Before losing a beloved family pet, model Abbey Clancy and former England international footballer Peter Crouch had to make a devastating decision.

Abbey Clancy said there’s “nothing they can do” as she prepared for a heartbreaking family loss this Christmas. The model shares four children with former England footballer Peter Crouch.

However, Abbey, 39, revealed that the family was doing so to deal with this heartbreaking loss this Christmas. Maggie, her beloved cat, had to be abandoned last week after spending more than 20 years with Abbey.

Before saying the sad goodbyes to Maggie, Abbey says the family had a “cuddle” with the feline and took their final photos together. On The Therapy Crouch podcast, Abbey said: “We’ve got a sad week, my cat baby has had to be put down this week. She’s on palliative care at home, she’s got stage four kidney failure.

She uses painkillers, she says. There is nothing the hospital can do because she has been receiving fluids all week.

We all had a nice cuddle in bed last night and took pictures with her, but yeah because she was deteriorating even while I was taking her medication.

She’s still with us, but it’s time we made a decision, Peter said, who netted 22 goals in 42 England caps. She lived the best life possible.

Abbey paid tribute to Maggie on Instagram, sharing a snap of two of her children cuddling the beloved family pet. She wrote: “Goodnight my beautiful baby. You were one in a million. 20 years with you I’m heartbroken.”

The mother-of-four also shared a photo of one of her sons cuddling Maggie on what appeared to be the kitchen floor in a different snap, captioned “Lost without you baby,” followed by a red love heart.

The family welcomed a new addition just weeks after Maggie’s death. For Liberty’s tenth birthday, they gave her a “teacup” Maltese dog called Bambi, which is the same breed as Abbey’s mother’s dog Bella.

Abbey once stated on a previous episode of The Therapy Crouch, “Lib was asking me, mummy, can I get a Bella,” And I immediately thought, “You know what? ” I’ll order one.

Peter, 44, initially objected to getting a new dog, noting that the family already has a black labrador, a cavapoo, a tabby cat, a stray kitten they recently adopted from Portugal, and a lizard, which her youngest son Jack had requested for his fifth birthday. However, Abbey refused to answer, so the family welcomed Bambi in November.

He recalled that Abbey walks in with it under her jumper and said, “It’s arrived! ” while I’m sitting there on a Sunday. I was in shock at how unbelievable it was. We all talk about going out of style, don’t we? The house has been lost on me.
