Freddie Flintoff’s huge drop in earnings revealed after near-death Top Gear crash

Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, a former sports star and television personality, has revealed the tragic accident that almost cost his life while he was filming the BBC series Top Gear.

A near-fatal collision occurred in which Freddie Flintoff was involved.

Freddie Flintoff’s earnings took a huge hit following his horrifying Top Gear crash that left the former cricket star fighting for his life. Thankfully, the 47-year-old pulled through, with his gruesome injuries shown in full for the first time in a new Disney+ documentary.

However, there was a time in his recovery where Freddie – whose real name is Andrew – wondered if he had any career left to go back to. Prior to his crash, Freddie Flintoff Enterprises Ltd was making a £1million-a-year profit from his hosting duties.

But after that fateful day in Surrey in 2022, everything changed. Following the crash, the star’s profit decreased to £256, 000, according to accounts.

And latest accounts from 2023 to 2024 show he made a loss of almost £647,000, according to the Sun.

It’s said the popular TV personality’s compensation figure from the incident is a “reflection” of his career value, according to an insider. Speaking to the publication, the source said: “He got £9million compensation from BBC Studios, a figure which left many staggered.

He continued, “But between 2020 and 2022, he was earning almost £1 million annually. The enormous sum represents how much of his earnings he lost and how much he still has to lose in these uncertain times.

Freddie’s legal team at the time of his settlement told the Sun that the former cricketer was still recovering from “life-alteringly significant” injuries. Now, images of the extent of his injuries have been shown in full.

Flintoff’s medical professional, Surgeon Jahrad Haq, described his injuries as “very complex.” The star also had fractured and displaced parts of the upper jaw bone, lost teeth, and hard and soft tissue injuries.

The new documentary also sees Freddie claim TV bosses treated him “like a piece of meat” in the lead up to his Top Gear crash. Speaking about television and the thirst to make everything bigger and better than before, Flintoff says: “I think that is the danger that TV falls into. And I found out the hard way eventually.

“There is always more,” he said. Everyone desires more. Everyone desires something new. That bigger stunt is something everyone desires. Everyone wants to go a little deeper.

Everyone desires an exclusive, they say. Everyone wants that near miss, because that will attract viewers, oh, oh. Always and always about viewers are everything.

“And I should have been sincere about this because I already learned this in sports, with all the accidents, the injections, the times I was sent out on a cricket field and treated like a piece of meat. That includes sport and TV. It’s quite similar, in my opinion. You are merely a commodity. You’re merely a piece of meat, ” “

Florence Pugh’s van smashed up by thieves during London Thunderbolt premiere

Robbers stole the A-lister’s laptop and cell phone before entering her van, according to robbers.

After the masked robbers crashed into Florence Pugh’s van following the UK premiere of her new Marvel film, masked robbers targeted her and her family. When chaos broke out outside the after-party venue close to the Strand, the 29-year-old actress had just left the glittery Leicester Square premiere of Thunderbolts, which she was joined by her gran Pat and boyfriend Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole.

In terrifying scenes, two men wearing balaclavas pulled up on a motorbike and smashed the windows of one of five black Mercedes vans that had transported Florence and her loved ones. The raiders reportedly stole a laptop and mobile phone before fleeing the scene.

An onlooker told the Sun: “Florence and her family and friends pulled up in five Mercedes vans to the after-party. Not long after they’d gone inside, a motorbike with two blokes in balaclavas pulled up and they smashed out a side window of one of the vans.

The van driver’s assistants had no chance to do anything because everything happened so quickly. A laptop and a cell phone were taken from the middle seats after they entered.

“Fergument to Florence’s friends and family, including her gran, were inside, but it was still shocking. These thieves appear to be aware of where their targets are in London, where law is breaking.

After the brutal raid, one of the vans’ rear windows were crudely patched up with bin bags in photos from the scene. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Florence, who plays assassin Yelena Belova, didn’t give a rip about the incident.

She was seen posing for cameras shortly after the attack, with co-stars David Harbour, Lewis Pullman, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus at a different promotional event at the Corinthia Hotel.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the burglary had occurred. A 35-year-old man reported that his car had been stolen from inside his car on Tuesday, April 22, according to a spokesperson. There are still no arrests being made.

Growing concerns about safety in the UK capital have resurfaced as a result of the attack. After figures revealed the Met failed to resolve nine out of ten theft cases, Lib Dem MP Lisa Smart claimed car thefts in London had been effectively “decriminalized” in January.

Fans had a mental picture of the character’s personality before Florence Pugh began portraying Yelena, so Florence Pugh previously mentioned that she felt “a lot of pressure” about playing the role in Thunderbolts.

When creating any Marvel creation, she said, “There’s a lot of pressure, a lot of pressure.” You need to keep in mind that the person you’re playing has loved people before you even step foot in those shoes, something you need to keep in mind and understand.

People will have their own preconceived notions of what that character will be, even if Marvel had given it a shot. So it’s a big responsibility, not something to be taken lightly, and not something you should just expect people to like, which is a part of the challenge and joy of being a part of something so massive.

India, Pakistan trade gunfire as tensions rise over deadly Kashmir attack

As the UN calls for “maximum restraint” and “regular restraint,” Indian and Pakistani forces have engaged in firefights along the Line of Control (LOC) between the two nations in response to the recent deadly attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam town.

Since 1947, India and Pakistan have fought for independence, with both claiming the entire area and governing distinct regions, which has exacerbated the conflict.

On Friday, sources from the Indian army told Al Jazeera that the Pakistani side was the shooter’s initiator. A government official in Pakistan-administered Kashmir on Friday confirmed to the AFP news agency that troops exchanged fire, but did not specify what started the exchange.

According to Pakistani official Syed Ashfaq Gilani, “There was no firing on the civilian population.”

Although it was unknown where along the LOC the incident occurred, Bandipora’s Umar Mehraj, a reporter for Indian-administered Kashmir, reported that two other people were hurt in a separate incident.

At least 26 people were killed at a resort in Pahalgam on Tuesday, according to suspected rebels&nbsp, marking the deadliest attack in Indian-administered Kashmir in a quarter-century.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a group thought to be an offshoot of the Pakistani-based Lashkar-e-Taiba armed group, was named in a statement claiming responsibility for the attack.

Indian police have offered a $23,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the three suspects from the UN-designated “terrorist organization.”

With India withdrawing from the Indus Waters Treaty and Pakistan suspending a canal irrigation project and closing its airspace to Indian airlines in retaliation for accusations that it was involved in the deadly incident, New Delhi and Islamabad have since engaged in a significant diplomatic diplomatic exchange.

Relations between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who have waged three wars, have fallen to the lowest level in years as a result of the tit-for-tat announcements.

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif vehemently refuted the claims that Islamabad was behind the attack in an interview with Al Jazeera late on Thursday.

He claimed that accusing Pakistan would not resolve the Indian “occupation” in Kashmir.

He continued, citing the LOC’s highly guarded nature as proof that “infiltration of some armed groups cannot be possible.”

General Upendra Dwivedi, the army chief in India, is traveling to Pahalgam on Friday to review security arrangements.

Narendra Modi, India’s prime minister, had promised to “hunt the gunmen to the very end of the earth.”

Mehraj, a reporter for Al Jazeera in Pahalgam, reported that since the deadly attack, security has been increased in the area.

“Security organizations are also repressing media outlets more frequently.” He claimed that hundreds of people are being detained and questioned over their involvement in the attack.

Residents are also concerned that they could be caught in the crossfire, Mehraj continued.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan has stated that the nation is prepared to retaliate if India violates its rights.

He declared that Pakistan’s army was ready to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty against any misdeeds.

The UFC fighter trying to give up smoking 10 a day

Before the pair’s welterweight fight on Saturday, Ian Machado Garry preferred to concentrate on the fight.

Prates, a 31-year-old Brazilian, has admitted to smoking 10 cigarettes per day in preparation for facing the Irishman at UFC Fight Night in Kansas City, Missouri. He has stated that he is “trying to smoke less to get fitter and healthier.”

Given the potential health risks of cigarettes, which include cardiovascular disease, lung disease, and lung cancer, high-level athletes rarely smoke.

“His entire country wants me to win, while the dude smokes cigarettes, while I’m in Brazil.” He made those life choices, not something I should participate in,” Machado Garry said.

Prates, who has won his first four UFC fights by knockout, has stated that he wants to stop smoking altogether in the future, but that’s “hard.”

In his post-fight press conference in November, Prates asked if he could smoke a cigarette, but he claimed it was denied because smoking was prohibited there.

Machado Garry, 27, suggested a different plan when asked by the media if he would smoke a cigar with Prates following their Saturday contest.

“I won’t smoke if I don’t.” But he said, “I can sit down and talk about how I knocked him out and how I can help him improve.”

After Jamahal Hill withdrew from his initial fight with Khalil Rountree, Jamaal Hill withdrew injured from their first fight.

After taking Belal Muhammad in December, Machado Garry took the fight with little notice, which was followed by a consolation defeat to Shavkat Rakhmonov.

It describes who I am and the character I am. They refer to us as the “fighting Irish” because I was born and raised in Dublin, Machado Garry said.

Stats of Machado Garry

Rakhmonov’s defeat put an end to Machado Garry’s impressive eight-fight winning streak in the UFC.

Prates is 13th overall while the Irishman is currently ranked seventh in the UFC welterweight rankings.

Machado Garry has won eight fights since making his UFC debut in 2021, with three coming by knockout, which equals Prates’ 100% finish rate.

Although Machado Garry lacks Prates’ knockout power, he still has some of the best welterweight striking stats.

He leads the list in terms of significant strike accuracy, ranking sixth with 55%, followed by title rival Della Maddalena, who has 55%, and former champion Leon Edwards, who has 54% in comparison.

Machado Garry’s striking differential, which is 1.9, also ranks eighth.
