Adam Peaty’s devastated mother revealed that she had been barred from attending her son’s wedding, and she held her.
Olympic champion swimmer Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay will tie the knot later today but an ongoing family feud means that not all of Adam’s family have been invited.
In attendance will be Holly’s dad celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, her sisters Tilly and Megan, her proud mum Tana will be there too, of course, along with brother Jack, a marine, as well as various celebrity pals, including David and Victoria Beckham and their children.

The sole representative of Adam’s nearest and dearest is expected to be his sister Bethany, 32, who is one of 25-year-old Holly’s bridesmaids. There won’t be guests at the wedding, which will include Adam’s parents, Caroline and Mark, and their extended family. They will stay at their Staffordshire home in Uttoxeter.
Speaking to MailOnline Caroline said: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out,” she says.
“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on…because of the wedding.”
She continued, “I don’t want to ruin his wedding day, because going would just cause even more of a storm.” I wished I could watch him get married peacefully, but that’s now impossible.
They don’t understand that family is the foundation of everything, though I’m not sure if they are too young or how much of a family I value.
When things start to get difficult, you can turn to your family for support. That has been a part of my life. Thankfully, at 83, my mother is still alive and continues to care for me despite the fact that I still get called a five. If I have the chance to live that long, I want that for my children. Although she is far too quiet to share the messages she and her son have exchanged, the content has hurt.
