After the public scandal involving Jermaine Jenas, sources close to his wife have opened up about the real reason for the breakdown of their marriage.

Mere days ago, Ellie, married to ex-BBC presenter and footballer, 42, dropped a bombshell on social media, announcing their split with a brief statement. She confirmed they’ve gone their separate ways but will continue to co-parent their three children: 11-year-old Geneva, 8-year-old Olivia, and 2-year-old Jacob.

The mum-of-three wrote: “I never imagined I would have to share something so personal with the public, but given the situation, I feel it’s necessary. After 16 years together and four wonderful children, Jermaine and I have decided to part ways. We will remain friends and continue to co-parent”.

Now, sources close to the couple have revealed the real reason behind Jermaine and Ellie’s painful breakup.

According to insiders, Ellie initially hesitated to end the marriage, not wanting to add to the public backlash Jermaine was already facing. However, after reflecting on their future and allowing the scandal to settle, she realised their relationship couldn’t survive.

“It’s not something you can just brush off and move on from”, a source told The Daily Mail. “It felt like a lack of loyalty and respect, two things she believes are vital to a marriage. Ellie resisted ending the marriage initially because she didn’t want to add to the pile on Jermaine was receiving”.

They continued: “Although she must have been hugely disappointed by what happened, she didn’t want to break him completely. But after thinking long and hard about their future and allowing the furore surrounding his scandal to die down, it seems she knew their relationship wouldn’t survive and felt Jermaine was now in a better place to handle the separation”.

The source went on to add: “It’s very much Ellie who pushed to end the marriage”.

Jermaine has yet to address his estranged wife’s statement Their split comes just months after he left the BBC in August following accusations of sending inappropriate texts to female colleagues.

Before he was let go in August, the star, who was a co-host on The One Show and a regular pundit on sports shows and also hosted on BBC Radio 5 Live. He’d even been seen as a natural replacement for Gary Lineker, who announced last year he’d be stepping down as host of Match of the Day at the end of this season in May.

After his sacking from the BBC, Jenas apologised, saying he hadn’t done “anything illegal” and that the “inappropriate messages” were “between two consenting adults”. Jenas made his comeback to broadcasting last month on TalkSport radio.

“The last six, seven months have been extremely tough for myself and my family”, he said on his return. “But it’s also been a really good opportunity to kind of take stock, have a good look at why you find yourself in these kind of situations, and start to have some honest conversations, really.

” With yourself, with other people, people that are close to you, people that have been very supportive during this period of time and just kind of work your way back to a position where I can get back to doing what I love most. “

Jesy Nelson, 33, shared just days ago that she has been experiencing “complications” due to being pregnant with identical twins. She told fans at the time that she was pre-stage twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), which affects identical twins who share a placenta, and said her symptoms, such as shortness of breath, had become “worse”.

On Saturday (8 March), the singer, and her partner Zion Foster, 26, revealed in a video message on Instagram that they were at hospital awaiting a procedure to give their unborn children “the best chance of surviving”. According to the Twins Trust, twin to twin transfusion is a “rare but life-threatening condition that affects 10 to 15 percent of identical twins that share a placenta”, and it “can have serious consequences”.

The condition arises from abnormal blood vessel connections in the twins ‘ placenta, causing an uneven blood flow between them. This results in one twin, called the donor, transferring excess blood to the other, known as the recipient, leading to a disparity in blood volume. The treatment choice depends on gestational age, severity (stages I–V of TTTS), and overall health of both twins.

Jesy explained the condition to fans, telling them: “So we are having identical twins, which is so exciting. We’re just like… we actually can’t believe it. But unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical… having identical twins.

” The type of twins we are having are called Mono/Di twins, and with that, so normally, most twins will have two placentas that they feed off of. But when you have Mono/Di twins, that means your twins live off one placenta, which can lead to lots of complications. One of them being one baby might take all the nutrients, the other might. Which is really awful to say, but could lead to both babies dying and at the moment, I am currently pre stage TTTS, which is twin to twin transfusion, and I’m being monitored very closely. “

Jesy revealed at the time that she has to be” scanned twice a week, “before sharing:” Every time I’ve gone it’s got a little bit worse. “She however added:” But we are just hoping and praying for the best. We feel like so blessed that we’ve been given twins but it’s just really sad that unfortunately it does come with its complications, which we had no idea about. “

The former Little Mix member said that herself and Zion wanted to raise awareness. She said:” We honestly had no clue that this kinda thing happens when you have twins and we just really wanna raise awareness about this because there’s so many people that don’t know about this. “

She concluded the video by asking fans for their prayers and saying that she wanted to keep them updated. Jesy said:” We just wanted to update you guys. Keep you in the loop with what’s going on. So yeah just pray for us please. Thank you. “

Jesy and Zion have been met with supportive messages from fans over the post, which was shared on both of their Instagram accounts with the caption:” TTTS update. “Fans expressed well wishes in the comment section.

Jesy’s pregnancy updates have raised awareness around TTTS and monochorionic Diamniotic (MCDA) twins. According to Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, TTTS occurs in around 10-15% of pregnancies to twins that share a placenta. It states that if no treatment is performed, there is an 80% chance of losing at least one baby – adding that laser for TTTS is the considered most effective treatment. That treatment is said to provide a 50% chance of taking home both babies, and a 75% chance of taking home one or both babies.

Fans were first told of Jesy’s pregnancy on January 12, when she announced that she was expecting twins in a post on Instagram. The post included a photo of herself and Zion, with him cradling her baby bump whilst stood behind her. Alongside the photo, Jesy teased:” She’s eating for 3 now. “They were met with an outpouring of well wishes on the platform, with fans and fellow celebrities congratulating them over the news.

Amanda Holden has opened up about the moment she ‘ died ‘ in 2012, after a ‘ difficult birth ‘ with her second daughter, Hollie. The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 54, was left fighting for her life, requiring several blood transfusions, following a critical haemorrhage.

While Amanda is undeniably grateful that both she and Hollie, now 13, survived, she admitted that she’s ‘ never stopped thinking about death ‘ ever since. “I had a really difficult birth with Holly, which ended up with me in a coma”, she said in a heartfelt chat with Alan Carr on BBC’s Amanda &amp, Alan’s Spanish Job.

“I died. And I was in intensive care, and the baby was fine, and then when I came round and everything was alright, I never stopped thinking about death after that and how easy and close it is to you.

” All the time. Life is so precious, and it can disappear from you so fast that I’m just like, ‘ Make every second count’. Literally. “Sadly, this isn’t the only time that Amanda has faced a difficult pregnancy, having also miscarried in 2010.

A year later, she was then left utterly heartbroken when another child died in the womb at 28 weeks. In 2022, she told Heart Radio that she was completely terrified about telling her eldest daughter Lexi, now 19, with the traumatic ordeal propelling her into a ‘ surreal out-of-body experience’.

” We lost our baby Theo at 28 weeks, and they very sensitively moved me into another room so I could deliver him without having to hear the lovely babies screaming on a normal ward, “she said.

A stillbirth takes place when ‘ a baby is born dead after 24 completed weeks of pregnancy’. If a baby dies before this period it is known as a miscarriage. Sadly, one in every 250 pregnancies in England result in stillbirths, NHS data suggests.

While these deaths are often linked to placenta complications, birth defects or the mother’s health, some cases have no obvious cause. The TV star has previously opened up about her harrowing ordeal in a bid to raise awareness of stillbirths.

Neither Danny, 38, nor Maura, 34, have spoken out on the events of that night – but broken cover with Maura being snapped out and about on the phone, while Danny was seen on TV in a pre-recorded segment for The One Show.

Just as the dust was appearing to begin to settle on the explosive revelation, a further report claimed the pair partied at a hotel together until 6am after sharing the kiss. So what exactly happened between the newly-single former Love Islander and the married McFly star? Here’s everything we know…

BRIT Awards red carpet – awkward run-ins and cryptic comments

Danny and Maura attended the BRIT Awards ceremony separately. Maura was snapped on the red carpet in a jaw-dropping sheer dress with a high neckline and stunning floral detailing embroidered on.

Maura dodged an awkward run-in with her ex-boyfriend Pete Wicks, whom she is reported to have split from on Valentine’s Day. Pete, 37, attended the ceremony with his Love Island pal Olivia Attwood – who took an opportunity to swipe at Maura after she allegedly claimed Pete had cheated after their split.

Recent exes Maura and Pete were seated just a few feet away from one another but were not seen speaking at any point during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Danny hit the red carpet with his fellow bandmate, McFly frontman, Tom Fletcher. Danny, who sported a suede brown jacket, a white shirt with a wide collar and wide leg black trousers, and his pal Tom, who sported a black suit with a red patterned shirt, were interviewed on the red carpet – with Danny’s comments later going viral.

During the clip, which was shared by the official BRITs Instagram account, Danny is seen pulling a tarot card. His card showed the sun, which he was told symbolises “positive, personal growth”. And when asked where he sees himself in a year’s time, he said: “Oh my word. Well… This might sound cheesy. Lower the stress in my life” Tom then pulled a card with the moon on it and the pair were quizzed on their plans for this evening.

Tom was seen joking that he “heard rumours” that Danny has “got some plans” and said he was “a bit scared” about where the night might head. When quizzed about a secret afterparty, Tom insisted: “I’m just following him”.

BRIT Awards afterparty – 3am kiss and ‘ shouting ‘

After undergoing an outfit change, Maura was pictured at the Universal Music’s BRIT afterparty at 180 Studios on The Strand in central London. She was seen in a tuxedo-style playsuit with hotpant shorts, a plunging neckline and a white frilled trim on the edge of the sleeves and shorts.

At the afterparty, she was seen in ‘ high spirits ‘ with her former I’m A Celebrity campmate, Danny, who was with pal Tom at the party. During the celeb-filled bash the pair were seen looking close as they chatted with one another at the bash.

Onlookers claimed to The Sun pair spent 90 minutes together as married Danny “appeared to be giving Maura advice”. The source added: “At one point he put his arm around her shoulder.

” Maura also laid her head on Danny’s shoulder as they talked with friends. “

Later, at just before 3am, Danny and Maura were seen sharing a drunken kiss as onlookers filmed the pair. The I’m A Celeb campmates were later photographed smiling as they left the bash alongside their fellow former campmate Oti Mabuse.

Danny then reportedly ‘ moved away ‘ to speak to others while Maura walked towards a chauffeur-driven car, while ‘ shouting Danny’s name’.

Hotel afterparty – sharing wine until 6am

An hour after being photographed leaving the Universal Music BRITs afterparty, the pair were seen arriving at Sony’s afterparty at the Nobu Hotel in Portman Square. The pair are reported to have travelled separately to the second bash.

The pair were said to be ‘ still grinning and joking about ‘ while a source claimed to The Sun:” Inside the party, it appeared to be just the two of them.

“The night was winding down as it was so early in the morning and a lot had gone home”.

Another video appears to show the pair locked in conversation with one another, laughing and holding a filled wine glass each. The pair are then reported to have ‘ disappeared into a darkened curtained-off side room’, which was reported to be only available for guests.

An onlooker claimed the pair had ‘ no plans to call it a night ‘ and were ‘ knocking back wine ‘ from 4am and ‘ weren’t seen leaving before 6am’.

Danny Jones and Maura Higgins allegedly had “no plans to call it a night” after they were papped sharing a ‘ drunken kiss ‘ at 180 Studios on the Strand, following the Brit Awards party. The McFly singer and Love Island alum were spotted getting very close at around 3am before heading separately to luxury Nobu Hotel in central London, where it’s claimed they stayed until 6am.

A new video allegedly shows Maura, 34, and Danny, 38, holding glasses of wine as they chatted and laughed together. Danny and Maura met when they both braved the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle last year, and were seen hitting up the O2 Arena in London for the star-studded event last Saturday (March 1). Following the evening a photo emerged that claimed to show the pair locking lips.

Speaking to The Sun, an onlooker revealed that the duo were “knocking back wine” from around 4 am and seemed “keen to carry on” not leaving the area until at least 6 am. They added: “Danny and Maura seemed to be enjoying their night of partying and had no plans to call it a night”.

Footage shared by the Sun showed Danny, who has been married to his wife Georgia Horsley since 2014, kissing Maura on the lips as they stood talking to one another. A source told the outlet that they “seemed to be having a great time”, adding: “They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss”.

It comes after Danny liked a seductive photo of Maura Higgins weeks before the pair were filmed sharing a kiss, reports claim. Danny is married to wife Georgia, 38, with whom he shares a son Cooper, seven, with.

Meanwhile, Maura is newly single after splitting from Pete Wicks, who she was dating while she was in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. Following the news of the shock kiss, it’s been reported that Danny liked one of Maura’s sultry Instagram posts – weeks before the pair were spotted locking lips.

Danny liked a photo of Maura wearing a figure-hugging leopard print dress. The post shows Maura smiling while sporting the gown, which has a fishtail style skirt. Maura accessorised the look with a black clutch bag as she leaned against a table for the photo.

She captioned the post with the word “ravenous” before adding a candle emoji – potentially in reference to the row of candles seen on the table behind her in the photo.

However, the apparent like from Danny is no longer visible on Maura’s Instagram post. Meanwhile, Maura has liked posts on Danny’s Instagram page since their jungle stint – including a snap of him performing on stage as part of McFly.

The post from Danny shows him with a guitar handing from a strap around his torso as he holds onto a microphone and performs to a huge crowd. As he shared the photo he wrote: “Get me back here! Looking forward to seeing you all at some shows this year”. Maura also commented on the post with two clapping hands emojis and a black heart emoji.

Neither Maura nor Danny have publicly addressed the video of the drunken kiss. Danny has been married to Georgia for a decade and it’s been reported the kiss feels like a “slap in the face” for the former Miss England star.
