Adam Peaty and Katya Jones met on the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing but she did not attend his recent wedding to Holly Ramsay
Katya Jones has unfollowed Adam Peaty on social media amid his own family feud. Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya was partnered with the Olympic swimmer during the 2021 series.
Adam also has Strictly to thank for him meeting his now-wife Holly Ramsay. Tilly, Holly’s sister, was on Adam’s series when the pair were first introduced, though the sportsman was in a relationship with the mother of his son at the time. Dan Walker and Sara Davies – who both appeared on the same series – were at Adam and Holly’s recent wedding but Katya was notably not in attendance.
The snub came as a shock to fans as Katya and Adam remained good friends after the BBC show, with the former turning out to support her partner at races and family parties over the years.
Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Katya no longer follows the swimmer but she does still follow Adam’s mum Caroline, who he fell out with amid a huge family feud about Adam and Holly’s wedding.
Her apparently unfollowing comes just days after she decided to go on a social media break. On her return, she wrote: “I’ve been off social media for a week. Had Instagram and TikTok deleted. Hence sharing of the old post now’.
“And let me tell you – what a gift it is to be present in the real. To fall into the world of your imagination reading a book, allow your mind to become peaceful again … Heart grateful for what we have, get rid of the toxic energy and stop chasing.”
There couldn’t be anything more toxic than the feud between Adam and his mother Caroline. The pair fell out over the wedding, when Caroline was not invited to Holly’s hen do, despite Tana Ramsey and Victoria Beckham being in attendance.
Multiple family members were later uninvited from the wedding at Bath Abbey. Speaking about what happened, Caroline said: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.
“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on – because of the wedding.”
Gordon Ramsay and Adam are close, with the chef writing an emotional message of support given by his now father-in-law. He said: “I want you to know he’s an amazing young man with such a great attitude.
“Honestly, I could not ask for a more down-to-earth, respectable future son-in-law. What he’s achieved is incredible and he’s not done yet. Looking forward to catching up soon.”
