Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay will walk down the aisle this Christmas for their wedding at Bath Abbey – but not all of the Olympic swimmer’s family have made the guest list
Adam Peaty was already famous before meeting wife-to-be Holly Ramsay, who he will tie the knot with in a lavish ceremony this Christmas. But those close to him claim the working class lad from Staffordshire has been ‘seduced’ by the fame and glamour of his in laws – and no longer has time for his own family.
The 30-year-old Olympic swimmer first met Holly, 25, backstage on the set of Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, where he was a contestant alongside Holly’s sister Tilly, 24. At the time Adam was in a relationship with his ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro, who he shares five-year-old son George with.
It wasn’t until June 2023, reportedly following a two-year friendship, that Adam and Holly revealed they were a couple. The pair shared snaps of their first holiday together to Rome and started popping up on each other’s Instagram feeds showing they were living the high life.
One post from July that year shows Adam with his arm around Holly as they enjoyed a day at Silverstone Circuit. By this point Adam had already met the parents as he posed for snaps with Holly’s famous dad Gordon Ramsay and wrote: “An unbelievable experience… can’t begin to say how grateful I am,” before thanking Holly, Gordon and Red Bull Racing.

Later that summer Adam was spotted at the Ramsay’s family home in the posh village of Rock in Cornwall, where the TV chef and restauranteur – who is said to be worth nearly £200 million – has a mega mansion. It’s also said to be boast two kitchens, an infinity pool, wine cellar and a boat house.
By October 2023, Holly had ditched her blonde locks for a more demure brunette style and her and Adam were spotted at a wedding together. This was followed by more family time down at her parents in Rock, including with Adam’s son George, as he wrote: “My favourite people in my favourite place. You give me a peace and love that’s indescribable.”
By New Year’s Eve that year as Adam paid tribute to “the most kind, gentle and beautiful person I know” on her 24th birthday, he revealed he’d had her initial ‘H’ tattooed on his neck. While Holly is thought to have a matching ‘A’ tattoo for Adam behind her ear.
Gushing posts for Valentine’s followed where he appeared to hint their relationship was for keeps as he told Holly: “You help me become a better man everyday and I can’t wait to see what the future holds with you. No one knows me like you do. My best friend. You’re the goat.”
In July 2024, the couple were spotted dressed up to the nines at Wimbledon, which seems to be an annual event now, as well as visits to the Formula 1 track. They also enjoyed holidays to Las Vegas and LA, where Adam took a photo of Holly on a hike and gushed: “I don’t know what I did in my past life but it must have been something good, to get someone like you.”
Then that September – after just over a year of dating – Adam popped the question on a romantic getaway to Dubai.
Sharing snaps of the engagement ring, he wrote: “I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side.
“You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace. You have been with me when I’ve been at my lowest and helped me understand myself to navigate my own darkness. You have also celebrated the highs which have been so many, as for the first time in my life, I’m happy with the man I’ve become. You came to church with me and joined the incredible community we have there without a question.”
In a telling comment, he added: “Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. I can’t wait to be joined with them too. I’ve always believed when two people are engaged and later married that we are no longer two people but we join as one and it’s the biggest privilege to share that with you.
“Seeing you show the love you give the most important person in my life, George, even from day one there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day. I’m looking forward to our life together and the many challenges we’ll face. I promise to always love you with all my heart.”
Now the couple are set to tie the knot at Bath Abbey in a festive wedding next month – but it’s claimed that Adam has uninvited his mum Caroline following reports she was upset that Holly hadn’t invited her to her posh hen do at Soho Farmhouse.
This was despite Holly’s own mother Tana Ramsay being included, as well as close family friend Victoria Beckham. But her future mother-in-law was apparently snubbed from the family event.
Caroline’s sister – and Adam’s aunt – Louise Williams, has since vented her anger at Holly, who she accused her of being “divisive and hurtful” in a public social media post.
Writing on Instagram, Louise blasted Holly over the snub to Caroline, who she says “opened her home and heart to you”, claiming it had inflicted “a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever”.
A source said to be close to Adam’s family has claimed: “Adam has changed so much since he’s been with Holly. She comes from a celebrity world, while his parents do not, and his ego and self-importance have grown. He’s no longer the lovely boy next door we all remember. It’s partly because Adam doesn’t feel his family is good enough for the new one he is now part of.
“Caroline is devastated by the rift and doesn’t know what she has done wrong. Adam’s relationship with his mum and dad Mark are at an all-time low, and now she’s not coming to the wedding.
“‘They feel that Adam started to grow distant from his family after he met Holly and they started to become more serious. There is a feeling that money is an issue. His family are working class and proud – it’s a stark contrast to the Ramsay family and some members of the family have said it feels like Adam is ashamed of them.” The Mirror has contacted reps for Holly and Adam for further comment on this story.
