Japan logs two new highest temperatures on record in a day

According to the Japanese Meteorological Agency, the country’s temperature record set at 41.6 degrees Celsius (106.8 degrees Fahrenheit) and then 41.8C (107.2F), which indicates that the day’s temperature may rise even further.

Isesaki, in the southern Gunma Prefecture of the country’s northern Kanto region, had a scorching temperature record on Tuesday surpassing the previous week’s 41.2C (106.2) record in the western Hyogo region.

The previous high was 41.1C (106F) – seen in 2020 and 2018.

The weather agency reported on Friday that the month’s record high was 2.89C above the average from 1991 to 2020, making it the hottest month since records began in 1898.

The temperature reached 40C (104F) last week in Kyoto, the first observation point since it opened in 1880, and the newest observation point since 2002, according to authorities.

In 44 of Japan’s 47 prefectures, heatstroke warnings were issued.

The summer in Japan last year was the joint hottest on record, equaling the 2023 average, followed by the warmest fall since records began 126 years ago.

As a result of climate change, temperatures have increased significantly around the world, and Japan is no exception.

Experts warn that the beloved cherry trees in Japan are blooming earlier because the climate is warmer and winters are not cold enough to trigger flowering.

In comparison to the typical early October period last year, the famous snowcap of Mount Fuji didn’t appear until the longest period ever recorded.

The meteorological office, which has been collecting such data since 1973, reported that South Korea had its second-hottest July, with an average temperature of 27.1C (80.8).

The hottest July ever recorded in South Korea was in 1994, when the average temperature reached 27.7C (81. 9F).

Farmers complain that the sizzling heat combined with the lack of rain are preventing rice cultivation in Japan, while some dams and paddies across the country are experiencing a water shortage.

There were record-breaking low rainfall in northern regions of Japan, it added, with low precipitation in large areas of Japan in July. Another record-breaking rainy season came to an end in the western regions of Japan about three weeks earlier than usual.

To prevent heatstroke, maintain hydration, and avoid outdoor activities during high summertime, Japanese officials advise the public to seek shelter in air-conditioned rooms.

Japan, which has the second-oldest population in the world after Monaco, is especially vulnerable for the elderly.

According to Copernicus, an EU climate monitor, this year saw the region’s hottest June on record as a result of brutal extreme temperatures sweeping the country in punishing back-to-back heatwaves.

The temperature reached 4C higher in July, according to separate research that found that it was caused by climate change, pushing the thermometer into deadly territory for thousands of vulnerable people and significantly worsening the predicted death toll.

Caity Baser, a TikTok star, has revealed that she has a secret family feud that has resulted in her “blocking” of her mother.

Caity gives two harrowing sexual assault experiences in a heartbreaking new interview, and she claims she wants to be more outspoken about such difficult subjects.

She resurrected her troll pit a year later when she took a stand against body-shamers. The Pretty Boys singer, 23, addresses Paul C. Brunson in a candid interview on his popular podcast We Need to Talk about her deeply flawed decision to “block” her mother: “On paper, she was great – emotionally, not so much.

When Caity asked if she could get a contraception implant and asked if she could have one, the relationship with her mother strained, and Caity claims the conversation that ensued left her feeling “shamed.”

Caity, a nominee for the Brit Award, recalls: “She was like, “Why? ” You call yourself a s**g, right? Do you like to sleep? What will the boys think of you?

I distinctly recall being like, “Oh my God! I’m in the car!”

“Sex is something you should discuss with your kids,” he said. The birds and the bees conversation was something I had to have with my dad.

My father said, “So this is what happens… ” He was like, “Hey, so who was it then? ” as I laughed the entire way through.

“Because he already knew I’d already done it,” he said.

It was taboo for my mother to only have boys, relationships, and anything else.

Caity claims to have had a “great upbringing” and a “lovely life” because she was raised on a council estate in Southampton with her two big brothers.

She laughs when her brothers and dad wagered that if she posted her first musical video, she would go viral. “It went viral, but they never got their £50,” she says.

She claims she would like to travel through time and tell her mother she needs to have open communication with her without being s***ed or shamed.

However, the two are currently “don’t talk,” and Caity believes that the past two years have been”peaceful.”

She tells the Married at First Sight relationship expert, “She’s been blocked for like two years.”

“I wouldn’t just not talk to her without a reason,” she said. You become so uneasy at one point, like, “You literally make me so unhappy.”

“And I would have eliminated you years ago if it had been anyone else.” However, you are my mother, and that makes you unique.

She continues, “This is also her first home.” She is also permitted to make errors. That’s how you handle it, I suppose.

She continues, “I saw her for the first time at my brother’s wedding… I only saw her a few months ago.”

Without her, my life would be so peaceful, but she would have been interfering with my brain. “This is so sad.

Caity continues: “I feel like it’s just so far gone now – two years. When I saw her at the wedding it was just so weird. She was like: ‘Oh look I love you.’ And I was like: ‘I love you.”

She said, “Do you though, please? ” and she responded. Really?

“Oh God, I was like. I’m going to say, “Please mummy, love me” because I feel this big once more.

Caity is advised to express her feelings in a letter to her mother in an effort to reconcile.

Caity goes on to discuss how her grandad’s neighbor sexually assaulted her when she was eight years old, which she claims affected her relationship with her grandad in her song Weight of You.

Caity claims that her father weeps when he hears one of her songs.
Caity claims that her father weeps when he hears one of her songs.

She claims that this is where all of my issues with relationships and myself come from. “You trust an adult to do the right thing and make you feel safe, just like when you’re young.”

That’s such a big part of who I am and how I approach situations.

Caity claims that whenever her father hears the song, he “cries.”

Caity also reveals that a friend she had been seeing romantically at the age of 19 had raped her in her song Drank Me Dry.

She explains that there were two instances where it happened, and she didn’t want it to happen.

The lyrics to “Drank Me Dry” are “I really liked you, I really loved you, and you were so much fun.” And all it took was one night to ruin everything for me, make me feel so uncomfortable, and ruin everything. What purpose did that serve?

Caity recalls how she was “pretty drunk” at the time and that she resisted the man starting sex with her anyway because she resisted wanting to have sex with him.

She goes on to say, “I never believed there was anything wrong with what happened to me.”

She and her friend spoke about the incident for a year, and she was informed that the situation was unacceptable.

I sent him a text about a week later, saying, “By the way, I just thought you should know that that night… I remember everything that happened.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one, I don’t believe that’s how it happened, I figuratively wrote it down, I sent it to him, and he returned.

I haven’t spoken to him since. Awful. “

This is also a continuation of the myth that having sex once gives you consent forever, as Caity describes how the man had appeared to believe they could have sex as they had previously done. Definitely not. “

Caity now hopes to represent victims of similar abuse.

She continues, “This is a specific topic that I am going to figure out how to become an advocate around,” adding that she enjoys “being” the voice of Gen Z and wants to use her platform permanently.

She says, “I’m personally going to try to do more.” These conversations are excellent starting points.

“I think I will continue to speak about issues that aren’t frequently discussed if I can be the voice of many young people.” those challenging subjects. Because having someone to look up to and say, “That happened to me. ” is really important.

Conor Maynard ‘screaming in pain’ over terrifying health ordeal

Conor Maynard has shared his harrowing medical experience, including releasing new music for his fans, that has prevented him from doing what he loves most.

Conor Maynard discussed his health concerns.

Conor Maynard has candidly opened up on a scary health ordeal that left him and his girlfriend in a panic. The singer, 32, took to Instagram to inform his followers of his situation as he uploaded a worrying looking snap of him on a stretcher.

The Can’t Say No hitmaker acknowledged that he had been left “screaming in pain.” And he confirmed that he had been “pretty quiet over the past few months” as a result of the incident.

Taking to his social media account, Conor said he wanted to tell his followers why he had been off-grid slightly. This comes months after he had vowed to “tell his side of the story” after his Charlotte Chilton baby drama.

He wrote on social media on Monday, “So I thought I’d explain why I’ve been quiet over the past few months, and why I released one song in May and then vanished without warning when the original intention was to post a number of songs for you guys.

I mentioned earlier this year that I was having back issues, and it has been a long road.

He complained that a picture of a cannula in his arm and another of himself being carried on a stretcher were both taken. The actor continued, explaining how he had informed them of a problem with his back earlier in the year and called it “quite the journey.” He later confirmed that there was a “bulbing disc between my L5-S1” problem.

After expressing his appreciation for the fans’ concerns and wishes at the time, he made sure to point out that others with similar issues would not necessarily find this story to be the same.

He said, “I tried going to a chiropractor for about 3-4 weeks,” before claiming that it wasn’t working. The singer received epidural steroid injections as a result.

He claimed that he would feel better on some days, but he also claimed that there would occasionally be no improvement. Then, over the weekend that I was about to leave, I suddenly experienced a “he confided,” which caused the most intense pain to both my right leg and the problem area.

“It completely caused my legs to buckle, but luckily I had something soft to fall onto while I was standing next to my sofa,” I said.

Conor claimed that he couldn’t locate a comfortable position and was forced to “scream out loud in pain.” He lost the color of his face as a result of the problem, which caused his girlfriend to call him an ambulance in a fit of panic.

There isn’t much that can be done right away with this kind of injury besides manage the pain and then make more long-term recovery attempts, he continued.

“As of right now, it seems like surgery is the only option, but that’s obviously kind of scary, lol. “

Conor described how caring for his new puppy has been impacted by the ordeal in “so many ways.” He also acknowledged that he couldn’t hold up a camera, making it nearly impossible to film any new music content.

Conor acknowledges that his daily activities, including football and padel, are preventing him from engaging in any of his hobbies.

As he attempted to navigate his issue, he concluded by saying to his fans, “Tip tips are still always appreciated.” Hope I’m back to fighting as soon as possible, doing what I love, and releasing music for all of you as soon as possible.

How will Russell feel about Mercedes contract saga?

Lando Norris narrowed the Australian’s lead to nine points in the race for the drivers’ championship by leading a McLaren one-two at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Formula 1 will now take a summer break before hosting the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort on August 29 and 31.

BBC Sport F1 correspondent Andrew Benson answers your latest questions following the race at the Hungaroring.

After Oscar Piastri attempted to dive-bomb Lando Norris once more, will McLaren be privately concerned about the tense feud that is tarnishing the two drivers’ relationships? What can they say to both drivers to make them both happy, if applicable? – Jake

McLaren was pleased with the outcome of the Hungarian Grand Prix. They thought it best represented the philosophy they have adopted for their driver-to-drive team intra-team competition.

They are allowed to race each other, as long as they are fair – and that includes the possibility of divergent strategies to try to win a race that has been getting away from one or another.

Lando Norris did that in Hungary on Sunday. At the end of the first lap, Norris had to fight back from fifth place after finding himself in the wrong spots while trying to pass Oscar Piastri off the line.

He and engineer Will Joseph opted for a one-stop strategy that McLaren had not really considered would be a serious choice pre-race. In his final assignment, it gave him the track position over Piastri, and he did it flawlessly.

By allowing Piastri to have the best chance to defeat Norris within the bounds of the race’s duration, even to the point where it cost Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc track position, McLaren made every effort to give him the best chance to win.

But it did not work out for Piastri – he caught Norris with a few laps to go, but Norris had kept his tyres in decent shape and was able to fend his team-mate off.

A tense, fascinating race was born from it. More importantly, the radio transmissions, particularly those between Piastri and engineer Tom Stallard, showed how significant this conflict is to both drivers for the first time. Piastri claimed that he “didn’t care” about Leclerc.

Relations have been – and remain – so harmonious that it has sometimes been hard to appreciate the intensity of the title fight, how much it means to them, from the drivers ‘ public utterances. There was no doubt about it after reading this.

McLaren’s management was delighted, far from being concerned.

Chief executive officer Zak Brown described it as “an epic finish”.

When two outstanding drivers, like Lando and Oscar, compete for a title in a Formula 1 grand prix and compete for the drivers’ championship, it’s always going to be very close, according to team principal Andrea Stella on Sunday.

“But that was fair racing at the same time as that was firm racing.” It was definitely within our principles.

Oscar and I had a little lock-up, but Lando also left some room because he knew he would have to stop braking.

We continue to be extremely proud of our Lando and Oscar victories. This is a great way of honouring F1 racing. Even though we saw Ferrari compete for the victory for two-thirds of the race, these are the values of McLaren, and it will likely be a question between the two McLaren drivers.

It appears certain Mercedes will resign George Russell now that Max Verstappen will remain at Red Bull for the following year. Given how well he has driven this year, is there any way he might explain his feelings about he seemingly being seen as the second Max option? – Tom

In the weeks leading up to the Hungarian Grand Prix, Russell very clearly stated that he was not particularly happy with the way his contractual situation this year has been handled.

Mercedes manages and employs him both. He still gets to discuss his contract with Mercedes, but it means he has less leverage than he would in a more conventional arrangement.

Something that we need to consider, Russell said. What do I want and what do they want?

” We have been in a bit of a unique situation for the last few months. This agreement doesn’t really give me much power. And perhaps the last six months’ interests diverged.

“But it’s my job to perform and reduce that risk.

The team and Toto [Wolff] continue to support me, but the last six months haven’t been the most reassuring, and that is contradictory.

Next year, both Russell and Antonelli will continue to compete for Mercedes. It’s also clear that the same situation as arose this year could arise again next.

Is there a compelling reason why Aston Martin performed so much better in Hungary than it did in the past? Both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll were significantly faster than the previous week. Stan

Aston Martin themselves were a little perplexed as to why their performance for the Hungarian Grand Prix had improved significantly.

After all, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll were together on the back row of the grid in Belgium the week before, and there they were together on the third row in Hungary.

But really, there doesn’t seem to be that much of a mystery.

Alonso once said, “I would say that it’s track characteristics. We didn’t change the car massively since Spa, seven days ago. No one has any new parts. Simply put, the circuit’s characteristics seem to fit our car, not ours.

“It will be nice to understand why the car is operating in this sweet spot here, because if we understand that, we can use it in the next few races”.

Here, there are two things to consider. One is that Aston Martin had a positive outlook prior to Spa when it completed a significant upgrade at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in mid-May.

Alonso qualified fifth at Imola, seventh in Monaco, 10th in Spain, sixth in Canada, 11th in Austria and ninth at Silverstone.

In that context, not Hungary, but Spa should be taken off the rails.

The Aston Martin is a car that struggles on the straights, which is a result of poor aerodynamic performance. And two-thirds of Spa is straights. Much more corners are present in the Hungaroring.

Silverstone is a fast track, but Aston Martin ran an old-style floor at Spa, believing it would fit the track, which also caused the Eau Rouge bottoming issue.

This meant abandoning the new floor introduced at Silverstone for a previous-spec one introduced at Imola.

That might have contributed.

Alonso’s outstanding race on Sunday resulted in the same race result as Lando Norris’ one-stop strategy, which he used to secure his grid position in Hungary. And Stroll was less than 10 seconds behind in seventh.

It would seem logical to assume that Aston Martin’s performance will continue to fluctuate in line with track characteristics.

Does conducting investigations after a race is over hurt F1’s reputation? There is no other sport that I can think of where the outcome can change. – Martin

Following the race in Hungary, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton decided to investigate the incident, which is presumably a reference to this.

The FIA should have responded to numerous requests from teams and drivers in the past to thoroughly examine potentially contentious situations rather than make their own decisions during the race.

Take the controversy between Verstappen and Lando Norris in Austin last year. McLaren then argued that before making a decision, stewards should have heard both drivers’ opinions.

The stewards in Hungary made the decision to do that.

As it turned out, Hamilton did not turn up for the hearing. Verstappen once said, “I don’t think Lewis actually felt a lot for it because, of course, he’s in the stewards’ room, right? “

That’s just one little thing, I believe, because neither of us had the best weekend in the world.

Of course, it may also have been that Hamilton did not turn up because he was in a bad mood after a difficult weekend and he didn’t fancy arguing the toss over an incident that would make no difference to the result of his race.

In the weeks leading up to the Hungarian Grand Prix, Russell very clearly stated that he was not particularly happy with the way his contractual situation this year has been handled.

Mercedes manages and employs him, so the team can effectively bargain with themselves about his contract.

As Russell put it: “Something we need to think about. What do I want and what do they want?

Is there a compelling reason why Aston Martin performed so much better in Hungary than it did in the past? Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso both had significantly faster times than the previous week. – Stan

Aston Martin themselves were a little perplexed as to why their performance for the Hungarian Grand Prix had improved significantly.

After all, Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso were sitting together in Hungary’s third row, just as they were sitting in Belgium the previous week.

But there doesn’t seem that much of a mystery, really.

Alonso once said, “I would say that it’s track characteristics. Seven days ago, we had a major car change, but that is no longer the case. No new parts for anybody. Simply put, the circuit’s characteristics seem to fit our car, not ours.

“It will be helpful to understand why the car is operating in this advantageous position,” the company said. “We can use it in the coming races.”

There are two things to think about here. One is that Aston Martin had a positive outlook prior to Spa when it completed a significant upgrade at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in mid-May.

Alonso placed fifth at Imola, seventh at Monaco, 10th at Spain, sixth at Canada, 11th at Austria, and ninth at Silverstone.

In that context, it’s the Spa result that should be seen as out of kilter, not Hungary.

The Aston Martin is a car that struggles on the straights, which is a result of poor aerodynamic performance. And straights account for two-thirds of Spa. The Hungaroring has a much higher percentage of corners.

Silverstone is a fast track, but Aston Martin ran an old-style floor at Spa, believing it would fit the track, which also caused the Eau Rouge bottoming issue.

This required switching to a previous-spec floor from Imola instead of the new one that Silverstone introduced.

Perhaps that also played a part.

Alonso’s outstanding race on Sunday resulted in the same race result as Lando Norris’ one-stop strategy, which he used to secure his grid position in Hungary. In seventh place, Stroll was less than ten seconds behind.

It would seem logical to assume that Aston Martin’s form may continue to fluctuate according to track characteristics from now on.

Does holding investigations after a race has finished damage the credibility of F1? There is no other sport that I can think of where the outcome can change. – Martin

This is presumably a reference to the decision to look into the incident between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at Turn Four after the race in Hungary.

The FIA should have responded to numerous requests from teams and drivers in the past to thoroughly examine potentially contentious situations rather than make their own decisions during the race.
