Zak Starkey, a former Oasis drummer, claims he was “gutted” after learning he wouldn’t be a part of Liam and Noel Gallagher’s dazzling reunion this summer.

Oasis star Zak Starkey is consoling himself after being ditched from the Gallagher brothers’ eagerly awaited reunion tour. Fans of the Britpop legends were sent into a frenzy last year when Liam and Noel announced they were putting their fiery feud behind them and getting the back back together after a 16-year hiatus.

Fans can’t wait to see the Don’t Look Back In Anger stars backstage at Cardiff on July 4 for a show. However, Zak, a former drummer for the band who played with Oasis between 2004 and 2009, won’t be on the lineup.

Zak appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning (May 27) to promote his new single with supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos, which also features Bez and Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays alongside former Oasis bassist Andy Bell.

When asked what he thought of the upcoming reunion tour, he said he was “gutted” not to be asked to attend the shows.

He responded, “I texted them and asked, why am I not in it. ‘. You know you feel more at ease when you start a new drummer, don’t you? You become comfortable with brand-new musicians, and I believe that’s what has happened.

He continued, saying that, had the offer been for him to join Oasis on tour, he would have accepted it. He also praised the band and Liam, saying: “God, yeah. Greatest rock and roll group of my generation. Greatest rock and roll artist of my generation.

Noel Gallagher wrote his group’s new single Domino Bones after suggesting it would work better for them, according to Zak, who is the son of Beatles legend Ringo Starr.

The drummer claimed to be shocked by Noel’s offer and that he couldn’t believe it when he spoke to Ben Thompson. Sending me a tune from the greatest songwriter of my generation.

Andy Bell, a fellow Mantra of the Cosmos member, announced last week that he would be traveling with Liam and Noel on their reunion tour. The bass player, who played for Oasis between 1999 and 2009, said he was “really looking forward to it.”

Eagle-eyed fans shared snaps of Noel and Andy at rehearsals for the reunion gigs last week.

Those who were able to secure their spot are thrilled, especially after a glimpse of the band at the rehearsal studio, despite some controversy over Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing” strategy, which saw ticket prices double their value.

Lauren Silverman, Simon Cowell’s fiancée, and Bruno Tonioli, the judging panelist for the ITV talent show, have established a close friendship.

Simon Cowell’s fiancée Lauren Silverman has given a rare interview about their son Eric, revealing that Britain’s Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli is ‘like a godfather’ to the 11-year-old. The former Strictly Come Dancing star joined Simon on the judging panel of the ITV talent show two years and has since struck up a close friendship with his family.

Lauren praised Bruno for accompanying her to the annual event in SW3, jokingly saying, “Simon never goes anywhere. ” As Lauren opened up about the friendship while enjoying the blooms at the Chelsea Flower Show last week. She also revealed that Eric, Simon’s only child, enjoys being around the Italian star because she explained that the 11-year-old calls him “Uncle Bruno.”

When questioned if Bruno resembled Eric as her godfather, she responded, “Yes definitely. To us, he’s Uncle Bruno. “Eric loves him”

Fans could be forgiven for thinking Eric may be a little spoilt because he is the only child of a multi-millionaire music mogul. Bruno, however, argued that this was not the case, adding, “He is not spoiled at all, actually. He was raised very carefully and was very well.

Bruno is often invited to visit Simon and his fiancée at their lavish summer retreat in the Cotswolds, for a ‘spot of yoga or clay pigeon shooting’. Victoria and David Beckham also have a palatial pile in the area. However, when asked if they spend much time with the Beckhams, Lauren said: “They’re busy people. We kind of keep ourselves to ourselves.”

Bruno continued, “It’s good to keep what’s happening in your private life very quiet. No one is aware of what is happening, which is how I like it. We simply chill out and don’t even talk about our jobs.

Lauren says that her son Eric and Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon’s children have ‘grown up together’ behind the scenes on BGT, saying there’s a nice “family vibe”. Shedding light on the award-winning show, she said: “All of the kids they’ve grown up together. It’s a nice family vibe with us all there. It’s lovely.”

Lauren and Simon welcomed their Eric on Valentine’s Day in 2014, with the SyCo star last year revealing how much he had changed his life.

Speaking to OK! magazine following the Together For Short Lives annual gala, Simon revealed he had toured a potential new school for his son, saying: “It was great fun, but it reminded me of my own school days. I would get that Sunday night feeling at 7pm – what excuse could I come up with for the following day to avoid it? I’d try every trick in the book. Fortunately, Eric’s not like that; we’re in a good place with him.”

He continued, “He has started taking drum lessons, and we have bought him a kit,” implying that he may have a musical career ahead of him. It’s amazing to watch him play in his bedroom because he has great timing and music. He appears to be a young rock star. Although it’s not the violin, thank God! That would have been a no.

Meanwhile, Eric, who frequently visits BGT’s set, is said to have “a tip” about the winner of the much-loved talent show, which culminates in a star-studded finale on Saturday.

When asked if he knew who the winner would be, proud mother, Lauren, made a joke about it: “I’m sure he does”!
