Amazon’s Cloud Services Hit By Global Outage

According to the subsidiary of the US tech giant, a global outage affected Amazon’s cloud services on Monday, causing disruption to numerous websites and services like Amazon Prime, Perplexity, Fortnite, Alexa, Snapchat, and Duolingo.

The maintenance page for Amazon Web Services (AWS) messages stated that its engineers were restoring operations and that “increased error rates” were being reported for various services.

According to Downdetector, a website that tracks internet problems, the downtime affected numerous online services. Reddit, various video streaming services like Disney+, Hulu, and Delta Air Lines were among the others.

Downdetector reported that a number of major mobile phone providers, some of the UK’s banks, Whatsapp, and Tinder were also affected in Europe.

At 0711 GMT, AWS’s maintenance website announced that disruptions had begun to be detected. It later stated that it was beginning to show “significant signs of recovery” about two hours later.
