Martin Scorsese’s heartbreaking tribute to late stars Rob and Michele Reiner

The brutal passings of When Harry Met Sally director Rob Reiner and his loving wife Michele shocked the film industry this year. Martin Scorsese has cherished his memories of the married couple.

A moving tribute to the late director Rob Reiner has been written by Martin Scorsese. On December 14, 2009, Rob and his wife Michele, a famous Hollywood actress, were discovered dead at their LA home along with their 32-year-old son Nick, who is currently being detained after being detained for the double murder.

Fellow award-winning director Martin, 83, has spoken out to lament the deaths of Rob and Michele, who were 78 and 70, respectively, two weeks after the horrifying events that shocked Hollywood. In the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street, Rob and Martin made a famous partnership, with Martin serving as the director.

Martin compared Rob to his contemporary’s passing and said he was a “Master” despite having had his own success in directorial successes like This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, and When Harry Met Sally. The Oscar-winning actor reflected on how close he had been to Rob, who he first met in 1970.

Michele and Rob Reiner were both my friends, Martin wrote in an essay for the New York Times. I’ll have to use the past tense from now on, which makes me feel so deeply sad. But “there isn’t any other option.”

The Shutter Island star said, “Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We naturally bonded with one another. He never had a bad ol’ laugh or a bad ol’ laugh in the room, but he was never that bad. He had a wonderful barrelling laugh and a beautiful sense of unfettered freedom, fully enjoying the present.

Martin praised the 1990 film Misery as “a very special film, beautifully acted by Kathy Bates and James Caan,” picking out some of his favorite movies from his late friend. and described the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap as “in a class of its own” and “a kind of immaculate creation.”

He wrote in an interview about directing Rob in The Wolf of Wall Street that he had the ability to “improvise with the best, he was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with Leo and the rest of the guys, and he understood the human condition of his character: The man loved his son, he was happy with his success, but he knew he was going to fall.”

Since their passing, Rob and Michele have received numerous other stars’ tributes. In an interview that aired over the past week on CBS’s 60 Minutes, Kathy Bates was one of those who discussed her experience working with him. She recalled how her life changed after Rob cast her in Misery, a 1990 psychological horror movie, for which she received an Oscar for Best Actress.

She stated on the program that George Bailey would have gone back and seen what his life would have been like if he hadn’t been there if I hadn’t directed “Misery.”

“Some of the friends I now have wouldn’t have existed,” I said. Without it, my life would not have been as rich. I’m not sure if I would have had a career in film and probably wouldn’t have left the theater. I’m a “pretty old guy,” I suppose.

Jake, 34, and Romy, 28, Rob and Michele’s other children, both 14, have been devastated by the deaths, and Nick is being held until a hearing next month. Words cannot even begin to describe the unbearable pain we are going through each day, according to a statement from them. No one should ever go through the horrifying and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. They were our best friends, not just our parents.

When discussing the circumstances surrounding their deaths, the siblings continued to thank and thank people for their love and support. We are appreciative of the kindness, condolences, and support we have received from people of all kinds, not just from our own families and friends.

We now request respect and privacy, tolerance for speculation and compassion for humanity, and the memorialization of our parents for the extraordinary lives they led and the love they shared.

Emmerdale star looks worlds away from character as she enjoys Christmas break

Rebecca Sarker, who plays Manpreet Sharma in the ITV soap, won over her fans when she exhibited her lace pyjamas after a day of outdoor cycling.

Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker has stunned fans with a tantalising Christmas snap. The 50-year-old soap star looked away from the camera as she posed in a lace top and pyjamas while warming up after being out for a festive cycle.

Rebecca, who has played Manpreet Sharma since 2018, teased her fans on social media with the tasteful photo. The TV babe showed her fans how comfortable she is at home after a day out on her wheels by flashing a coy smile and her hair around her shoulder.

Sharing the snap on her main Instagram grid, Rebecca wrote: “Ditched the bib shorts. Back in the pjs. #christmascheer #warm #cosy.” She added a no cycling sign emoji and a smiling face emoji to her post – which came soon after she shared a batch of snaps showing her in full lycra and out cycling in pale winter sunshine.

The Instagram photo quickly attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of comments from admirers who were quick to praise the TV actress for how amazing she looked in her loungewear. Rebecca explained earlier this year how her husband gave her the confidence to post more intimate photos online.

She previously admitted to telling The Sun that she had been putting on Lycra pants and a sports bra for some Emmerdale stunt work. I took a picture of my husband because I had been exercising and felt pretty good.

“He said, ‘Post it on Instagram’. My immediate reaction was, ‘No, no, I can’t post that’. But after checking with the production team asking if it was too outrageous, I was assured it wasn’t.” She went on to assure fans that she would never go as far as sharing x rated images on OnlyFans – which is something her Emmerdale character did do.

Rebecca credits Emmerdale with boosting her self-assurance in wearing glamorous dresses, thanks to the awards shows she has had the honor of watching. The actress was questioned about her involvement on Emmerdale in 2022 as it celebrated its 50th year on air.

When asked if the cast’s inclusion had altered her life, she responded, “Of course it has, not least because it occasionally allows me to wear some fantastic dresses on a red carpet.” Every job has the potential to transform acting for you; it’s a very temporary existence.

Being a regular in Emmerdale has given me the opportunity to establish some roots, professionally speaking, and it has given me some stability that is difficult to find in this profession. I could work abroad for two months, then in a studio doing an advertisement for a couple of days or performing theatre with different companies.

She recalled one of the most entertaining scenes from her time in the Dales so far, with an on-set accident that left her speechless in the middle of a dramatic scene involving her character, Charles Anderson, played by Kevin Mathurin, Emile John, Ethan Anderson, and Rishi Sharma, played by Bhasker Patel.

When Manpreet, Charles, Ethan, and Rishi engaged in a showdown on the high street, Rebecca recalls that she discovered that his wife isn’t quite the woman she thought she was and that she had a past relationship with Charles and Ethan.

“During one of my moving, tearful monologues, he accidently clicked the unlock button on the car, and it kept going off repeatedly,” Bhasker said, “It was very heightened, highly charged, and emotional. I was so entertained by it. Ethan is upset that Manpreet leaves him, and it occurs again.

Christine Lampard leaves huge ITV daytime show after almost a decade

There is no need for stand-ins with Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh because the size of the mid-morning show Lorraine has been reduced from the new year.

Christine Lampard has confirmed she will no longer be Lorraine Kelly’s replacement with ITV cut-backs days away from kicking in.

Earlier this year, TV bosses announced that Lorraine would be reduced to just half an hour daily shows – and would run on a seasonable basis for only 30 weeks a year. That means the Scottish star no longer needs a stand in as she will be presenting a shorter show five days a week.

Ranvir Singh and Christine, who have been stepping in for eight years, will continue to host fewer episodes while maintaining their “integrity” on ITV Daytime. Ranvir will host GMB and Christine on Loose Women. Every Friday and every school holiday, the pair covers for Lorraine.

Christine confirmed her exit on Instagram and she said: “After many years of being part of the @lorraine family it is now coming to an end. We’ve laughed, lunched and learnt so much from one another. Colleagues who have become the best of friends. As many of the team enter a new world in 2026, I want to thank every single person.”

In July, ITV media and entertainment managing director Kevin Lygo revealed that the channel’s daytime slate would face a huge change, with ITN taking over production of Good Morning Britain. The new start begins in January, with the format tweak meaning the show set to be off air for a number of weeks every year.

“Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will allow us to continue to deliver a schedule that gives viewers the news, debate, and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust,” she said.

“These changes also help us consolidate our news operations, expand our national, international, and regional news output, and strengthen our long-standing reputation for reliable journalism in a time when our viewers are more and more in need of accurate, objective news coverage than ever,” said the company.

An insider told The Mirror in the summer that Lorraine staff fear that she may quit the show following the cuts with the mid-morning show being slashed in size from next year.

“There are real concerns among staff that Lorraine may decide to leave the company if the quality of the program declines. It’s difficult to understand how standards won’t fall. and whether Lorraine wants to be associated with that is a question. They claimed that Lorraine and her team are “perfectionists,” which is why the show is so popular.

Holly and Tana Ramsay make nod to firm family bond with sweet detail at wedding

Holly Ramsey and Tana Ramsay tied the knot in front of a packed guest list at Bath Abbey on Saturday, sharing a sweet wedding nuptials with Holly.

Adam Peaty has officially tied the knot with Holly Ramsay at Bath Abbey in front of a star-studded guest list, but there is a key detail between Holly and her mum Tana Ramsay that you might have missed.

As their wedding shoes were matching, Holly and her mother Tana shared a sweet side to their wedding day. Fans were able to see Holly’s Amina Muaddi slingback lace heels, but the press only covered her dress for a large portion. Mum Tana chose to wear the same pair of shoes in black while she dazzled in an emerald green gown.

While Holly was covered up as she left Bath Abbey, there has been a large amount of speculation that her family friend, Victoria Beckham, who attended the wedding with husband David Beckham, made the dress.

Laura Sutcliffe, the beauty editor, spoke to HELLO! ‘Clinton’s wedding dress featured delicate ‘meshwork at the neckline,” according to magazine that Victoria Beckham has been using more lace “accentures” in recent collections.

She continued, “Victoria Beckham’s namesake label is well-known for its fine lines and classic silhouettes, but the fashion designer has added lace accents to her most recent collections. The neckline of Holly’s wedding dress is adorned with delicate meshwork, which is reminiscent of some of her more recent creations that feature the same lace.

“It’s also worth noting that Victoria has been branching out with her label; she created David’s suit that he wore when he collected his knighthood at Windsor Castle in November. It appears that bridal couture could be next on her list, especially as she was famously meant to design her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz ’s bridal dress for her wedding to Brooklyn in 2022.”

Adam and Holly tied the knot on Saturday, with the beaming newlyweds emerging hand-in-hand from Bath Abbey following one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings in recent years. Large crowds gathered for the post-Christmas service, with many guests including Adam himself having to be escorted into the historic building by burly guards.

Guests were served a wedding banquet which featured prawn cocktail, beef Wellington and pan-roasted halibut followed by a tarte tatin. A tradition wedding cake was served at 8pm, MailOnline reports.

A body language expert praised Holly’s appearance and claimed she looked to be in “full control” of her big day. Judi James told the Mirror: “Holly looked very much like the confident and radiantly happy bride, fully in control of her image as she walked into church with dad Gordon.

“Her dress was skillfully concealed beneath a silk cloak that she kept pulled in front of her torso to prevent any design leaks.” Her smile was very A-list and had her head raised to share her happiness, though it was partially aimed at the ground.

Managers are not magicians – Guardiola on Man City revival

Pep Guardiola, the manager, claims there hasn’t been a magic spell to restore the side after the “fog” has lifted at Manchester City.

A tense 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with the late goal from Rayan Cherki, gave them a chance to regain their top spot in the Premier League.

City are currently just two points behind after winning by 2-1 over Brighton.

After winning the previous four titles, they finished third last season, 13 points behind champions Liverpool.

Their season was derailed by one win in 13 games, including five straight defeats between October and November, and they also lost to Real Madrid in the knockout play-offs, which was their first exit in 12 years.

Managers are not magicians, according to Guardiola, who decide what they do and how they click their fingers until the details are clear.

“Sometimes you need a break. How many times did I judge and criticize the club last season?

Talks about the club World Cup helped to recover.

Guardiola, who travels with his team to Sunderland on January 1st, had several discussions with his squad during the summer’s Club World Cup, and believes the solution was made there.

He claimed that the reason we went to Al Hilal was that we were so good there. I said to myself, “OK, go on holidays,” but I was offended because we were good with the guys’ training and the competition.

Everyone was content when we arrived in Boca Raton, which is directly opposite the beach. We had numerous dinners and discussions [about] what we need to do next season. What must we accomplish. We simply wanted to live it out for a long time.

We turned around and said something about the conversation between Pep [Lijnders] and James [French] and Manel [Estiarte], Hugo [Viana], Txiki [Begiristain]. [Something] you can feel.

“Energy, energy, energy” It was lost last season. We began to compete and train better.
