Alleged Terrorism: Kanu Concludes Private Meeting With Legal Team Preparatory To His Defence

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, has had a private consultation with Kanu Agabi, the former attorney general of the Federation (AGF), to conclude the consultation.

The Federal High Court headquarters complex in Abuja, which houses the defendant’s ongoing terrorism trial, hosted the meeting in Court 7, which is located on the second floor.

The defense team’s preparation for the defendant’s case’s opening on Thursday, October 23 is reflected in the schedule of the proceedings that Justice James Omotosho issued on September 16.

In light of the earlier accelerated hearing that was granted in the case, Justice Omotosho granted the defendant six consecutive days to begin and end his defense starting on October 23.

Nnamdi Kanu enters the defense, lists Wike, Umahi, Buratai, and other people as witnesses.

Agabi, who did not object to the court’s six-day order, filed an oral request for the court to grant Kanu’s legal team access to a private consultation with the defendant outside the Department of State Services (DSS).

Agabi claimed that the defendant’s legal team was concerned that the DSS might access or record their conversation with him (Kanu).

Justice Omotosho accepted Agabi’s request for a private meeting with Kanu to be held in the courtroom, where only the defendant’s attorneys would be present. Justice Omotosho granted the request.
