MAFS’ Lacey Martin viciously slams ex Nathan Campbell’s new romance with Love Island star

Married At First Sight star Lacey Martin has been left furious that her on-screen husband Nathan Campbell has already moved on with a Love Island rival – branding him fame hungry in an outburst.

Fans of E4’s chaotic reality dating show will recall that Lacey, 27, and Nathan, 24, were one of only two couples that made it all the way through the show as an item during season nine of the series that aired last year. But once the cameras stopped rolling, the pair pulled the plug on their romance and broke up.

Now Nathan has reportedly sparked up a new romance with 26-year-old Abi Moores – who reality show fans will remember as a contestant on season 10 of Love Island in 2023. During her time on the ITV dating show, Abi struck up a romance with footballer Scott van-der-Sluis, 24 – but they were dumped from the villa days before the finale which was ultimately won by Jess Harding and Sammy Root.

Nathan and Abi have recently been linked after they were spotted out on a date last month – but it is being reported that Lacey is regarding dismissing the romance as a publicity stunt. It is suggested that Lacey has knowledge of Nathan’s ambitions – which she has underwritten as proof he is “fame hungry”.

A friend of Lacey’s told The Sun: “Lacey can’t believe after Nathan making out she was the fame hungry one he’s now seeing a girl from Love Island. She feels like this is what he always wanted and that’s fame. He spoke about wanting to be a model and be in a boy band and do I’m A Celeb”.

The friend continued: “She thinks the whole thing is for publicity and proves her point that it wasn’t a one way street he wanted a showmance too. This just got edited out”. The Mirror has contacted representatives of Lacey, Nathan and Abi for comment.

The latest reports come after explosive scenes aired in a reunion episode of Married At First Sight which saw Nathan accusing Lacey of messaging him to suggest the carry on a “showmance” after their time on the E4 show purely to capitalise on their newfound fame. Lacey previously rejected this suggestion and argued that the show had been edited in a way to make her look like the worse half of the relationship.

She told The Sun last month: “They’ve edited it to make me out as this villain. It was completely off. They cut out all of my responses to Nathan and it looks like I just accepted what he was saying, which isn’t fair”.

Amid the latest allegations, Lacey has been sharing cryptic messages via her social media channels. Taking to Instagram Stories, she shared a video clip of a woman merrily raising a glass of champagne with a caption stating: “Always remember s***ty people do s***ty thing because they feel s***ty about themselves not because you deserve s***ty things done to you…”
