Amy Dowden ‘nervous’ as she shares empowering update from oncology appointment

Amy Dowden, a professional dancer, made fun of her feelings of “nervous” before a review with her oncologist almost two years after being diagnosed with cancer. In the update to fans, she also included a motivating message.

Amy, 34, announced that there was “no evidence of disease” after receiving treatment in 2023 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. Following a break, she made a comeback to Strictly Come Dancing last year, but she later withdrew after suffering an injury. She most recently appeared on the BBC show’s subsequent tour.

Following the launch of Carlos Gu’s Reborn tour, which she performed on Instagram last week, she shared an update with her followers this morning. After previously revealing that she will need one every month for about five years, Amy posted a photo of herself back in the hospital to reflect on her life in the accompanying caption.

Today serves as a reminder of how fortunate I am, Amy wrote. “After the most amazing surreal week, I had the most amazing week.” to “go grab life,” Make the most of each opportunity and day! It’s that time of the month when my oncologist visits the oncology unit (which always makes me a little anxious) and I have a review with the oncologist.

She continued, “But it always brings me back to the reality of being here!” It serves as a reminder of my gratitude for the NHS, how fortunate I am, and how far I’ve come. One of my lovely nurses actually said, “Amy, your hair is in a bobble.

She continued, “I’ll be leaving today and travel to join the cast back on tour in Scotland.” OH MY GOODNESS! I’m feeling more inspired than ever before, and I’m truly stronger. AMY THE DANCER IS BACK, AND TODAY, I HAVE THAT REALITY OF HOW LUCKY I AM AND START STRIVING TO EVER BECOME A BETTER VERSION OF ME.

The update comes a week after Carlos and Amy and Strictly’s Reborn tour debuted in Birmingham on March 10. In a post on the platform, she wrote that the experience had “unleashed a new Amy” and then made a few days later.

We are on the road, she wrote in her own words. The last two nights have been a MAGICAL, EMOTIONAL, JOYFUL, and THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE FEELING! THANK YOU to Andrea and the stage crew for their incredible dances. You two have such amazing talent and a lovely energy!

We pushed ourselves beyond our comfort zones and, thanks to our creative director/choreographer queen, Beth, we can never thank you enough for our 22 full-on dance routines, from all styles. More is being revealed in this program than we had anticipated. You have given us a NEW AMY! Thank you for your fantastic routines, Neil Jones.

She said, “Thank you to everyone who has come so far; your love, support, and reaction have been everything!” I appreciate it! Having the dream! My crazy, wild, loving, and talented soul, I adore sharing and dancing with you, my darling friend!

Amy recently made fun of the possibility of being a member of Strictly’s lineup this year while promoting the tour. Prior to her withdrawal from the show, the dancer had previously been partnered with JLS member JB Gill despite making no other guest appearances while undergoing cancer treatment.

In an interview that was released last month, she responded to a question about whether she and Carlos would be returning for the next series, “We are waiting to find out, fingers crossed.” They “would” like to return for another Strictly series,” she added.

Amy continued to say that if she was a member of the lineup, she would be able to “enjoy herself” this year. She remarked, “I really feel like Amy once more. I had a terrible lack of self-assurance last year. The actress later admitted that she was still trying to accept everything and that she didn’t look good.

‘Everything seems fine’ with Hallgrimsson – Doherty

Despite his criticism of Heimir Hallgrimsson last year, Republic of Ireland defender Matt Doherty claims to have a “good relationship” with the manager.

Doherty, 33, publicly expressed his disappointment that he didn’t play in the Nations League’s October games against Greece and Finland.

The Wolves man was called up late for the return game against Finland and the following month’s game against England, and he has once more been named in the squad for the Nations League play-off against Bulgaria this week.

“I respect the remarks I made at the time. The former Tottenham Hotspur player said, “It was a long time ago, and a lot has kind of passed since then.”

“We are currently in a good relationship, and everything seems to be running smoothly.” We haven’t spoken too much.

Everything seems to be alright now, according to the statement from the last time I was in camp.

Although he was a substitute for England in the 5-0 defeat, Doherty won his 48th cap when he started the game against Finland in November.

It’s natural to believe that you want to play in every squad as a player.

He’s a completely different animal, he claims.

Doherty has started the club’s last 16 Premier League games and has regularly appeared on the right-hand side of a back three since Vitor Pereira took over as manager of Wolves in December.

With minutes under his belt, Doherty is described as a “totally different animal” by Republic of Ireland assistant manager John O’Shea.

The key is simple: Matt is playing and playing well once, says the former Manchester United defender.

When he plays football, he’ll realize that he’s a completely different animal.

Anderson beats Lipscombe to secure 30th career title

Gary Anderson won the Players Championship Seven in Hildesheim, beating surprise finalist Adam Lipscombe, earning him the 30-year ranking title of his career.

The 54-year-old Scots two-time world champion put an end to an eight-month search for more silverware in Germany by defeating the Englishman 8-3.

Anderson spoke to PDC. “I’ve had a difficult few months,” he said on Tv. It’s nice to win one because I’ve been struggling since December.

Before a strong semi-final win over Mike de Decker, the Scot had a strong lead in the opening two rounds but needed a final-leg decider to defeat Krzysztof Ratajski in the final eight.

Lipscombe’s defeat prevented him from achieving a fairytale result in his eighth tournament since receiving his tour card at the start of the year.

In the semi-finals, he defeated Dirk van Duijvenbode 7-4 after beating William O’Connor 6-4 in the final eight.

Man Utd fans ‘disappointed’ by season ticket price increase

Reuters

As Manchester United tries to become financially stable for the third time in a row, the club’s season ticket prices will go up by about 5%.

There has also been a price freeze for under-16s, according to the Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST).

However, according to MUST, United supporters “ignored” the club’s plea for a general price freeze.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos group have tried to improve the club’s finances since taking over as co-owner last year, but several of the changes have been unpopular, leading to fan protests, most recently at Arsenal’s home game.

The introduction of a game categorisation model for non-season ticket holders, where premium games cost more, is one of the most recent changes for the 2025-26 season.

Additionally, United are increasing the minimum usage requirement for season tickets for 15 to 16 of their 19 home Premier League games.

Omar Berrada, United’s CEO, claims the organization “worked hard to come up with a pricing package that is fair and reasonable” and that the new changes are being made “to offset continued increases in operating costs.”

However, the new categorisation model and “a source of major concern” are both stated by MUST and that “we fail to see any justification for the increase.”

The club has been arguing for several months that the season’s ticket prices should be frozen because of this.

It would have sent a powerful message to United that other clubs have already done it and that everyone should unite to rescue the club from the difficult position it is currently in.

We are aware that any price increase is unwelcome, especially when the pitch is performing poorly, and we took the time to consider the compelling arguments made by the FAB (Fan Advisory Board) in favor of a freeze.

The club has, however, decided that it would be inappropriate to leave prices unchanged as costs rise and the club deals with ongoing financial problems.

Under Ineos, cost-cutting initiatives continue.

United have increased season ticket prices for the third time in a row after locking them in place for 11 years.

Following last month’s announcement of a second round of redundancies at the club, which saw a mid-season increase of some ticket prices to £66 without any concessions. Other cost-saving measures, including the elimination of staff free lunches.

Ratcliffe stated that the decisions must be made in order to reduce losses, which exceeded £113 million last year, and that he and other figures told the BBC Sport that “the club runs out of money at Christmas if we don’t do those things.”

The most recent season ticket changes increase by £2.50 per game on average.

Ratcliffe responded to the BBC, “Well, I don’t get involved in the pricing details.” That’s for the club’s management, not me, really.

“It should be fair and reasonably priced for the people in Manchester,” is one of my general tenets regarding ticket pricing.

While we must look after the under-16s and the older people, who do not have as much money, the club’s overall income is based on ticket sales.

What other adjustments will Man Utd make?

The introduction of a game categorisation model, the rise in season tickets, and the requirement for a minimum of three uses are just some of the most recent changes:

I See No Opponent Against My Re-Election, Says Soludo

In the wake of the governor’s challenge on November 8, 2025, governor Chukwuma Soludo said he sees no qualified opponent in the state’s election.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), argued that the state’s Ndi Anambra (the state’s citizens) are convinced that his party has produced benefits of democracy and deserves to have another chance in the upcoming election.

In a media conference to mark his third year, Soludo claimed that the people of the South-East state are party loyal to APGA when it comes to the election process for governor and local government chairmen.

He said, “If there is an election, I mean there will be an election, and I will be on the ballot after that, and I will ask: Who else is running?” Which political party is putting up a candidate?

I have not heard of any people until they come down from somewhere, though.
