Tommy Fury’s dad tells him to ‘get a grip’ as boxer complains about social media

Boxer and reality star Tommy Fury was shut down by his father, John Fury, after he tried to open up about his recent ‘horrendous’ struggles

Tommy Fury’s dad, John, rolled his eyes and told him to ‘get a grip’ after the boxer complained about the last six months of his life before blaming social media for his woes. In a teaser clip for his new programme, Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury, the Love Island star was seen sitting in the living room with his dad discussing how ‘tough’ life has been for him in recent months.

In the programme that was filmed in the months after his shock break-up from Molly-Mae Hague and before they got back together, he said: “My life has been absolute torture for the past six months. Horrible. Going out in public, getting screamed at. Ad when you go out in public and someone says something, what are you meant to do?

“Tip your head and f**king walk on? The reason why, you know all of this is here, is because of social media.” It comes after Tyson Fury’s huge net worth is revealed as Morecambe face going out of business.

Tommy continued: “And it’s because you have a profile, and it’s because people are interested in you. If you didn’t, you’d be f**ked. You wouldn’t earn a penny. So it’s tough. It’s just been a constant.”

John was sitting close to him and was seen rolling his eyes as Tommy tried to open up about his struggles before the dad interrupted to say: “Yeah, it’s not tough,” with Tommy insisting: “It has, it’s been horrible.”

The reality star’s father told Tommy he was ‘in his head’ and the father-of-one claimed: “It’s been horrendous”. John had enough of Tommy’s self-pitying and asked his son: “Has anybody died? There’s no on dead, is there?

“Your baby’s healthy, you live in a nice house, you got a good car. You’re flying high. It’s your mind taking over you. Fuck ’em all! And live your life and enjoy what you’ve got. Or else you’ll never be happy.”

Tommy, who recently reunited with Molly-Mae, said he wasn’t bothered by anybody else’s opinions, adding: “I wanna know when I’m back in the ring and what the f**k direction my life’s taking.”

“Well, guess what? Every boxer in the world’s got this problem,” an increasingly fed-up John told his son, who was in denial and said: “No, they haven’t.”

John continued: “Of course they have. You take too much for granted. But I’m an old school kind of man. You’re never gonna learn from today’s people because they don’t know anything.”

When Tommy tried to argue that the times have changed, John added: “Well, you’re going to have a very unhappy life. Come on, man. Give it a break. You’re overthinking everything. Get a grip, know your worth, and march on forward. And we’re sat here, ‘social media don’t like me’. Get me out of here.”

As he gave Tommy his harsh advice, John got up from the couch to put on his coat and beanie before walking out of the room and out of the conversation.

Criminals Won’t Go Scot-Free In Imo — Commissioner

The Imo State Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, has said that the state government is intolerant of crime in the state.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Lunchtime Politics, Emelumba said that the level of security in the state had improved as there was no hiding place for criminals.

While addressing concerns over the killing of seven people in the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state, he said, “Yes, it took some time, but the most important thing is that he]the suspect] was arrested and I think the government should be commended for going all out to ensure he was arrested”.

On the current state of security, the commissioner said, he said there had been an improvement compared to previous years.

“That does not mean we have a completely safe Imo State. Like every other society, we still have security breaches here and there.

” That does not in any way suggest that the situation is getting worse. As far as I am concerned, these cases are not as frequent as they used to be in the past, “he added.

He assured the public that efforts were underway to bring the perpetrators of the latest killings to justice.

On the controversial Monday sit-at-home directive, Emelumba said,
” I can tell you that in Imo State, the sit-at-home thing is almost history. “

He added that while fear still lingers among some citizens, the government had done everything to reassure the public.

” We have done everything to reassure the people that they are free to come out and work on Mondays. And I think they are responding. Even in the villages, some of them have started responding, and they have seen that they are safe, “he noted.

He said that Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration had significantly increased investment in infrastructure.

The late Ozzy Osbourne’s widow Sharon Osbourne has shared a comment that he made about his fans before his death. She’s also revealed how his final concert fulfilled an ambition for her when it came to his decades-long career.

It was announced last month that Ozzy had died, aged 76, on July 22. The news came just over two weeks after he had reunited with his former Black Sabbath bandmates for his farewell gig Back to the Beginning in Birmingham on July 5.

Sharon, 72, opened up about the concert in an interview, published this week, that took place just five days before her Ozzy’s death. It comes after Sharon Osbourne broke down in tears at Ozzy’s funeral in heartbreaking scenes.

Whilst speaking to Pollstar on July 17, Sharon said that, on the night of the concert at Villa Park, Ozzy had expressed surprise over the amount of support he had received. She told the outlet that they sold 40,000 seats at the stadium itself, though the one-off gig was also livestreamed.

She recalled: “He turned around and he said to me that night, he said ‘ I had no idea that so many people liked me'”. When asked why he would have felt like that, Sharon said that her husband had “always” lived in his “own bubble”.

Sharon described Back to the Beginning, which is set to be released as a concert film next year, as a “huge success”. She said that it proved to be a “phenomenal event” and reminded that it was raising money for three charities.

She suggested that it’s the first time that an artist has gone into retirement with a livestreamed charity gig. Sharon said in the interview published earlier this week: “So it’s the first time anybody has said goodnight like that, it’s the perfect way, when you’ve had such a long career, to end it”.

The former X Factor judge, who was once Ozzy’s manager, added that she had always wanted her husband to retire with a “big event”. Sharon told the outlet: “I never wanted Ozzy to just disappear without some big event.”

She said that it was the “best way” to retire. Sharon said that it brought him “home” to Birmingham “where it all started” and was at his favourite stadium, which is home to his “beloved” Aston Villa. She said that it was “just perfect”.

The build-up to the concert is set to feature in the upcoming documentary Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, which is due to be released by the BBC on August 18. The project, which initially followed Ozzy and Sharon as they moved back to the UK, was filmed over three years.

The broadcaster added that the late singer and his family are included in the film’s “moving and inspirational account of the final chapter of Ozzy’s life.” They are said to be preparing for his final performance in the one-hour movie and dealing with his ill health.

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Partey joins Villarreal after bail on rape charges

Thomas Partey, a Ghana international, recently left Arsenal for La Liga side Villarreal.

The 32-year-old left the Gunners at the end of June after signing for them for a £45 million deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

Four days later, Partey was accused of sexual assaulting a third woman and five counts of rape against two other women.

Partey, who denies the accusations, was given a conditional bail hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Partey must notify police of any permanent address changes or travel abroad in accordance with the bail conditions.

Villarreal stated in a statement that the organization is aware that the player is currently facing legal issues in England.

The player firmly refutes all accusations leveled against him and says he is innocent.

The club adheres to the presumptive of innocence, which is the foundation of the legal system, and will hold the case’s outcome in mind as it becomes clear that the facts are the subject.

Partey was the subject of a detectives’ investigation that began in February 2022, leading to the charge.

Nearly 1, 000 people have signed a petition to protest Partey’s signing that was created by online content hub The Villarreal Report.

In addition, Villarreal added that it “strongly condemns any act of violence in all its forms, including gender-based violence, discrimination, racism, xenophobia, or any behavior that undermines the dignity of individuals.”

Partey will start his new club on Friday and will make an appearance at the Old Bailey on September 2.

Chainsaw economics, organ sales and governing by dog: Argentina under Milei

Mehdi Hasan debates ex-FM Diana Mondino on Milei’s fitness to lead and his radical ‘ chainsaw ‘ economics.

In 2024, Argentina’s far-right President Javier Milei launched an economic overhaul that slashed public spending, gutted state institutions and triggered massive protests.

The government dubbed it “chainsaw economics”. Critics say it’s deepening poverty and pushing the country into chaos, while Milei continues to make headlines for bizarre behaviour, including claims he takes political advice from his dead dog’s clones.

So who is really running Argentina – and at what cost?

Mehdi Hasan goes head-to-head with Diana Mondino, who served as Milei’s foreign minister before being abruptly fired. She defends the president’s policies, brushes off Milei’s personal attacks, and distances herself from his more extreme views, including his support for organ sales and his insults towards the late Pope Francis.
