Marquez wins seventh MotoGP title to equal Rossi

Marc Marquez, who won his seventh MotoGP World Championship, moved on to the same level as Valentino Rossi, who won his incredible comeback.

With five races left, Marquez, 32, secured his first title since 2019 by placing second behind Italian team-mate Francesco Bagnaia in the Japan Grand Prix.

He was greeted by his brother Alex, who was his closest competitor in the title race this year but finished sixth in Motegi, as he held his head in his hands and sobbed on his bike as he crossed the line.

It’s impossible to say, “I just want to enjoy the moment, but it’s true that it was difficult, it was really difficult,” Marquez cried in a fit.

Marquez’s success comes as a result of a “nightmare” that began in 2020.

He broke his arm in 2020, which required four operations over the course of two years after winning four straight championships from 2016 to 2019. He also suffered a number of injuries, including one that required four operations over the course of two years.

He left Honda after 11 years to join Ducati, and his years followed were filled with serious accidents and serious injuries.

“It was a big mistake in my career to come back from surgery too early.” Then, fighting, fighting, fighting, and I came out on top once more! So I’m at peace, he continued.
