Former Senator Kabiru Marafa’s claim that he could stifle President Bola Tinubu’s election results in a million votes has been refuted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
Marafa’s threat was “baseless,” the party’s state chairman, Tukur Danfulani, said in a statement, calling him “a rejected politician seeking relevance.”
The former lawmaker was “could not even win his constituency” in the 2023 elections, according to the statement.
The APC claimed in the statement that, in addition to Marafa, the party’s victory in Zamfara in the previous presidential election was largely attributable to the influence of party leaders, including Bello Matawalle, the minister of state for defense, and Abdulaziz Yari, a former governor.

Further, the group claimed that Marafa’s recent outbursts were the result of his frustration with the administration’s failure to secure appointments and election losses.
“It is absurd that Marafa boasts of reducing one million votes, even in his ward of Yandoton Daji or his Tsafe Local Government [Area]Area]. Where will he receive these votes when Zamfara’s entire 2023 tally was “far below that figure”?
We normally wouldn’t have responded to a politician like him, but we must set the record straight because he mentioned the President in a crude manner. No amount of propaganda can distract us, the statement continued. “Zamfara APC is united, formidable, and its recent victory in the Kaura Namoda South State Assembly bye-election proves that no amount of propaganda can distract us,” the statement continued.
In the meantime, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition’s state chapter has indicated its desire to include Senator Marafa.
Alhaji Yusuf Sa’id, the coalition’s chairman, predicted that the senator’s expertise would be crucial to expanding the movement’s political base in Zamfara and beyond.
The coalition welcomes everyone to the party, and we welcome him. As you can see, there are several members of this coalition: some from the APC, some from the LP, some from the NRM, and even some well-known political parties,” Sa’id.
Former APC chieftain Marafa vowed to remove at least one million votes from President Tinubu’s 2027 general election on September 1, 2025.
The former coordinator of the Zamfara State’s Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, who spoke in an interview on Channels Television’s program, “Politics Today” said, “Now, whether Mr. President would win or not is a question of seeing, but I want to assure you that something is happening today.
