76ers star Embiid ruled out for rest of season

Joel Embiid, a star of the Philadelphia 76ers, has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a persistent problem with his left knee.
Embiid, 30, has played in just 19 of the 76ers’ 58 games so far this season.
After suffering a fall that left him with a swollen knee, the seven-time All-Star last week played just 31 minutes in the Brooklyn Nets’ 105-103 loss.
The 2022-23 MVP, who was born in Cameroon, had a meniscus tear in his knee in February 2024, and was only allowed to play 39 games last year.
After San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, the team’s number one draft pick in 2023, was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, which will likely make him miss the rest of the season, he has received another notable injury in the NBA in two weeks.
The 76ers announced in a statement on Friday that “after further evaluation, it has been determined that [Embiid] is medically ineligible and will miss the remainder of the season to concentrate on treatment and rehabilitation.”
We are collaborating with medical professionals to create a precise treatment plan.
Joel’s team and specialists will continue to collaborate to provide the best possible course of action for his performance and long-term health.
