The Jukebox Man, starring Harry Redknapp, won the King George VI Chase with a stunning victory at the last turn.

Banbridge and 9-4 joint-favourite Gaelic Warrior were in the photo-finishes in the Group One race at Kempton Park.

Before the former West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur manager could celebrate the victory, owner Redknapp was anxiously awaiting.

Ben Jones led the 7-1 shot back between his two rivals as the trio headed into the final jump together, with The Jukebox Man falling in third.

Redknapp, who was trembling as he spoke to ITV Racing moments after his winner was announced, was awarded £142,375.

He said, “Having a horse that good is a dream.” I’m a fan of the game a lot.

It’s “special, it’s so special, isn’t it?” I’m lucky, right? It occupies a position there.

“I adore racing, the game, the people involved, and having a winner on the big stage is fantastic.”

Jango Baie, who had won the matchup, was a length back before the final fence and was closing in on the lead trio.

I anticipated that the horse would finish fourth, according to Redknapp, 78.

At the conclusion, “everyone was cheering on me, and I didn’t realize I had won.”
