In the days leading up to his wedding, Adam Peaty’s family issues began to get worse, and a barred mother is upset about her daughter Beth’s “betrayal” attendance.
Despite having already spent hundreds on his big day, Angry Adam Peaty claimed, his great-aunt and her husband were prevented from attending his wedding.
Despite the excited couple booking accommodation, purchasing outfits and gifts for the Olympian and his soon-to-be wife Holly Ramsay, he changed his mind over Christmas and told them they were uninvited, according to reports. The “completely unacceptable” move came as a family feud rages after his mum Caroline, 60, was told she was not going to Holly’s hen do.
His sister Beth, a bridesmaid on the day, has now been accused of betraying her mum by attending – despite many of the family being exiled from the star-studded wedding. The couple tied the knot on Saturday, with the beaming newlyweds emerging hand-in-hand from Bath Abbey following one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings in recent years.
Large crowds gathered for the post-Christmas service, with many guests including Adam himself having to be escorted into the historic building by burly guards after the build up to the big day was dominated by talk of banned relatives. Now it has been reported that more were told to stay away.
His great-aunt Janet and her partner Eddie were told just days before the wedding that they shouldn’t attend – and things have turned toxic. “Caroline did everything and more to help Adam. She and Mark sacrificed a lot to get him to where he is,” an insider told The Sun.
After everything they did to support him, Adam should be ashamed for planning the wedding without them. Beth has betrayed her mother to see what she can gain from being the only family member to enjoy Adam and Holly.
Caroline, 60, last night spoke out ahead of the wedding, telling the Mail: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out. This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on…because of the wedding.”
The Peaty family conflict dates back to September 2024, when Adam and Holly disregarded wider Peaty family members by refusing to let them attend their engagement party.
Even though the bride’s mother, Tana Ramsay, and friends including Victoria Beckham were present, Caroline was not invited to Holly’s glamorous hen do last month at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds.
Caroline gave her son’s 31st birthday on Saturday, the day before his wedding, a card and gift. This weekend, Adam’s aunt Louise reportedly exchanged harsh words with his mother about the family feud.
Moments before the wedding, she sent him a text message outlining her thoughts.
A body language expert praised Holly’s appearance and claimed she looked to be in “full control” of her big day. Judi James told the Mirror: “Holly looked very much like the confident and radiantly happy bride, fully in control of her image as she walked into church with dad Gordon.
