Alex Scott has revealed how her girlfriend Jess Glynne reacted after discovering that the Lioness icon had decided to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Jess Glynne thinks Alex Scott is “mental” for appearing on I’m A Celeb. The Lioness icon joins the likes of comic Ruby Wax, Martin Kemp, Jack Osbourne, Kelly Brook, Lisa Riley, Angryginge, Aitch, and Eddie Kadi.
But while former Lioness Alex is excited to make her debut in the Australian jungle, her popstar girlfriend, Jess, had a completely different view on the topic. Alex admits that she hopes the show will allow fans to see her in a completely different light than how they already know her, on and off the pitch.
Despite fronting and taking part in some of the biggest sporting events, Alex is extremely shy and describes herself as an introvert. But while she’s excited to showcase herself, her girlfriend thinks she’s “mental.”

“Jess thinks I am absolutely mental, but she will be my biggest supporter, and my mum absolutely loves the show. Thinking of her tuning in every night will bring a tear,” Alex commented.
However, Alex admits that while she’s terrified of heights, that won’t be her only concern while Down Under. She said: “I will need to push myself to speak out around all of the different and big personalities. Not going into myself for being the shy one will be my big challenge.
“People see you on TV and they assume you are outgoing, that loud person but take me to red carpets or events and I am the one in the corner going, ‘Talk to me, please give me a plus one so I don’t have to be that person who walks in on my own,’ it’s going to be a challenge.”
Alex and Jess went public with their relationship in 2023 following months of speculation about their bond. Since they shared their happy news, they’ve often appeared alongside one another at a string of glitzy events, including the Elle Style Awards.
The couple often share glimpses of their luxury holidays together on social media. When previously asked about their relationship, Alex said she was “happy and in love,” before joking that she and the Hold My Hand hitmaker had become the “same person”.
Initially, Alex had been hesitant about signing up for the show, which will see her take on a string of gruesome Bushtucker Trials – some including confined spaces, while others include eating fish eyes and animal genitalia. “But this is an amazing opportunity to test myself,” she said, adding: “I am super competitive but with myself and not other people.”
Alex also hinted she won’t be afraid of the trials, despite being scared of heights, as she has no intentions of letting her campmates go hungry during their stay in the jungle. “I don’t want to make myself look stupid, even if I do have fears, I will just throw myself into it,” she said.
Earlier today, Alex was spotted at Heathrow Airport with Jess as they waved goodbye to one another. The footballing icon exuded glamour as she made her way through departures, wearing a brown tracksuit and carrying an expensive Louis Vuitton holdall bag, her hair styled into loose curls. Before heading through to security, she and Jess hugged one another before exchanging a kiss.
