The Serie A giants’ AC Milan announced on Saturday that Christopher Nkunku had agreed to join them from Chelsea in an effort to resurrect his career ahead of the World Cup in the summer of next.
“AC Milan is pleased to announce the signing of Chelsea FC’s Christopher Nkunku as a permanent player. The French international has a contract until 30 June 2030, according to a statement from Milan.
Milan, who left Chelsea to become the World Club Cup champions in 2023, agreed to pay a fee of 37 million euros ($43.3 million), which could rise to 42 million euros.

Nkunku, who Chelsea signed after impressing at German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, scored 18 goals in 62 games.
In his first year in England, he suffered from injuries and was forced to sit in behind Nicolas Jackson in the standing ovation, largely because of Enzo Maresca’s decision to use him in cup competitions.
Nkunku relocates to Milan as the World Cup draws near and he is unsure of his chances of making the team for the American, Canadian, and Mexican finals.
Didier Deschamps, a veteran coach, did not choose him for the Nations League’s quarter-final against Croatia or the competition’s final four.
In October of last year, Les Bleus won one goal in 14 games against Israel in the Nations League.
After finishing in eighth place last term, Massimiliano Allegri’s side have three points from their first two matches of the campaign, including a 2-0 victory over Lecce on Friday. Milan, under the direction of Massimiliano Allegri, has not played any European football this season.
