The 21-year-old took the early lead in Lottie Woad’s first professional round at Dundonald Links, where she won the Women’s Scottish Open.
After six birdies in 14 holes, including almost holing her tee shot at the short 11th hole, the former amateur world number one from Surrey had held onto her own.
However, Woad’s only bogey of the day came at the par-four 17th, where she was backed up alongside Rio Takeda from Japan, Rio Takeda from Spain, and Nuria Iturrioz from Ireland, who both shot five under-par 67.
“I will definitely take it, there were some positive aspects and some negative aspects,” Woad said.
“The wind made the last couple of holes challenging, and I was just playing for par.” Most of the day was pretty stress-free.
Woad, who won the Irish Open earlier this month, made the announcement last week that she would become a professional.
That came after Grace Kim’s finish was just one shot outside the play-off won by her in the women’s fourth major of the year, earning her £400,000 prize money.

Many of them had already been.
UN to suspend food aid in Northeast Nigeria due to funding shortfalls.
The aid package will include multi-purpose cash assistance for the affected populations as well as protection, shelter, water, sanitation, and hygiene.
“The conditions inside the camps are terrible. Families face a severe lack of shelter and unreliable access to clean, sanitary, and sanitation facilities (WASH). The humanitarian response is still a challenge because protection risks have increased significantly, particularly for women, children, and people with disabilities, making the access to livelihoods still difficult.
“The state of Benue has been shaken by a protracted humanitarian crisis that has been causing this most recent wave of violence,” reads the statement. Since 2018, more than 1.5 million people have been displaced from their homes.
The statement stated that the urgency of the situation was highlighted by the fact that “the violence’s escalation in 2024 and 2025 has already claimed some 6,900 lives and caused more than 400,000 to flee.

At the 20 August Lausanne Diamond League meeting, Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson will make her long-awaited injury-free return.
Since breaking a hamstring in February to win gold in Paris last August, the 23-year-old Briton hasn’t competed.
Hodgkinson will make her comeback just one month before the start of the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo following a minor setback that caused her to withdraw from Diamond League meetings in Stockholm and London.
Third time is a charm, I say! She responded to an Instagram post about her return from the event organizers.
Hodgkinson is aiming to return to top form just in time for the Worlds in September, where she will compete for the silver medals she won in 2022 and 2023.
On her way back to Switzerland, the British 800m record holder will face compatriots Jemma Reekie and Georgia Hunter Bell, who won in Hodgkinson’s absence in London.
The 13th of 15 events in the Diamond League this year take place in Lausanne.

The Scotland players have been put in an “unfair position” by the “very disruptive” build-up to the Rugby World Cup this summer, according to captain Rachel Malcolm.
More than half the squad’s contracts after the tournament were in doubt, according to a source from the Scotland camp, and the BBC players were being “suffering with their mental and emotional health.”
Although discussions are still ongoing, chief executive Alex Williamson stated that the contract negotiations would be settled prior to Scotland’s opener against Wales on August 23.
According to Malcolm, the announcement came as “a shock” and she described the timing of the announcement, which came so close to the end of the tournament, as “upsetting.”
It has been disappointing, according to Malcolm, having to deal with numerous off-field issues less than a month after the event.
Scottish Rugby is requesting comment from the BBC.
The 34-year-old flanker said, “I think the timing is the most frustrating.”
“As players, we want to put 100% of our energy into winning the biggest tournament of our careers, but there has obviously been that distraction,” we said.
“I believe that all of us are very passionate about helping Scotland grow,” but not to the detriment of our performance at this World Cup, which is ultimately the most crucial stage of our careers as players.
“I believe it’s a little unfair to place that distraction here,” she said.
Easson departing after “sticky” discussions.
Malcolm claimed that discussions with the Scottish Rugby hierarchy to try to resolve the contractual dispute left her feeling less than sympathetic toward our case because both the union and the Scottish Rugby hierarchy did not appear to have had much sympathy for our case.
Malcolm thinks that the head coach’s decision was made in light of the timing of Easson’s impending departure.
There isn’t much else we can do about it, she said, “I don’t think much of it was within his control, so obviously Scottish Rugby decided that’s the time to do it,” she said.
It’s not the most ideal form of preparation. It has caused a lot of disruption.
Easson acknowledged that the timing of the announcement was problematic because “sticky” discussions with Williamson took place last month, but he did not indicate whether he was stepping down.
After the Rugby World Cup, my contract was up. “We have been talking about it for a while to see what’s happening, and it’s been a while,” he said.
To be honest, discussions have been contentious, and there was a delay, but we did have a discussion three or four weeks ago.
“It was believed that this was the right moment to proceed. Although it was just an adult conversation between two people, I would have preferred the timing to have been a little bit different.
Mamma Mia’s cast is led by Amanda Costa! The Party, who plays the owner of Nikos Taverna on Skopelos, Greece.
In the hit television series Nikos, Antony Costa appears.
Mama Mia star Antony Costa has named his leading role! The Party described themselves as having done the best job I’ve ever had. The hit television series features the boyband star, 44, as patriarch Nikos the co-owner of Nikos Taverna on Skopelos, Greece.
Mamma Mia! has been around since August, 2019. Over 600,000 guests have gathered at The Party London, where over 1500 performances have been staged, and where guests from 110 different countries have dined, danced, and sang some of ABBA’s greatest hits.
As the sun sets in Skopelos, guests dine at Nikos’ family-run taverna for a delectable four-course Greek feast while a thrilling love story unfolds in front of them.
The taverna transforms into a glittering ABBA disco after the performance, which features timeless anthems like Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, and Waterloo.
In Mama Mia, Antony Costa delights audiences! The celebration
You just don’t know what you’ll get from one night to the next, Antony says. “I absolutely love it.” Every audience has a unique audience. There are things you can do while you’re in it besides just let go and enjoy yourself.
In 2023, Antony began entertaining audiences and declared it was a no-brainer to come back. I literally jumped at the chance when I was called back. I was like, “Yeah, I’m around, let’s do it.” Let’s go”!
Additionally, Björn Ulvaeus, one of the show’s creators, has given the party the seal of approval. According to Antony, “Bjorn’s team had this idea of creating this immersive show because he said when you go to see Mama Mia!” People are yelling to get up and dance during the West End show. With Abba, you can’t help but be in the mood for Mama Mia! “The Party got going,” says Antony.
You still want to get up and dance, according to ABBA songs, no matter how many times you’ve heard them. You can see the crowds we have, which include children and teenagers, adults and their mothers and dads, and older people who are just dancing and singing along.
The boyband star claims that it is a testament to Abba’s status as a pop group that they released Waterloo 50 years ago and that they are still singing it out.
Antony’s role in the show allows him to rekindle his Greek roots while also paying homage to one of the greatest pop bands of all time.
A lively Greek taverna is hidden away inside the 02 Arena!
I chose to base the character on my late grandfather, his mannerisms and characteristics, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable part to get my teeth into. Don’t get me wrong, I had to do my homework because it wasn’t a character I didn’t know, says Anthony, but it was simple preparation. It’s about correcting his pronunciation and the broken-in English he spoke in. He moved to the United States as a young man to support his family, my father, his and his sisters, and his family.
Antony’s performance is so infatuated with his boyband background that he even declines to acknowledge it. A man who had come from the north came in and said, “Oh my God, I’m a huge Blue fan, and I’m seeing you guys in Manchester!” “, and I thought, “Sorry, Blue people? ” I don’t know what you’re talking about. He seemed unsure, but while the show was airing, Mamma Mia! is set on the Greek island of Skopelos. “films are made,”
The 02 venue is transformed so that as soon as audiences walk through the blue doors they immediately feel as though they’ve stepped foot in balmy Greece – with incredible attention to detail bringing the space alive – as well as the actors working their way through the tables.
According to Antony, “It looks like a village I would have visited when I was a young boy.” I walk in every night, you know, and believe this place of work, which still frightens me.
Even though Antony and her boyfriend dance together every night, there have been some unfortunate incidents in the show’s immersive elements.
Guests are encouraged to attend the party.
The star laughs, “I’ve tripped over, I’ve fallen, I’ve slipped, I’ve done it all,” the singer says. You have to make it appear as though something like that is taking place right now. You still need to make it seem as though it’s your night after hundreds of shows over the years.
“My character would act as though I were going to try to get a go at the waiters if I went over.” We can fix a spill on a beverage. All of it is in jest. It’s fake, but it’s real at the time.
We all yell “Opus” when we hear a plate smash, which is what you would do in any Greek restaurant. It maintains the authenticity!

Antony’s Greek family, who has seen the show four times, has given him the seal of approval. They adore it, especially my father, who immigrated from Cyprus in 1961. When my dad saw it, he said, “You based that on my dad didn’t you?” He noted that it meant a lot.
Antony joined the boyband Blue, with members Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Duncan James, in 2000 and are celebrating their 25th anniversary.Mamma Mia! The Party originally opened in Stockholm in January 2016. The O2 London arena tickets including admission, a four-course set meal and a welcome drink.
