As opposed to the regular series, Amber Davies has teased Strictly judges for awarding such high ratings to the couples who watch the BBC show’s Christmas special.
Amber Davies shared a playful complaint with fans after the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special aired. The former Love Island winner, 29, took to TikTok to post a silly video of herself watching the show from home.
While the judges gave the star-studded dancers high scores, Amber yelled mock-distraught as she stubbed herself on the screen.
Amber wrote in the video that she witnessed the judges award 9s andamp; 10s during the Strictly Xmas special after ten weeks of breaking her body to get those marks.
She was quick to clarify that the post was light-hearted, adding in capital letters: “THIS IS JUST A JOKE. I loved watching the Xmas special. CONGRATULATIONS my babies Scarlett Moffatt and Vito Coppola.”
One fan quickly commented, “Honestly, the only acceptable reaction,” and the audience quickly saw the humorous side of her post. Another commented, “This is so funny. You did a fantastic job and merited many more 10s.
Some people criticized the judges for being more relaxed during the holiday season, saying that they “are always soft on the Christmas episode” and “Of course the Christmas is more laid-back!” You did a fantastic job.
The West End actress has spoken out against the physically demanding nature of Strictly proved to be despite having a background in musical theater.
Earlier in December, she admitted that she and professional partner Nikita Kuzmin even abandoned a move after deciding it was too dangerous.
Amber explained that Nikita had suggested that she start a salsa routine by leaning on her shoulders before sliding into the splits. Even though they successfully practiced it, she ultimately ruled out including it because it was too risky.
In addition to physically demanding a lot of her, the competition obviously took a toll on her emotionally in the last few weeks. Amber struggled to hold back tears as the episode of Strictly “bubble” came to an end.
She admitted she was already in mourning ahead of the experience on the BBC series coming to a close, tearfully sharing: “I’m such a crier at the minute because I just love it so much. My alarm went off this morning and I jumped out of bed, because I just thought that this was the last Tuesday. So, I just wanna cherish every single moment that I have left with you.
I’m terrible at saying goodbye, I must admit. The Strictly bubble burst, and it rekindled my life with avengeance just as quickly. I will miss it greatly because I have loved every second of it.
Although some viewers criticized her for claiming she had no dance experience before appearing on Strictly, Amber has since expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from the audience.
She thanked the audience for their kindness after the semi-final, saying it was unlike anything she had ever seen in a public eye in nearly a decade.
She praised her fellow contestants, including semi-finalist Balvinder, and praised George Clarke and Karen Carney, the other two who had already lost.
