With only 15% of his presidency up, Governor of Kano State Abba Yusuf has declared that his administration has delivered on all of the promises made to the state’s citizens.
The governor made this known on Thursday in Kano during the swearing-in ceremony for his new chief of staff, Sulaiman Wali Sani, the director general of the Special Services Directorate, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd), and 11 newly appointed special advisers.
Governor Yusuf addressed the appointees and members of the public, stating that the administration had accomplished the milestone after conducting a thorough analysis of its performance over the past two years.

“I’m happy that we put all the promises we made to the people into action 85% of the time,” Yusuf said at the polling point last week. So I should set some alarms for the upcoming one or two, let’s say two years. Is it up to us to execute this 15%?
The State Executive Council was already reviewing the situation, he added, “We have already presented the matter to the State Executive Council.” We only have 15% and have two years. Without going into more detail, he said, “we are looking at the three situations.”
Governor Yusuf emphasized that his administration would continue to lead a fast-paced, proactive administration.
“We are introducing new programs and practices that will continue to have an impact on the good people of the state,” he said. “And so it’s impossible for us to do it alone.” We must carry it out with you all.
The governor also urged the newly appointed officials to provide honest and constructive feedback and to uphold the principles of accountability and transparency in their positions.
Don’t just go into the air if there is a problem. Don’t begin your research. Because you are investigating yourself, Yusuf said. “Come straight and tell us where we are right and wrong,” the message is. You are here for that reason.
He also reaffirmed that officials have a lot of responsibility to take on when managing public assets.
The governor urged people to “achieve accountability and transparency, especially in the prudent use of the few resources that you have in the hands of the people.” The phrase “Your entire world is in your hands. You can’t cross that line, no matter whether you like it or not.
There is no one among you that I have not been acquainted with, Governor Yusuf declared in a note of personal confidence in his appointing committee members.
