Gemma Collins horrified over changing face after weight-loss jabs

Gemma Collins’s shrinking frame has left her with an unwelcome side effect – but the Diva Forever star is determined to take swift action in her quest for ‘perfection’, a source says

Gemma Collins might be thrilled to have dropped a few dress sizes – thanks to her Mounjaro weight loss jabs – but she’s not happy with one of the unwelcome side-effects. The 44-year-old revealed she’d lost more than two stone since starting on the NHS-approved weight loss jabs, but last week, she expressed concern that she’d started “looking older” since she began taking the medication late last year.

“I really don’t know what’s happened to me, I really don’t,” she said. “It’s just come on me overnight. But it has been a year since I’ve had any little tweakments.” The lines around her eyes had gone “next level”, she told her 2.2 million Instagram followers, before questioning whether it might be linked to her weight loss.

“I don’t know if it’s since I’ve been losing weight. I sure haven’t got ‘Ozempic face’ yet, but it would be the dream right now,” she said. “I’ve always had a fuller face, as you know. I do like expression around my eyes. I want to look natural still. But this just isn’t right. What has happened? I am 44 but this is taking it to levels that I never, ever imagined it’d get to. ”

So-called ‘Ozempic-face’ is a term used to describe a hollow or gaunt look usually caused by rapid weight loss.

A source claimed that while Gemma, who is engaged to businessman Rami Hawash, made light of her “next level” lines, she was genuinely shocked by the dramatic change. They also claimed that while she’s still taking the jabs, she’s managed to make healthy lifestyle changes too.

“She’s eating really healthily and has broken some of the bad habits with food,” they said. “It was a bit of a shock to her to really see the effect the weight loss has had on her face. She doesn’t want to suddenly look older than she is, which is why she’s sorting it and being honest about it.

“Gemma’s always been really open and honest about her relationship with her body and she’s been through some really horrible times with it, but that’s all in her past now. The wrinkle tweakments are all part of her wanting to feel and look good. She knows there’s no point losing all the weight and just being unhappy, so she’ll happily make little changes to keep herself feeling her best. ”

Gemma previously said she was a size 26 at her heaviest and is hoping to fit into a size 16 by summer, telling The Sun newspaper she was also hoping to “give birth to twins next year” if she can conceive at a healthy weight. She also revealed she once secretly had a gastric balloon fitted, but begged doctors to remove it after experiencing crippling pain. “It was scary. I should never have done it – I thought I was going to die,” she said.

Earlier this year, she announced she had signed up with Yazen, a company that provides a treatment plan of weight loss jabs, to put an end to her years of yo-yo dieting. She has often spoken publicly about her struggle with her weight, which she previously admitted had left her feeling suicidal and stuck in a “toxic dieting chain”.

“I will finally be free,” she said at the time. “I will finally be able to live my best life and just be free from all that upset and stress and turmoil that comes with constantly trying to lose excess weight. ”

Dr Emma Cunningham, aesthetic doctor and founder of Dr Emma Clinics, told the Mirro that Gemma’s fresh anxiety around her facial wrinkles is an increasingly familiar issue with patients, as more and more people take weight loss medication. While they do not cause wrinkles directly, the rapid loss of fat, especially around the face, can leave skin looking looser and less plump.

“Men and women turning to these jabs are often delighted with the weight loss, but then catch sight of their reflection and feel they suddenly look older,” said Dr Emma. “That’s because the softness and roundness that fat gives the face is linked to a more youthful appearance. When that disappears, it can create hollow cheeks, gauntness and more pronounced lines. It’s not just the face either – the skin on the neck, arms, and tummy can also appear looser, depending on how much weight is lost and how fast. ”

Fortunately, according to Dr Emma, there is a lot that can be done to support the skin in such cases such as gentle fillers, polynucleotides, skin boosters and radiofrequency treatments.

“A fuller face can often disguise early signs of ageing, so when that volume goes, it can suddenly highlight sagging or wrinkles that were previously less obvious,” said Dr Emma. “It’s not that weight loss causes ageing, but rather that it reveals more of what was already there. ”

Our source claimed Gemma is not trying to turn back the clock and that she is fully aware she’s in her mid forties, but she’s not going to let a few wrinkles ruin her look. “She’s a diva and she strives for perfection,” said the source. “Rami totally supports her. She doesn’t go wild with treatments – it’s just a little maintenance here and there. She knows she’s 44. She’s not trying to pretend she’s 24. ”

Alex Brooker says he can’t ever appear on Strictly Come Dancing after Chris McCausland

Alex Brooker has exclusively revealed to the Mirror that he can’t see himself appearing on Strictly Come Dancing any time soon – thanks to Chris McCausland

Alex Brooker has opened up about ruling out Strictly and his return to Soccer Aid

Alex Brooker has revealed he wouldn’t stand a chance on Strictly Come Dancing after pal Chris McCausland won the show. Actor and comedian Chris made history when he became the first blind person to appear on the show in December last year.

Defying the odds, McCausland went on to win the competition with his dance partner, Australian beauty Dianne Buswell. But Alex now admits thanks to Chris, he can’t participate on the programme as he wouldn’t be as good as the comedian.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Alex said: “I’ll be honest with you, I said this on Last Leg at New Year when we had Chris McCausland on, I said it to him direct, the first time I saw Chris on Strictly, I said it was the best thing I’d seen. It blew my mind how he did it. The word inspiration is thrown around loads with disabled people.

“I get called inspirational if I open a can of drink, it’s always knocking about but it inspired me so much. I said ‘This guy is incredible,’ that’s phenomenal. I was so delighted he won. However, with that, he’s ruined it for any disabled person who goes on after that because none of us will ever be as good as that. “

The broadcaster, 40, went on to joke: “I could go on Strictly, do a load of weeks on there, hold up the dancer with one hand doing the Foxtrot and still people will go ‘Yeah, Chris McCausland did the whole thing and he couldn’t see’, there’s no better than Chris for me with Strictly. “

But Chris isn’t Alex’s only pal to appear on the show – comedian Josh Widdicombe appeared on the Christmas special last year, dancing to Let It Snow with Karen Hauer, while dressed as a penguin. This speared Alex on after Josh couldn’t resist flashing his ripped physique.

He said: “Josh Widdicombe is one of my best mates, watching him on the Christmas special was a joy. Dressed as a penguin, I couldn’t have asked for any more from it as a viewer, let alone as one of his pals. He was so good but honestly, you should see the shape he got in.

“He’d come into Last Leg and he was showing me his abs during training, he’s got a tidy body on him. He was dancing five hours a day, he got absolutely ripped and he still is. From that point of view, I could do with that training regime in the run up to Soccer Aid this year. “

Last year, Alex appeared on ITV’s The Masked Singer as Bigfoot which he hadn’t even told his daughters about. Speaking about their reaction, Alex said: “Last year with The Masked Singer, my girl’s reaction to that is still phenomenal when I got unmasked.” Previously, he’s appeared on the I’m A Celebrity spin-off show which made him decide never to participate on the main show.

During his time on the show, alongside Joe Swash, he competed in a mini Bushtucker Trial – attempting to see how many fish eyes he could fit in his mouth. He said: “In terms of Bushtucker Trials, that’s not even touching the sides. I was ill for like a whole day after that, I’m not so sure I’m cut out for it. The good thing for me, Last Leg is always on at the same time as I’m A Celebrity. Maybe one day if our schedule changes, maybe.”

This year, Alex is returning to Soccer Aid for UNICEF for the fourth time and will be playing alongside the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Tom Grennan, Jill Scott, Sam Thompson and Toni Duggan. “I love it, I really do love it,” he said of making his return, adding that he doesn’t take “it for granted” when he’s asked back.

He added: “I treat every time I’ve played as if it’ll be the only time I get to do it. It’s the best thing I do all year, apart from stuff with my family – it’s awesome. I cannot wait for it, I can’t wait to see everyone at training week.

“It’s a little family that you get to see for a week every year, the event itself is just phenomenal, it’s always blown my mind watching it. ” Alex said he remembered seeing footballing legend Diego Maradona playing and realising how unique the event actually is.

“I remember watching the one when Ben Shephard was sent off and shouting at the telly ‘You can’t send him off’, the mix of people you get,” he said, adding: “You’ve got someone like me who’s wearing Number 14 and you’ve got someone like Theo Walcott on the England team wearing Number 14.

“We’re very different physiques and I would say very much opposite ends of the speed scale. It’s this wonderful unique event for the best cause in UNICEF. Last year we went past the £106 million mark in terms of money raised, so to be part of something that’s had such a massive difference to people and continues to, it’s awesome. “

The family aspect of Soccer Aid is hugely important to Alex, noting that family friendly telly shows are “few and far between these days”. Another aspect he loves is the mix of famous faces who take part, including American social media star Noah Beck, who left Brooker’s little siblings “so excited. “

“There’s something for everyone with Soccer Aid,” he said before adding: “The cause itself and the money raised. Two years ago I got to go away with UNICEF on one of their trips and we went to a disaster refugee camp in Jordan and I got to see first hand myself, the difference that UNICEF’s work makes to children, the most vulnerable people. The fact that UNICEF is there for everyone all around the world.

“I don’t think there can be a better cause than helping out young kids, I just don’t think there is. The amount of kids that get to come out and watch it here, the fact they’re in the grounds and the money raised from that, it helps children everywhere. “

Alex who was born with defects of his hands and arms and a twisted right leg which led to an amputation is a fierce campaigner for inclusivity. Now, he admits that things are “progressing” for inclusivity but admits that “any meaningful change takes time. “

He admits that you “cannot underestimate” the difference to his own childhood compared to children nowadays. Alex commented: “I think that things are moving in the right direction, there’s still a way to go but I feel like for younger people, the opportunities.

“Through Last Leg I worked closely with the Paralympics – the open days for young people to try sports. When I was 13, I remember discovering disability football through just going to an open day at my local leisure centre.

“It’s the first time I’d ever done sports with other disabled people or even being around other disabled people. That was massive for me – the fact that those opportunities are so widespread now is huge. “

Alex is often inundated with messages from parents of children with disabilities who praise him for participating in Soccer Aid as they feel “represented”. He said: “It’s a tough one for me, playing football isn’t an easy thing for me to do. It’s something I was openly discouraged from doing when I was a kid by Doctors.

“There’s a reason for it, my body isn’t kind of made out for football as much as I wish it was but to be involved and to represent disabled people, I’m never going to be able to do anything more important than that. Obviously you’re doing it for this amazing cause, I get so much out of it.

“One of the reasons why I’m so excited is, I love being a part of it, just a small part of something so huge – that’s why it’s the best thing that I do. “

After finding herself in the eye of the rumour mill this week online, Kerry Katona has cleared up her relationship status.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 44, took to her weekly New! Magazine column after seeing a post on social media claiming she was in a relationship with close friend Katie Price.

The post, which was circulating on Facebook, read: “After the surpising news last week that singer Katie Price has come out as lesbian. She has now confirmed she’s dating former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona. She says that Kerry fills the hole in her life that was always missing.”

Explaining there’s no truth to the joke post, Kerry said: “There’s a joke article going around Facebook that Katie Price and I are in a relationship, which I just want to confirm is definitely, definitely not true! I have no idea where it has come from but it’s quite hilarious, I’ve heard it all now.”

She added: “We are good friends, but I’m not sure we’d work so well together romantically. Plus, I’ve never been with a woman before. Although with the way my dating life is currently going, maybe it’s something to try out…”

Katie has been in a relationship with Married At First Sight star JJ Slater for over a year now. While Kerry has been single since splitting from her fiancé Ryan Mahoney in November, with the star now supported by friends as she navigates life getting back into the dating pool.

Kerry and Katie have a close friendship and often spend time together with their broods, with Katie and her eldest son Harvey celebrating Christmas at Kerry’s Cheshire home last year.

Last week, Kerry defended Katie in her weekly column when the latter found herself in hot water for promoting boxer Anthony Fowler’s claims that his brand, Supreme CBD, ‘cured’ his daughter’s tumour.

One video, shared to Katie’s Instagram, saw her sitting with Anthony’s partner, Serena Stregapede, who claimed that a tumour in their daughter Roma’s leg ‘shrunk’ after using the CBD products.

Many fans were unimpressed with the marketing and claims from Katie, leading to Kerry jumping to her defence.

She wrote: “I’ve seen that Supreme CBD has been getting lots of bad press over the last week since my friend Katie Price began promoting it and shared that it helped the owner Anthony Fowler’s daughter, who had a tumour in her leg. I’ve been working with the brand and Anthony, for years and I absolutely love it.

Kerry added: “No one is claiming that CBD can cure cancer, they are simply saying that it helped his daughter. I introduced Katie to the brand and, if I’m honest, I think people just like to be negative towards her, no matter what the situation is. “

Peter Andre has opened up about ‘horrific’ comments Danny Dyer once made about him in 1999 film Human Traffic, admitting they left him feeling hurt. It comes as the Mysterious Girl singer has come under fire this week and had some negative comments directed at him for starring in a new film,

While Peter is yet to address the backlash, he did take to his weekly New! Magazine column this week to give his opinion on controversy surrounding Saturday Night Live for a parody sketch they aired which mimicked actress Aimee Lou Wood and her quirky smile, leaving her hurt.

“At the time I was really hurt and upset, but I’ve met Danny many times and he’s lovely and we get on great. It’s hard to draw a line between comedy and art and real-life, sometimes. I hope she wasn’t too upset and is able to move past it. She’s a brilliantly talented actress. . “

Peter has been embroiled in his own drama this week as many are unhappy with his role in new film Jafaican, for which the trailer dropped this week.

The movie, which features Peter as a Jamaican gangster, has divided the internet, with many disapproving of Peter’s character wearing a dreadlock wig and putting on a Jamaican accent for his feature film outing. Many have questioned “why is Jamaica always the butt of the joke” and some have even gone as far to brand the film racist.

The plot is teased as follows: “Desperate to secure £35,000 for his gran’s care, small-time crook Gazza jumps on a risky tip-off and hatches a daring scam. With just 21 days to pull it off, he must immerse himself in Jamaican culture to con his way between London and Jamaica. “

Peter shared the trailer with his fans on both Instagram and Twitter (X) on Tuesday but has since deleted his tweet amid a massive backlash. “This is actually so gross and I don’t know why Jamaica is always everybody’s punchline. Wishing the worst for everyone involved especially you Peter Andre,” one critic fumed.

DHL To Stop Global Shipments Worth Over $800 To US Consumers

Global shipping giant DHL will “temporarily” suspend the shipping of parcels worth more than $800 from businesses to individuals in the United States as of Monday, the company said, citing delays in US customs clearances.

“As a result of recent US Customs regulatory updates, we are experiencing multi-day transit delays to the US from any origin for shipments with a declared customs value exceeding USD 800,” DHL said in a statement.

President Donald Trump has launched a wide-ranging trade war since coming to office, threatening friend and foe alike with steep tariffs to address US trade deficits with individual countries.

As part of those changes, the government has also lowered the threshold at which parcels to individuals require formal entry processing by US Customs — down to $800 from $2,500 as of April 5.

“This change has caused a surge in formal customs clearances, which we are handling around the clock,” said DHL.

The company added that business-to-business shipments would not be affected by the suspension, “though they may also face delays. ”

Curry, Butler lead Warriors to win against Rockets in Game 1 of playoffs

Stephen Curry scored a game-high 31 points and Jimmy Butler III added 25 as the Golden State Warriors held off the Houston Rockets 95-85 in Game 1 of their Western Conference first-round series.

Curry, who shot 1-for-10 and scored three points in a home loss to the Rockets on April 6, was brilliant on Sunday. He finished 12-for-19 overall, drilled five three-pointers and grabbed six rebounds. Butler added seven rebounds and six assists to his ledger as the visiting Warriors grabbed a 1-0 series lead with Game 2 set for Wednesday in Houston.

Houston reduced a 23-point deficit to 76-73 on an Amen Thompson floater with 6 minutes and 49 seconds left to play. But Curry extended that advantage back to 82-75 with a three-pointer with 5 minutes and 11 seconds remaining. Butler and Brandin Podziemski (14 points, eight rebounds, five assists) kept the Rockets at bay in the closing stages.

The Rockets shot just 39. 1 percent and committed 17 turnovers that the Warriors converted into 25 points. Alperen Sengun posted 26 points and nine rebounds, but Jabari Smith Jr was the first teammate to join him in double figures with 11 points, doing so via a corner three-pointer with 7:34 minutes left.

Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet shot a combined 7-for-34 and totalled 17 points for Houston.

The Rockets were energised early behind Sengun, who had eight points and six rebounds in the first quarter. Houston led 19-12 when Tari Eason converted a steal into a fast-break dunk with 3:20 minutes left, but Curry engineered a brief run to close that gap.

Curry followed his assist to Butler with a pair of drives that pulled the Warriors to within 21-18 entering the second quarter. Butler then supplied the Warriors with their first lead at 24-23 with a free throw at the 9:16 mark of the second quarter, and Golden State later seized its first double-digit advantage with an 11-0 run capped by a Curry reverse layup with 6:08 minutes remaining in the first half.

The Rockets briefly stemmed the tide and pulled to within four points, only for the Warriors to close the half with a 9-0 burst that featured two Curry three-pointers and three points from Butler. Meanwhile, the Rockets missed their final five shots and committed two turnovers during that stretch, entering the intermission trailing 47-34 after shooting 6-of-18 in the second period.

In earlier first-round matches played on Sunday, the Oklahoma City Thunder destroyed the Memphis Grizzlies 131-80 in the most lopsided Game 1 win in NBA playoff history.
