Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and Russian dancer Katya Jones were paired up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, but it appears she didn’t attend his wedding.

Adam Peaty’s Strictly Come Dancing partner, Katya Jones, was absent from his wedding to Holly Ramsay. The nuptials have been controversial for a range of reasons, including family drama and the ongoing Beckham feud, also drawing a cloud over the proceedings.

But reality show fans were surprised to note that 31-year-old Adam’s Strictly partner Katya, 36, was not among the stars attending the event. Adam and Katya competed on the BBC dance show in 2021, and made it through seven weeks before being booted from the ballroom in ninth place.

Stars including David and Victoria Beckham, celebrity chef Marcus Wareing, and Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies were said to be in attendance. But Katya was not among the stars despite reportedly having a good friendship with the Olympic swimmer.

Russian dancers were not featured in the lavish wedding photos and footage, and she made a hint on Monday that she spent the weekend relaxing at home rather than attending the celebrity wedding. Katya made a comeback on social media with a bang while updating herself on her Stories and catching up on her reading habits and distancing herself from “toxic” drama.

After posting a string of throwback images from the latest season of Strictly, the dance professional then shared a snap of herself curled up beside a fire with her dog and a book in her lap. In an accompanying caption, the TV star urged her fans and followers to turn their backs on social media and take a break from the apps.

She mused: “I’ve been off social media for a week. Had Instagram and TikTok deleted. Hence, the sharing of the old post now. And let me tell you – what a gift it is to be present in the real. To fall into the world of your imagination, reading a book, allow your mind to become peaceful again, heart grateful for what we have, get rid of the toxic energy and stop chasing.”

She added: “I’d recommend you do it. Trust me, you won’t miss much – but you will gain tons.” The Mirror has contacted a representative of the dance star for comment.

Members of Adam’s family were prohibited from attending the wedding ceremony, which has raised tensions among the couple’s families. After revealing they had been denied access to the glitzy affair, the athlete’s mother and brother have been in the news for weeks.

Meanwhile, proceedings were obscured by the Beckham family drama. Brooklyn, the eldest son, viciously attacked his parents and siblings after allegedly ruining his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, causing a furor among the family.

The couple reportedly declined to attend Sir David’s 50th birthday celebrations this year and pointedly declined to invite any members of his family to a second round of nuptials that took place in August.

However, Holly’s big day was ruined by her and Brooklyn’s together adolescence while Gordon Ramsay and Dave, their well-known fathers, pursued success in the USA. Once close, Holly and Brooklyn celebrated milestone birthdays, including their 18th, and traveled the world together.

Brooklyn reportedly declined to attend the wedding because his family was present. Gordon and the Ramsay family are said to have been in anger about his actions, but reports also suggest that they left a “door open” for him to return to their lives. Representatives from the Beckham and Ramsay families have been contacted for comment by The Mirror.
