following Wednesday’s Europa League final defeat at Tottenham, when Garnacho was only introduced as a 71st-minute substitute, the Argentina international appeared to be on collision with his boss.

Garnacho stated following the game, “Up until the final, I played every round supporting the team, and today I play 20 minutes.

The outcome will affect not just my decision, but the club’s situation for the entire season. I’m going to make an effort to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards.

After the match, Roberto’s brother, Roberto, expressed on social media that they were “working as no-one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the final two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 minutes and get thrown under the bus.”

Chelsea and the 20-year-old were on the verge of striking a deal in January, but it ultimately failed.

Napoli, the newly promoted champion of Serie A, had other interests in mind for the forward, who was born in Spain and joined United’s academy from Atletico Madrid in October 2020.

Before Sunday’s final Premier League game against Aston Villa, Amorim said, “I will speak with my players, but the focus is the last game.”

“We have a plan, but I’m not sure what will happen.”

With the Champions League and without, we were both prepared for both scenarios. Despite having the last game, we have an idea of the squad we want. There is still time to address each of these circumstances.

Will Garnacho play a role in Villa’s match with Villa?

Due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations, Amorim’s sale would give him more room to develop his squad, who is preparing to reduce their size given their lack of European commitments next season.

Matheus Cunha, who has a release clause of £62.5 million in his contract, has attracted considerable interest from United.

Garnacho and Amorim have a turbulent relationship.

When United removed the winger along with Marcus Rashford for the victory at Manchester City on December 15, he had only been there for a month.

Amorim cited “training performances, game performances, and team-building efforts” as justification for the choice.

Garnacho was immediately recalled, in contrast to Rashford. Because there isn’t room for an orthodox wide player, he has always seemed uneasy to fit into the system Amorim favors.
