Lily Allen explains how she packs over 40 different looks into a suitcase while traveling, giving you the best chance of overpacking.

You fall into either camp when it comes to taking a week off with just hand luggage or when you need a suitcase, carry-on bag, and a personal item to get through the weekend. Nowhere in between. If you fall under the latter category (and, similarly), Lily Allen’s helpful packing advice will help you maximize your space without having to dispose of any of those crucial “just in case” items.

Lily and her pal Miquita Oliver recently shared a quote from her podcast Miss Me that reads, “You can get more into a suitcase when you’re using a packing cube. As I previously mentioned, you can fit four, sometimes five outfits inside a suitcase before you can probably fit about ten packing cubes inside. For everything, she continued, “I have a packing cube.” I have a packing cube for shoes, a cube for my toiletries, and a cube for my looks.

If you can fit four or five outfits into a case and ten in a case, you have room for between 40 and 50 different looks without having to travel far. For just £19.99 (down from £14.99), you can get the Packing Cubes Trio at Lakeland’s current sale, which will make it easier to get your hands on if you want to put Lily’s advice into practice.

The packing cubes come in three different sizes, making it simple to organize your suitcase’s contents when you arrive at your destination. You can arrange them into full outfits or look like Lily does, or use them to organize your belongings according to type, such as shirts and tops in one, shorts and skirts in another, and dresses in third place.

The smaller cube is also ideal for storing toiletries in or for jewelry and other accessories. The cubes are secured with a zip and are made of strong polyester with a waterproof backing, which prevents the rest of your clothes from strewn in the event of minor shampoo explosions or leaks.

They were originally sold for £26.99, but they’re currently available for just £21.59 and come in eight different colors. Bandits Kill Scores, Rustle Cattle In Kebbi Community

Suspected bandits stormed Tadurga village in Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Monday night, killing an unconfirmed number of people, abducting several others, and rustling livestock.

According to a resident, Audu Sule, the attackers arrived in large numbers, firing indiscriminately and causing widespread panic.

“They came en masse, shooting indiscriminately, broke into shops to loot items, then went on to kill as many as they could, abduct people, and rustle our cows”, Sule said.

This latest incident threatens to undermine the relative gains made in the fight against banditry since Governor Nasir Idris assumed office.

Another resident, Abdullah Zuru, noted that the government’s sustained efforts had previously driven armed bandits away, allowing farmers to return to their fields and record a bumper harvest.

“Despite this recent attack, Zuru Emirate has been experiencing relative peace”, he added.

The spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed that he is not aware of the incident and promised to investigate and provide updates.

However, as of the time of filing this report, no official statement from the police.

Call for Support

Meanwhile, the Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, Alatoye Azeez, has called on Nigerians to support the efforts of the armed forces in the fight against insurgency.

said it was ungodly for citizens to conspire with criminals against frontline Nigerian soldiers.

“We can’t be colluding with bandits, terrorists, turning them against the soldiers. That is so ungodly, and that is a lack of sense of sacrifice because as they are sacrificing themselves, we also have to sacrifice ourselves by supporting them fully.

Louis Tomlinson caught on camera snubbing Sam Thompson at Soccer Aid

Obvious tensions simmered beneath the surface at this year’s Soccer Aid when Louis Tomlinson purposely avoided any kind of interaction with Sam Thompson

Louis Tomlinson and Sam Thompson both represented England at Soccer Aid this Sunday, raising millions for charity. All eyes had been on the pair for their antics off the pitch too, with Louis dating Sam’s ex Zara McDermott.

A clip of Louis appearing to snub Sam after the game has now gone viral.

As Louis, 33, made his rounds post-match hugging players and staff across both teams but he notably turned away and grimaced when Sam, 32, came into view. Instead of acknowledging him, Louis walked off to greet other stars, seemingly brushing off any potential interaction.

Their awkward dynamic has been simmering ever since Louis began dating Sam’s ex, Zara shortly after the Soccer Aid line-ups were revealed. Zara, 28, known from Love Island 2018, went public with Louis in March. The couple have since been jet-setting together, enjoying holidays in Costa Rica and Los Angeles.

Though the pair kept their distance during training at Champneys in Tring and sat on opposite ends of the Old Trafford changing room, fans picked up on the ongoing tension. A source told Mail Online: “Louis is seen literally embracing every squad member on both sides, except Sam. And the fact he looks away as soon as he comes into eyesight says it all.”

Despite the friction, both stars kept things civil in light of the event’s charitable purpose. “Given the charity context of the occasion… they were there to raise money and succeeded. But there’s clearly no love lost between them,” the insider added.

To defuse any unease ahead of the match – which raised over £15 million for UNICEF – Louis and Sam even attended a team bonding event. Sam had contributed significantly to the fundraising, embarking on a grueling 260-mile trek from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford, raising over £2 million, though injuries from the challenge limited his playtime on match day.

They didn’t share field time either as Louis exited at halftime and Sam was subbed in near the end. But it seems the behind-the-scenes drama caught more attention than their on-pitch performances.

Speaking on his podcast with Pete Wicks, Sam touched on Zara’s swift transition into a new relationship: “I suppose a lot of people look for validation in other people right? And they look for the next person instantly because it’s like ‘I need to find someone else to fill that hole and I need to find that excitement.’”

He was also asked by Pete what would happen if he were to bump into Louis at Soccer Aid. To which Sam replied: “At the end of the interview, he goes, ‘Look mate, I’ve got to ask the question that everyone wants to know… What’s it going to be like with you and Louis?’”

Sam said the room erupted in panic: “Mate, you should have seen the room – everyone goes, ‘Woah, Woah Woah, end the call!’ and I just said, ‘No, no guys, I’ve got this.’ I held my hands up to say just relax. I think I did alright and I meant everything I said. It’s not about me or Louis or who anyone is dating, it’s f**king Unicef and charity and everyone is going to be there for the exact same reason.”

Zara and Sam ended their five-year relationship in December. Since then, Zara has reportedly grown close with Louis’ family, as her romance with the singer continues to heat up.

Suriname: The South American Country Banking On Dutch-Born Players To Reach First World Cup

For years, the small South American country of Suriname, a former Dutch colony, has been instrumental in producing some of the Netherlands’ best footballers, from Frank Rijkaard and Ruud Gullit to Clarence Seedorf.

Now, nearly 40 years after Gullit inspired the Dutch to victory in the 1988 European Championships, their only major trophy, the boot is on the other foot.

Suriname is banking on Dutch players of Surinamese origin to help it achieve its wildest dream: booking a spot in the FIFA World Cup finals for the first time when it comes to North America in June next year.

“It’s a dream of the nation and we hope that we can fulfil that dream,” the president of the Suriname football federation Soerin Mathoera, told AFP in a recent interview in the Surinamese capital Paramaribo.

The tropical country of 600,000 people situated on the northeast coast of South America, ranked 137th in the world by FIFA, looked on with pride as its children’s children helped revive the fortunes of the struggling “Oranje” in the late 1980s.

After failing to qualify for the 1982 and 1986 World Cups, a fabled trio of Surinamese-origin  — Rijkaard, Gullit and Aron Winter — formed the nucleus of a new Dutch dream team.

It was not all plain sailing for players of color in the overwhelmingly white Dutch teams of the day.

Gullit complained of receiving racial abuse.

But the Surinamese influence endured.

In the 1990s, the likes of Edgar Davids helped the Netherlands reach the semi-final of the 1998 World Cup.

Current Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk, who has been a standout centre-back for English champions Liverpool, was born in the Dutch city of Breda to a Dutch father and Surinamese mother.

‘Much easier’ path to qualifiers

Now the time has come for Suriname football to have its own moment in the sun.

In pursuit of its World Cup dream authorities in the Caribbean nation six years ago broke with a longtime taboo by allowing players from the Surinamese diaspora join the national team.

The floodgates opened.

Six years on, only three of the 26 players in the Surinamese squad were born in the country.

The rest moved from Europe or Asia to play for their ancestral homeland, seen as having its best chance yet of reaching the World Cup at next year’s expanded tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico of 48 teams (up from 32 previously).

Despite being in South America, Suriname is part of the Concacaf (North, Central America and the Caribbean associations) federation.

Being in the same group as the hosts, who automatically qualify for the tournament, is a shot in the arm for Suriname.

With no competition from the co-hosts for the five remaining Concacaf spots, its chances of making it through have grown exponentially.

The team has gone into the qualifiers with a pep in their step, helped by a new crop of players with experience from Europe’s premier leagues.

And it shows.

A goal from Dutch-born Jaden Montnor gave Suriname a 1-0 victory over Puerto Rico on June 6, taking it to the third round of the qualifiers in September.

“We have made a lot of progress,” said Mathoera.

“We are among the best 14 countries within (41-federation) Concacaf,” he claimed.

The team’s assistant coach, Roberto Godeken, who also manages SV Robinhood, the country’s top club, agreed the path to the World Cup was “much easier” than in the past.

“We definitely have a much better chance of qualifying,” he said, crediting “the arrival of the diaspora” with taking Suriname football “to a higher level.”

 Suriname’s Kante

Renske Adipi “Kante”, 25, a midfielder for Robinhood and the national team, hopes to write his name in the sporting annals like his idol French midfielder N’Golo Kante.

Robinhood’s only fully professional player, who is in talks with foreign clubs about a transfer, said he was “learning a lot” from foreign-born players.

Diederik Samwel, the author of a book entitled “Suriname en route to the World Cup,” said it was only a matter of time before the technical prowess of local players, blended with the Europeans’ tactical skills, produced a breakthrough.

For Godeken, it would be a “historic” feat if Suriname made it through.

“It would put Suriname on the map,” he said.
